WOW! I’ve just finished one of the craziest bikepacking adventures of my life! 🚴♂️💨
Together with my friend, we took on part of the iconic Mother North gravel route in Norway — a legendary 1,000 km trail through some of the most breathtaking landscapes on Earth. We covered 700 km, climbed over 13,000 meters, and did it all in just 8 days!
We camped in wild places, rode through jaw-dropping scenery, and were lucky enough to have incredible weather the whole way. It was truly an unforgettable experience.
But enough talking — it’s time to see it for yourself! 🌄

Norway is so beautiful. But yeah, it’s hard to ride. Heat. Heat. THE SECOND We have so much stuff. Today is the first day of our my parking adventure in Norway. But first of all, we are going to Central Railway Station and then on train we will go to Winstra. We just arrived at Winstra station. where officially we start our road. I think we will eat some food and we’ll start our adventure. I hope you can see 712 km to the end. We started and the first uphill is here. We did first 300 m of elevation and tire it. is so compact, so nice. Before this trip, I saw a lot of videos uh pictures in internet. Now I can see it in real life and it’s totally different compared like you know to see this uh views from the screen and to see these views in real life taken. Hello Woohoo! Heat! Heat. Heat. Sometimes not so easy. It is getting cold. I will put on some fleece. to keep warm. It is so quiet, almost no sound. Just me in the middle of nowhere as always. And of course, it starts raining because it’s not possible bike parking in Norway without rain. Right now, it’s quite small, but we’ll see. I have some feelings that it will be a good rain, but I have a rain jacket. I hope it will save me. The landscape is crazy. There are no trees at all. Like almost at all. There are like I don’t know some small one. But yeah. Probably I look strange, but it’s much warmer. Wow. We found a spot or tent. Not the perfect one, but it has a great view. And probably the night will be cold because the there is some w wind and the water is also really close. And we choose a little bit different location. Instead of this one, we put it here because it’s more quiet and probably uh less windy. body view. Let me do a quick room tour. This is my little apartment for today and for world trip. Pillow down sleeping bag and the rest sleeping pad. That’s pretty much it. Today I’m going to eat beef stew with potatoes. Actually, the night was really warm and quiet. By the way, how cool is that to live on that house as you can see on small island always leave no trace. We didn’t have a breakfast today. Uh but we are going to some small city uh in around 30 km and I hope there we can get some food for breakfast. I can’t stop saying again and again how beautiful These little houses are wow. It’s literally breathtaking. Yeah, we’re going to the left. But this looks epic. And we just arrived in this small city. I don’t remember the name, but hopefully here we can find some breakfast. And our breakfast or let’s say lunch already. It’s much better after breakfast or brunch, lunch, whatever. And I’m ready to climb another 1,000 m of elevation. uh two climbs uh for about 500 mters each uh left for today and uh we just stopped uh before the first one just to have some rest, maybe eat more snacks and start our climbing. I’m so satisfied with my bike. So, no issues so far. Just works perfectly. Norway is so beautiful country, but yeah, it hurts to ride because you always going up and sometimes down, but yeah, the elevation it’s pretty much hard. So yeah, please consider it. If you know wise in bike packing and in cycling then really really think about the elevation. Maybe you need to ride less kilometers or I mean you need to gain more experience and confident. Maybe you can try some another more easy roads. Heat. I’ve got the fat tire done. a small stop before the last uh 500 m climb. And we started forcing our biggest climb for today, the last one around 500 m. So, wish us good luck. Not so easy. All the way up. Just straight up. I did it. This time the location is perfect near the Big lake. Yeah. Amazing views. Today I will be eating macaroni cheese. For today breakfast, I will have scrap. Crumble egg with cheese. Heat. Heat. A little bit of road, but this is the shortest way. house, a boat near the lake. I think it’s it’s a dream. We need to cross this small lake. I put on my sandals and I’m I will try to to ride it. Wish me luck. I did it. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Small coffee break. I didn’t find the coffee, but I found something better. Non-alcoholic beer with some good label. Gnome and such a great view. We need to ride 110 km today. We already booked the apartments. We need to wash our clothes like charge some devices and you know just have a rest in civilization. Today should be mostly downhills and of course there will be like 1,000 m of elevation but it’s definitely less than in previous days because for last uh 2 days we already climbed around 4,000 m of elevation. It’s like 2,000 per day. Heat. Heat. The weather is really good right now. I would say it’s quite hot and I’d like to to get some fresh air. I completed the last climb for today and then it will be mostly down. Finally, this part with the sand where you can just rest. You don’t need to paddle. Just rest. Woohoo. I just want to film everything. I don’t know. Wherever I see I see only beautiful, beautiful forest, lakes, people, houses, everything. I hope you are not tired looking this short film. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Good morning. Day four. Today we are going to climb a very steep uphill around 1,200 m straight up. And we started our climb almost all all day. We will go up and then a little down. up and up and up. Yes, we are. I wouldn’t tell you that it’s easy, but so far it’s going good. And also really nice that almost everyone respect us like on cars even bikes. So yeah, everyone give us some respect because it’s it’s really crazy climb a small descent. We did Did just few meters left but we climbed this uphill. Put on some fleas also leg warmers over shoes because there will be um really steep downhill and it will be really cold. Right now the elevation is 1,200 m and we are going to descend all the way down to almost zero. Heat up here. I’m exactly in the middle of nowhere. No houses, no trees, no one. Just me and other strangers. Very small uphill, but the wind is so strong that I can’t pedal. Heat up here. This tent was really cold and windy. Sometimes it was really hard to ride because wind is so strong. found a good little uh place for our tents somewhere right here. It’s really close to the public area. So that’s why we are waiting for some time and maybe at 9 or 10 p.m. we will set up a 10 our tents here. Good morning. Day five. Today will be similar to yesterday. Uh at the beginning we are going to climb uh almost the same big mountain around 1,300 m elevation straight up. But the main difference is that today we need to ride more distance around 100 um kilometers. It’s so cold. Even at night was much warmer. So beautiful. Heat. Heat. My derailer just not chipped in properly right now, but I still have the easiest gear at least for climbing. So, I have the needed gear. But for this, we’ll see. We came from the How do you feel? >> Fine. I feel good. Hey, hey, hey. Race taken. Perfect house for introvert. My shifter just doesn’t work. I going to change my gear, but hopefully right now it’s a decent and later there should be some bike shop. Maybe there I can fix it. In the bike shop, they were not able to fix my problem. So, right now, I’m riding a single speed. So, I have only one gear. I can’t shift. But luckily, right now, it is descent mostly. So, and actually I don’t need to to switch gears. So, I can ride one here. But yeah, hopefully later I can fix it. Today we climb more than 2,000 m. So need to Handmade sandwich and beer with some cherry tomatoes. Today we slept a little bit longer. My shifter is not working and the problem can be with shifter itself or with the cable. And we found one bike shop uh which opens today at 11 a.m. And hopefully there we can get some help. But it’s also nice. It’s some kind of uh rest day for us. But coffee first. I usually bring a coffee grinder into my hikes, but it’s too bulky and I can’t fit it in bike packing. Maybe I need to find some small one coffee grinder for bike parking and then I can uh green some beans and always have the the freshest coffee, you know. But this one I just grinded before the trip. Perfect. Unfortunately that bike shop doesn’t provide the bike service and we decided to go pon road uh to the next uh city maybe there we can find some services but it’s Sunday and almost all the shops or services are closed uh that’s why maybe so we will go to that city it’s the name of that city is gold uh maybe we can uh stay there for a night and on Monday we can find some service really nice that it’s mostly downhill. So there will be some uh small uphills but not so crazy so I can manage it. Uh yeah, but happens, you know. Rising downhill is comfortable, but up hills it’s really hard. I mean, I have As you can see, I have really small chain ring on the rear side. Yeah, it’s really hard to to even climb such not so big uphill. Heat. Heat. Good morning. Day seven. We had a really big breakfast and I feel so full. So, and I’m going to the bike shop. Hopefully they have a bike mechanic and I can fix my bike and continue riding our trip. 200 km left to the end. And it will be really nice if I have all my gears. Yeah. So finger crossed my gears back. Now, climbing up hills is much easier with lower gear. Can’t stop thinking about how Norway is beautiful here. Nature is everywhere. Whenever you go, you will find some forest, river, lake, mountains, everything you need to live outdoor life. But the gravel is so compact and so fast rolling. Do you hear this sound? This sound means that my gear is working properly. We already did 1,000 m climb. Heat. Heat. What happened? Last night in the tent. And for today’s dinner, it will be chicken fried rice. Good morning. Day eight, the last one. Today we need to ride about 110 km. with small elevation. Today we don’t need to climb any big uphill. There will be some like small uphills. It’s cold. Norway. Sun just rised and it becomes warmer. Actually, the elevation is about 1,000 m above the sea level. And I think soon we will go down and again it will be warmer because the elevation will be less. A little bit off road for the last day. It’s not getting better. I don’t know how many kilometers we need to go this way. Yeah. But there is no way actually for bike. Some hiking road is here but not biking. Dirty boy. The road is so bad. finally road. It was around 10 km this kind of and I walked it because it was not possible to ride at all. It was really really hard trail for hiking with rocks and definitely not for cycling. Yeah, I’m so happy to see the road actually. Yeah, it’s much better. Guys, this is day eight. You know, eighth day I’m riding my bike in Norway. I can’t believe it. It’s crazy day. Uh 27 km left to the end. Uh Little Hammer. So from Little Hammer we are going by train to Osla. Cheers. They survived.
