I bought this set of Shimano Torbal's about a decade ago. These things rock!
They have done everything that I could ask of a winter boot and more. They have kept my feet warm on 2 hour mtb rides in the snow at 4 degrees F. They also have kept them dry and warm when I have dabbed a stream in the middle of a winter ride.
It used to be that a brand would have legendary performance and only after years of that would the brand be able to command a premium from an audience of consumers.. Now, not so much.. I see a lot of sub standard junk that gets offered without an earned reputation. (Looking at you Bontrager…)
I just gave these kicks a little spruce up by sewing the neoprene cuffs back up where they split at the seam. Easy to do and they will probably be good for another 5 years of riding.
I don't work for Shimano so this isn't some pump up their shoe sales thing.. I just appreciate quality and getting more than what I paid for.. I know this sport can be expensive and that there are a lot of riders that feel the same way.. So I just wanted to pass this along. If you are in the market for a winter boot.. These are a great choice! 🍻
