I recently purchased a new Canyon Ultimate CF SLX 8 Di2 road bike. During the assembly process at my local bike shop, we encountered a problem with the bolt that secures the fork clamp. Specifically, the bolt appears to be either overtightened or jammed in such a way that we were completely unable to loosen or remove it, even after attempting with standard bicycle tools and applying an appropriate amount of torque.
After researching online, I’ve found that several other Canyon bike owners have experienced similar issues with this particular clamp bolt. The recommended solution from Canyon is to bring the bike to a Canyon Authorized Service Partner (ASP) for assistance. Unfortunately, the nearest ASP is approximately a four-hour drive from my location, so I would prefer to exhaust other possible solutions before resorting to that option.
Given these circumstances, any recommendations on how to carefully and safely remove the fork clamp bolt without risking any damage to the cockpit or surrounding components?
Any advice on best practices, or specific tools or lubricants that might help, would be greatly appreciated.
