2023 cube hyde pro, gates belt drive, shimano nexus 8, 4850km on it. first service was done at a shop at 2500km. i used liqui moly 75w (i think) gear oil and shimano igh grease. took apart and put everything back together the way it was, except i packed some motorex grease under the drive side dust cap. no degreaser used, just wiped everything with a clean rag.
photo of the belt. does the belt look too close to the dust cap? i didnt pack a lot of grease there. if i had to guess, i'd say i used a small grape's worth of grease in terms of volume, all smeared along the inside corner.
i thought maybe i overtightened the cup and cone bearings but the pedal movement suggests maybe the oil is too thick or too much shimano grease?
