Come with us as we explore the zone between Barcelona, Spain, and the southwestern area of Bordeaux, France. We take you along as we stop off in Carcassonne (about halfway to Bordeaux) to show you snippets of this beautiful Unesco world heritage site/town. We enjoyed a ‘quick’ lunch for a moment of respite before jumping back in the car to head to our hotel – ahem, Château – just outside Bordeaux city in the vineyard countryside. We show you the grounds of this stunning hotel, its amenities, and then take you into Bordeaux city, which is just a stunning old-world city. They said Haussmann studied in Bordeaux before moving to Paris, if that helps give you an idea of how stunning Bordeaux is. Yet, it’s quiet, and active. Such a charming city. Hence why it made it to one of UNESCO’s world heritage site list. Would love to go back. The countryside is where it’s at though. There, at the Château Leognan we took you with us to ride bicycles over to the lake, on walks through the flowery fields, and then to La Grand’Vigne, a Michelin star restaurant at the stunning Les Sources de Caudalie hotel. An incredible experience in a beautiful setting that I am so grateful to have experienced with my husband. The vibe was made even more exciting due to the serendipitous friends we made at our wine tasting who wound up sitting directly in front of us at dinner and gifting us a glass of sparkling rosé as an aperitif. (I tell the story before going to dinner in the vlog.) On our last day we visit the town of Saint-Emilion. It’s like a town out of a fairytale. The tallest tower/church you’ve ever seen. Wow. We toured the catacombs – with Koa, dog-friendly – which were insane. I love historical architecture and to put myself in the ground where others once lived and think how they thunk, and about how evolved we’ve become, and what’s possible and also definitely that to come. After the catacombs we ate a quick bite in the plaza and hit the road back to Barcelona for the 7 hour-ish journey.

I’m not getting any faster it seems with editing but I am quite content with the quality of the content so I am just going to continue at the rate these videos leave my hands and heart and go from there! Of course, you can go to the breakfast and also go on the side can go with the so doggies were more than welcome at the restaurant and at the breakfast. everywhere. France is so dog friendly. I love it. A lot of guests actually say that. I didn’t even know it was so complicated. I think in America were not that dog friendly actually. And uh in Spain they’re friendly. They’re very friendly. But it’s I think it’s surprising because no offense, but French are known to be quite sophisticated and the dog is not the most clean thing, you know. Okay. So if you want we can go from the inside. Okay. So I will show you the places where you can have breakfast. Okay. How beautiful. When did this hotel open as a hotel? 2020. Welcome to our gorgeous chateau. Look at this. And look at this sweet little detail that had waiting for me. Okay, we got to get these girls into some water. How sweet. Oh my goodness. So, this is suite number three. In case you ever want to stay here, there is a TV. It’s behind here. I just don’t know if it turns so you can watch it in the bed. And look at this beautiful like mauve brown crushed velvet. Love the tables. They’ve got coffee and little chocolates waiting for us. Look at these horse bookings. Oh my goodness. Love it. Gorgeous mirror. Look at that chandelier. Oh my gosh. And there’s a huge closet. Love this. And how sweet is this bed for Koa? Huge bowl. I’m literally going to give him his food in this because that’s ridiculous. And then here’s the bathroom. A nice shower. Love, love, love these. I like when there’s only one lever. Mwah. And a vanity mirror with a light. That’s fabulous. A bathroom. And then look at this details. It’s like a toilet, but it’s cute. But yeah, look at this. And then you walk out. Look at this pink stripe. It’s so pretty. Oh, they’re coming. This is not so gorgeous. Wow. What a dream. What a dream. This is insane. It’s so beautiful. There’s a little chapel over here. So beautiful. So gorgeous. Wow. I love the lighting and the plants. It’s so gorgeous. Oh my gosh. [Music] Wow. Wow. The sunset. The sunrise is coming. [Music] Good morning. Look at this beautiful room in this light. So pretty to see in the day. We’re headed to breakfast. I’m in an H&M dress that has pockets. It’s much more of a summer dress, but you know, just putting a cardigan with it. And my guy’s in the bathroom hiding. So, off we go. And I’ve got my hunter boots on cuz we are in the water soaked zone. So, ready, guys. This is our breakfast room. Oh my gosh. Gorgeous. [Music] How cute is that little table? Those are their little cars. They’re so cute. And now we’re headed to the reception to go see if we can book into the spa tomorrow for my birthday. Hi guys. [Music] Guys, this place is literally a fairy tale. Look at it. I mean, the church. Look at the church. Wow. Wow. Wow. It is quite fresh right now. I didn’t look at the temperature, but I’m in my dress and my boots so that I can walk easily around here. And uh yeah, we’re just going to take some pictures right now and then we’re gonna head to Bordeaux for a visit to the city. What will we do there? We’re going to look for some oysters for Amado. He’s super craving them and this is the place to have them. And then uh walk around a bit and then I have a lunch planned at um the restaurant that’s just outside of uh the National Opera Theater cuz it has spectacular um architecture. And it was this wind. It was on the Michelin website, so had to go with that. And then after that, like directly after that, we have a walking tour booked with uh Via Tour, um the website. I’ll link it below. And we’ll see how that goes at 400 p.m., which is a I think it’s a 2-hour tour. And then from there, uh, we’ll head back here, which I’m excited to head back here after that because it’ll be sunset. And, uh, tomorrow’s supposed to be extra sunny as if today’s not, but um, it’ll be nice because we can see the sunset with this beautiful chateau. Oh my gosh. So, you actually enter from the like back side of the chateau. So, you really don’t see this coming in, which is why I’m here showing you because Oh, it’s so beautiful. And I’m going to I don’t know where I’m going is. I asked him to come over here, but he’s not to come. But yeah, the the this is so Instagrammable. The the front porch, as you would say in English, but this church, look at it. Oh my goodness. Everything is just so beautiful. Love it. But that’s it for today. I’m going to be not so chatty so I don’t waste my data. How gorgeous. [Music] Ka always takes his bones for a tour of the house of the hotel and then he’ll lay down with it. And this is the complete outfit minus the purse for today. You can’t see my shoes, but there they are. My mango ones. Heat. Heat. Can’t really record the guy, but just thought I’d come on here and let you know. We’re on a side street right now and we were just on like the main shopping street talking about the canle which is like the dessert of Bordeaux. I haven’t had it yet. We have one waiting in our in our hotel room but just not a dessert person and it’s also like from bread uh like um cake bread cakey bread not a thing but yeah beautiful day to the people that we’re seeing the tour with. And now we’re going to this plaza. Sitting here that doorway. Wow. Look like we’re going here. Co is doing so good. So proud of him. This is a busy pla. No. Cute. Yeah, if you follow the trajectory of the walls right around the city, you will find none of the walls. The walls have actually mostly been knocked down. Knocked down actually in the 16th century. You might think, well, that was to expand into the auditorium. It’s very deceitful. It looks very small, but actually the side view very large grass large dome right on top. But if you ask anyone, she’ll tell you. [Music] It’s nice to meet you. [Music] And we’re off to dinner here at the chateau. Let’s go. This guy is exhausted. He’s going to wait here. He’s more than happy. So, okay. [Music] Maybe listen to you. Look how cute this is from outside. It’s so cute. I think people from like the town around here must come here cuz it’s just so cute. This wine cabinet. Yeah. Um, well guys, I am getting ready for bed. I’m in my Zara set with the hair up and ready to wash off this makeup. I don’t know about you, but windy days, they’re like the worst. I’d rather it be rainy than windy. My hair is just like my skin feels super dry. Um, but all in all, I’m so happy that it was sunny and then we had such a good day just eating oysters and crab and then having that beautiful lunch in the theater restaurant which is a well is like known by Michelin, but it doesn’t have a Michelin star. I’ll have to note in the description the famous chef that competes with Gordon Ramsay who has a restaurant on the other side of the street called Le Bordo. um because I cannot say the name of the restaurant we went to in French. But anyways, the tour was good. Couldn’t share much of that, but it would bore you anyways. I mean, it was nice for us. But yeah, and now we just went to dinner in the hotel and my guys just got back in. Go was ready for his bone. So, bon for me, dear. This is a morning. This is a good morning. Good morning. Off to breakfast in the outfit of the day. Good morning, world. This is this morning’s outfit. We’ll see what I wear later. It’s a gorgeous day. Yeah. [Music] And now we’re off to go ride some bicycles. So I have done another outfit change. This one I still have my boots because they are showing to be very useful. And I just had to give Koa a shower because as dogs do, he found like a I don’t know, wild coyote or deer poop and he started rolling in it. So I had to give him a shower quickly. And now we’re running to go to our reservation for our bicycles. I wrapped my mango um what do you call it? I have Amado making faces at me in the corner, so it’s a little bit pressure. But um what is this called? Scarf. I have my scarf wrapped around my Colt Gaia purse like an Hermes because that’s how we do. So yeah. So we need to go and I’m trying to drink a coffee, but mom’s been taking care of every And look, this is my birthday present along with my Hunter boots. It’s a beautiful glass ring done by Bokeh No, is how you say Bokeo. And it’s a Barcelonab based brand. So I highly recommend shopping it. I will link the website below. And yep. Okay, I am way too small for this bicycle. My feet do not touch the ground. So, we’ll see how many scrapes I have at the end of this. But here we go. Beautiful day. And they told us to go to the blue lake. So, we shall see how this goes. The bikes are cuter than I thought cuz we saw somebody else on them. Lovely day. Lovely day. Lovely day. Co. There he is in the room saying excuse me. Just stopping to admire these gorgeous roses. on the path heading to the blue lake. Came from there. This bike is way too big for me, but story. Let’s go. Got my guy. There he is. How genius. I mean, it seems poco genius, but to have a biplane for the bicycles at the side of the road so that the cars don’t have to get over for the bicycles like we do in Spain. This is genius. Safe. Everybody’s comfortable. Happy day. Look at how beautiful. Look at these clouds. It’s literally from a painting. Oh, I’m so happy. It’s my birthday. Did I mention it’s my birthday? It’s my birthday. 38 baby. [Music] How pretty is this? Now they have this beautiful tent. Could you imagine getting married here? It’s so unbelievable. Just walking amongst the flowers. Kind of feel bad stepping on them. I think they’re resilient, right? Here’s the backside, I guess you would say, of the chateau and the church. It looks like over here, maybe they’re building out like a winery visit things. Look like there’s some chicken coupoops and that’s the reception over there. There’s a parking lot here. It’s like a tower. I wonder if that’s for water or if it was like actually a lookout tower. And the day has converted into gray. There’s a little sliver of blue. I’ve got this guy here with me and this guy trailing along. Come on. I love this plant. It’s so like unique looking. It’s like a hydrangeanger but not. Well, guys, I just wanted to do a little check-in because sometimes I forget to do these. I’ve just come into the room for a second to drop off our extras of our um cheeses and meats, our shakuderie board. And uh now we’re going to go into their like wine bar and their reception and have a wine tasting. And then we have to come back and get ready because our dinner reservation at I don’t know how to say it. It’s French. Le Kurule Kuri is um it’s a fancy hotel nearby and it’s a Michelin star restaurant. It’s about 15 minutes from here and it’s my birthday dinner so I’m super super excited. But yeah um what else I was going to say? I wanted to show you the closet because I brought so much clothes. But when we go driving I always try to do that. So those are like used clothes pajamas. These are like socks and underwear and bras, accessories, belts, scarfves, purses, jewelry, and then I have um bottoms and I have shirts and then I have jeans behind there. And then I have my sweaters here and then my green dress. And Amado gets the right side. I don’t know how it’s looking, but yeah. And then I brought one, two, three, four. The one I’m wearing, five coats, and a blazer. And then I have all my shoes down here. So yeah. Um I just thought I’d show you the closet and what I brought because I think it’s always interesting. I love it because now Amado does not put up a stink about how much clothes I bring. He chooses his battles. But when we’re driving and we have space in the car for our luggage, why not? Happy wife. Happy life. Oh, that’s how it used to be designed. Wow. [Music] Yeah. Anyways, initially start. So, if you have no time, never go to. So, I am a amidst picking my outfits and I have my Aritzia pants and I don’t know if I’m going to be able to show you. I have my wedding shoes with me, but I don’t think they’re going to get worn tonight because I’ve gone with another outfit that’s much more like winery countryside style, but like fancy. So, you’ll see that when I’m dressed. This is a super cute outfit. I actually really, really, really like it, but I’ll save it for another occasion. Yeah, we just met a girl and a guy a woman and a man from Texas and so funny. She has a spa in Austin and she knows of the company that Amado works for. It was just such a a a small world connection that it was refreshing for me as an American to meet like another American here in Bordeaux of all places. So yeah, kind of on a little high from that. And casually they have a reservation at the same place as us tonight. So, and they’re staying in a different place. So, it was really strange that we met, but that’s how life works. Well, guys, this is the birthday look. My skirts, my Tony Biano shoes, my accessory of a man. Look at him in his Ugo boss. Grandma’s diamonds. My Louis mini and top and skirt are from Zara. And my belt is mango. My coat is mango. And like I said, shoes are Tony Biano. So super excited to be showing them off tonight cuz it’s the first time. Yeah, that’s it. Heading to dinner at a Michelin star restaurant at Le Deuli. It’s a hotel that has a restaurant inside of it and it’s called L Grand Vin. Yes. So off we go. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Well guys, I think this trip is going to come to an end with recording right now just because we’re packing up the luggage. Maybe I’ll show some clips after where we’re going now. We’re going to Santa Million. Um, we have a tour of the church there. It’s an hour from here inland, so that would be east. Yeah, we’re I don’t know if KOA can come. So, we’re going to see how this goes. And from there, I can see my guys walking KA right now. And from there, we’ll go back to Barcelona, which is like a 6-hour drive. And so, if our tour is at 2:00 p.m. And it’s a 45minute tour. We’ll not be leaving here and or Santa Million until 3. And so, we probably won’t get home for 7 hours because we’ll have to stop a couple times. So yeah, it’s going to be a long journey. It’s been really great. I um actually was very sick last night. I had a fever. I was sweating. I I think something in our bajillion plates that we had on did not sit well with me. I think I am like a very I don’t want to say basic eater, but like healthy. Not that the stuff that we were eating last night wasn’t healthy, but I think it was just a mix of too many things. Like we had crab with caviar and then we had like cod with I don’t know what. Then we had like a raw a raw like cut of steak and I don’t like my steak raw and you know one thing after the other after the other and yeah I don’t think my body was down for that. So yeah I wasn’t in the best state but luckily I woke up and I started to feel better after shower and whatnot. So um just feeling a bit fragile today. Um, but just glad that I I do feel better and I can have my eyes open because I was like this so much pain. Um, here there. Uh, we are going to pack up and I’m going to wrap up this vlog.
