I picked up some sport carbo bib tights from Le Col during the Black Friday then after two rides and washes, a good amount of pilling and looking like tears itself in the fabric started on both pads where it rubs against the saddle, a little on the legs and then also right above the crouch area. The damage isn't the worst in the world, just frustrating when it's brand new and fairly expensive stuff. I emailed their customer support and got this in response.
"Having reviewed the images, the wear shown appears consistent with pilling and surface abrasion caused by friction during riding, rather than a manufacturing defect. We normally see this type of wear in relation to a saddle too high/low, meaning that you shift across the saddle excessively. On the front panels where there may be interaction with jersey zips or accessories."
Is this just me or does this assume a little too much? Especially as I had the same bike fit for almost two years and over 10k miles on that fit with new fit problems so seems a stretch to assume this especially when it's happening across the whole bib. Frustrating as I had quite a few different brands and even my cheapest neopro stuff this hasn't happened after many rides on the trainer on the same bike. Also the pilling above the crotch has nothing that could touch it as it's right above the chamois and none of my cycling cloting is that long. Bummer is I really like the bibs too but seems they will fall apart and customer support is not helping their cause.
Images don't show all the threads missing too but here they are
