One of the Premier League’s biggest tests awaits Lead United this afternoon. An away game against Manchester City, a side with title aspirations still despite the gap behind Arsenal. The ball comes in from the near side touch line. It’s into the penalty area and the ball is cut back into the middle and Manchester City have taken the lead. The ball came back into the middle and the shot came in off the underside of the crossbar from Phil Foden as Manchester City cut one into the middle and there’s a great block on its way to goal. Still alive and then the second shot from the edge of the area from Gonzalez is deflected up and over the top. But that was a quite brilliant block again. It’s swung in under the crossbar. Perry sits in the back of the net and there’s a crowd of players around the ball and Perry couldn’t get to it. And I think the final touch may have been made by Guardi Hall. And from close range, it’s an easy tuck in. Only Bogle stays back. Gue goes high in the air. Donnaruma punches not entirely convincingly. Driven back forwards by Ampedu. Can’t quite get to the ball, but leads do pick it up. Now Tanaka. Now Calbertt Lewin spins in the penalty area and slides the ball in. Dominic Calbertt Lewin for lead United has took the ball home. Mistakes made at the back by Manchester City. Calbertt Lewin capitalized. Flick on by Calbertt Lewin and it’s back into the box for Calbertt Lewin and he goes down under a challenge. Penalty. Penalty to Leads. Meta. Hands on hits. Gets the signal. Meta runs up strikes the ball. Meta saved. Finishes. Yes. Leads the level off. Donor Roma back into the path of Meta. Leads from two down. And now it’s 2-2. Magnificent Diaz to his right for Nunez and Cherky in the box. Low pass in the middle. Foden shapes to shoot and he scores in added time. Phil Foden found space and put his shot beyond the dive of Perry. Perry comes out the penalty area. He’s got to spot this up. You might as well throw everybody forward. They are throwing everybody forward. entire leads cohort moves up into the city half and as the free kick drops the whistle goes and the leads players well they can feel really really disappointed at the outcome here because it was a magnificent second half performance to get back from 2-0 down to 2-2 to take the game to Manchester City and only to fall to a 91st minute goal from Phil Foden
