I found a battery powered rack mounted light in my parts bin and added it to the G-Line rack. Due to the shape of the light, I had to mount it upside-down so it could clear the fender. This is not ideal… the light is too close to the ground when the bike is folded, and I have to lift the rear wheel fairly high when folding to avoid knocking the light off.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a battery powered rack-mounted light for the G-Line?

In other G-Line news, I loaded the bike with about 30 pounds of canned goods during the annual Cranksgiving fundraiser last week. It rode just fine and the carrier block survived. Used the Brompton large messenger bag and a Swift Industries Catalyst saddle bag on a Bagman rack. The Catalyst/Bagman combo worked better than expected. It kept the bag away from my thighs and it allowed the seatpost to be fully dropped during the fold. I may use this combo again during upcoming day tours.

Last week I noticed a persistent creaking coming from the handlebars. I discovered the stem bolts and handlebar bolts had gotten a bit loose. I torqued them back to spec and all is well.

My seatpost bung fell out again (for good this time) during a trail ride this morning. Good riddance…that thing was always falling out and it annoyed the heck out of me.
