As an Electronics teacher, I am confused. Internet says keys can be chrome plated but chrome plating cannot be soft soldered. So this method defies logic and common sense.
I would believe the other methods suggested by viewers but this is BS.

I can see a tenuous solder joint could be made to the exposed brass core of the key (though not its chrome-plated outer layer). It is, however, impossible to solder to an iridium plated razor blade.
