Making this post mostly for historical record purposes, because I wasn't able to find anything about this particular model online.
I bought this Tiger Mfg Semi Pro SP road bike a few months ago, and when I was doing research about the model I saw nothing but disrespect for the brand (bike-shaped object, gas pipe, boom bike, etc). It looks like Tiger Manufacturing made mostly low end bikes, but this one seems pretty nice. I'm pretty sure the bike was fully original when I bought it, and probably has at most a few hundred miles on it.
Components:
– double butted hi-ten steel frame
– Araya 27×1-1/4 aluminum rims with Shimano hubs, quick release levers have Campagnolo rubber covers
– Drivetrain: Shimano bar end shifters, Shimano 600 derailleurs, Shimano Tourney double crankset
– Brakes: Shimano 600 calipers and levers, Dura Ace pads and Zeus top tube cable clamps
– SR Forged stem + Sakae Randnner drop bars
– I don't remember the pedals, I replaced them because the spindles felt rough
– SR Melt Forging seatpost, it was the annoying kind with 2 hard-to-reach bolts so I replaced it with a more simple Strong seatpost from the 80s
– Elina Super Pro saddle, which I've already sold separately for $250
I ended up cleaning it up, putting new tires and inner tubes, and rewrapping the bars. It rides well, about what you'd expect for a mid-high end bike from the 70s. The absolute Philistines in my area aren't buying it at my $300 price point, but I don't mind holding onto it until I find the right buyer.
Opinions/disrespect welcome 🙂
