I cycle 36 miles from Carlisle to Vindolanda

On day two of my trip, I’ll be leaving Carlile and ending up at Vindolanda Roman Fort. Heat. Heat. Heat. Hey, Heat. Love grenade. Hey, hey, hey. The twice brewed in is quite near to Winterland. It’s also close to sycamore car. They’ve got their own brewery here. And this is their beers. This is the sycamore gap there. It’s got a pale straw gold hue with a slight haze. The aromomas of lemon zest and a touch of grapefruit and it’s very refreshing. I think uh peach and maybe a hint of lemon. The bitterness is there but it’s crisp and restrained. This is the Vindoland IPA. It’s a deep golden amber and it’s also got a slight haze. And we’re getting tropical fruit, mango, and passion fruit. Up front, it’s all about juicy hops. Think pineapple and grapefruit. That is quickly followed by a toasty malt character adding depth and a touch of sweetness to balance out the bitterness. How did they do? Well, the pale goes to number two and the IPA stays at number four.
