I've been riding loaners from the shop the last 2 seasons, and finally pulled the pin on buying one of my own. We built it up yesterday.
I did a tubeless conversion with Fatty Strippers, and hot damn those things are a quick and easy way to make that happen – I'd highly recommend them if you're wanting to ditch the tubes. I added some red reflective 3M tape to the rims, then put the stock rim strips back on, then Fatty Strippers over that.
Muc-Off Big Bore valve stems.
Worked like a charm.
Swapped the stock stem for a 35mm Bontrager Line Elite stem I already had (take-off from my Slash) and put some Raceface Turbine bars on with OneUp grips and dropper remote.
Added a couple red headset spacers for fun.
I also changed out the 10spd Microshift setup for a SLX cassette & derailleur with an XT shifter.
Raceface Turbine pedals, studded the Gnarwhal's, and a threw on a Trek adventure frame bag.
I can hardly wait to get out for a ride this evening 🤘
