Who knew that once a year Victoria Gate carpark becomes a HUGE racetrack?!
‘Rampage’ sees cyclists of all abilities putting their legs and lungs to the test by cycling up the top floors of the car park as quickly as possible! And even better… It’s all for charity!
The heartwarming reason behind it, is the Kids On Bikes scheme 👏
Yorkshire Children’s Charity and Olympian cyclist Tom Pidcock teamed up to create the initiative, which gives inner-city children the opportunity to learn how to ride a bike out in the countryside. Many of the children involved have never had a bike before, so it’s all about giving them a chance to give it a try! 🚲
This year, Rampage has raised over £6,500 already! What an effort!

One of the busiest car parks in Leeds emptied and turned into an epic racetrack. [Applause] This is Rampage, where it’s sunglasses on and pedals at the ready for the ultimate uphill endurance challenge. The Yorkshire Children’s Charity are behind it, raising funds to change lives. 3 miles away, the money raised makes this possible. Launched by Olympic cyclist Tom Pidcock in partnership with the charity, Kids on Bikes gives children from inner city areas the chance to learn how to ride for the first time. Well done. And crucially out in the fresh air of the countryside. It’s so important. It’s important for kids mental health. It’s important to for them to understand like the freedom that a bike can bring and being out in the countryside, especially if you are living in the city center. It’s surrounded by concrete. It’s that breath of fresh air. This year, Rampage raised over £6,500. You can still donate via the link in our bio, or if you’re a business or individual, you can sign up to compete next year, too.
