Carrying on from Lake Ohrid, Kim and I took a 3 hour bus ride up to Skopje.

If you want to travel around the Balkans by bus, you can use the following website: https://travel.gjirafa.com/en

Skopje was a really unique city, in a good way. Being the unofficial statue capital of the world, it definitely felt like a city like none other. If I had to compare it, it had a little mix of Bucharest and Budapest. (I love both of those cities!)

Skopje is extremely affordable, and I felt safe the entire time. Although there are no Uber’s or Bolt’s, there are taxi’s everywhere around the city, so you’ll be able to get around without any problems.

Visiting Matka Canyon is a must when traveling here. Designate at least 2-3 hours here, just to enjoy the nature side of Skopje.

Between Lake Ohrid and Skopje, North Macedonia exceeded my expectations. I just loved it! I would definitely come back and recommend you to come as well 🇲🇰
