The youngest person to ride from Land to Jagro where all kinds of food. You having an ice cream? Yeah. Yeah. Go on then. In you go. My favorite place was Perf because people gave us lunch. Thank you for our food. Our journey took us over 3 weeks. Why don’t you try a big bike ride? Where will you go? I want to ride my bicycle. [Applause] Hi, another lady. Welcome everybody, Ruth and Roda, to the show. Look at your snazzy shoes. Are these special for the bike? Yeah, these are our trainers that we use to ride our bikes. Oh, I’m not great on a bike. Yeah. And my sister can teach. Do you have hope that I can become better? Yeah. Yeah. Thank you, Roa. Thank you. What are like the main things like if someone was like, I’m going to start biking. How would you tell them to do it? put either if you’re right-handed or left-handed, you you would put your left pedal up, which is on this side. I put my right pedal up to start, and my sister puts up her left. Did you know you’re supposed to do that? Look at Nobody I don’t think anyone knew this. They’re all like, “We’ve been riding a bike wrong.” Maybe it’s cuz we’re Americans. What do you think of Americans? That crazy. I think you might be right. Just across the board. Is that the general consensus? Like Americans are crazy. I think I think you’re right. What’s a normal day for you guys? Do you like sleep on the bike, eat your breakfast on the bike, go to school on the bike, stay on the bike in the classroom? We do nothing like that on the bike. Really? Seriously? No. Never eat on the bike. You never You never have like a snack on a bike. We get off and have snacks. Now, what are your what are your musthaves like on the bike when you go on like a big bike adventure? You’d have to take like a sleeping bag. You’re sleeping like in out in tents. We have bivie bags to go over the top of our sleeping bags. What are BB bags? Vivie bags. No, bags. Is that Do I say like you? Be bags. By bags. How do I say? How do I say it right? Bivvie bags. Bivy bags. Um, so see I think you were convinced. She was like, “Oh boy, this is why I can’t say simple words.” Now, when you’re on your bikes and it’s getting hard, is that when the roaring starts? Yeah. Can you explain what what is that? What’s So, Roda likes doing it when she climbs a big hill. What’s it sound like? Can you show me? And mine’s a lot more serious. [Laughter] And this helps you get up a hill and frighten people. What animal are you? What are you thinking in your head? Like I’m a lion. What are you? Uh tiger, turtle, tiger, dolphin, tiger, guinea pig, tiger. Tiger. You sound like a tiger. You guys have got to have like crazy leg muscles, right? I mean, you’re you’re strong. Show me your show me your muscles. No. Ow, it hurts. You guys are like rubber bands. Yeah, I can do the splits, but not in the skirt. That’s a very different show. So, what like when you’re not biking, do you do other sports or you just like because your whole family, you guys are all bike crazy. We we do swimming, ballet, and running. When do you sleep? Uh, bedtime. Are you guys going to show me? Yeah. What’s in the bags? Is it a big ones? Nope. So in our front ones, we have got three. I’ve got yours is so nothing gets in your eyes, right? Yeah. Like the sun, hail, and that stuff. And these are our head torches. This is my rain cape. Oh, your rain cape. These are jelly beans. Now, I know that you girls, you have your next goal that you want to bike across our lovely country. And I wish I could show you that, but I kind of grew up on a farm, so it was gravel roads and there were no other kids to ride bikes with, so I’m kind of terrible on a bike. But I had an idea. Can I Can I kind of take you on a tour of my country? Yes. Okay, let’s go over there. Can I Let’s get to All right, ladies. Let me introduce you to some of the US. Well, it’s usually pretty peaceful here, except there’s occasionally a bear, but I don’t think we’re going to see that any. So, wait a minute. I’ve got very bullet. Get him. Very, very telling for Americans. We just attack wildlife. Continuing up the West Coast, ladies. Welcome to Seattle, home of Starbucks. the Space Needle and the famous flying fish at Pikes Peak Market. I think you’re going to find these come in a little bit of handy while you’re in Seattle. We’ll we’ll cook a muppy later. Oh my gosh. Yeah, we have a little campfire. We’ll have a little camp. I will be snuggling up in my sleeping bag. What’s the other one called? What goes on top of the sleeping bag? Bivby bag. Bippy booby boobies. Now, we’re going to move on to a lovely place, Oklahoma and the Great Plains. This area is known for as the Great American Bread Basket. It may be known in a little bit. All right. Well, we’ll take another step, but also known as tornado between us and the twister. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Let’s go. Get out. It’s ging on us. All right. I think we’re clearing out. All right. I think we’re coming out of it. I think we’re coming out of it. You guys okay? Yeah. Coming into a new place, ladies. New York City, near city, Manhattan. Average speed. You can slow it down cuz you can only go about a quarter of a mile an hour here as the traffic is just terrible. Largest city in the US. Did you know that? Also known for different things like Watch where you’re going. I’m walking here. You know what? Berry Pellet works for New Yorkers, too. [Music] [Applause] Now you’re you’re just like Americans now. Ruth Roa, you are absolutely adorable and really exhausting and I can’t believe you did this for three straight weeks. It’s so impressive. We will be right back. And then I’m just going to ice my quads for a bit [Applause] [Music] tonight. Little big shots. Get some backup. [Music] Let’s roll. [Music] Coming from a family of police officers and nuns, it’s true. It’s a real combo. I’ve seen how much work and care it takes to be a good cop. My next guest doesn’t shy away from long hours walking his beat to make his community a better place. This is Officer Oliver. [Applause] Hi. Are you, Officer Oliver? Yeah. I’m so glad you’re here. Oh, I got to be good now. What made you fall in love with the thought of being a police officer and what they do? They help people and I just wanted to be one of her. So, I’ve been taking flowers and nursing homes and I’m going to keep doing this rope. Okay. I I follow you. You’re the boss. I know not to fight with the police. So, I’ve been giving cookies to the police officers and they liked it and they gave me all these badges and cuz you’re making you’re making all these people feel so good, aren’t you? Stop. And she she’s not the best at she’s not the best at training, but she’s good at eating donuts with me. That’s Yes. One day I want Ruby to start coming to nursing homes with me. Oh, and I think it would be good with her kisses, my hugs. These one tiny bit because one tiny tiny bit of kindness can change the whole world. And I want to change the whole world. But I want to do a freebie. I think you’re going to How’s the two cute ticket business going? So good. I went to a nursing home this year and they said the girl hasn’t said one word in 5 years and she said uh that I’m so cute. You are so nice and everything. That’s amazing. And then when he was 2 and 1/2 months, they told us that he was blind. I’m fully blind in one eye, like this eye, and partly blind in this eye. Good morning, guys. Good morning, David. Good morning, David. Music is helping me connect to the world. Whenever I touch anything, it creates a melody for me. He was born with music inside of him. It’s like a rhythm and a beat and a melody. It’s magical. When I write music, it just comes out of me. I don’t read music. I play everything by ear. Music is my world. I’d be a little bit sad if music didn’t exist. I think as a mom, I am the vessel for him to bring this music to the world. There’s just magic in every moment. Beautiful. A good everyone. All right. I am so glad you’re here. Thank you so much. Now, what what was the first song that you learned to play? Um the Rudolph the Reno’s reindeer. You know you know the song. I do. You know the song Rudolph these reindeer bonk. How’s that? Like how am I going to get these people to call? Katie, did you give them the wrong digits? Come on. I have a feeling that they’re not only going to give you their numbers someday, but they’re going to be trying to collaborate with you. You got to get your people to call my people. Oh my god. Oh my god. If I run into either one of them, I will definitely say give them your digits, right? Yeah. Give them your digits. Yeah. If it’s not going to win the world is all about. Now, what do you about performing? Do you like performing in front of people? Like, do you like to feel the energy? I love doing that. Does this impress you in any way? a little bit. You’re just being nice. You’re just being nice because you want me to get you Katy Perry’s phone number. No, that is not the truth though. Now, you and I share a favorite song, Rocket Man by Elton John. That’s one of my absolute absolute favorites. Is there any chance that you would you’d play that for us tonight? Okay. All right. Rocket man burning a hell [Music] [Applause] and I think it’s going to be a long long time. [Music] [Applause] [Music] That’s how you do it. That’s how you do it. That is how you do it. I heard your speech about gun violence. Will you say it for me? Yes. I have a dream that enough is enough and that this should be a gunfree world. Period. Enough is enough. Let’s go see where your grandfather was born. Spencer is an Academy Award-winning actress, a philanthropist, and delightfully for me, a dear friend for over 20 years. While she was recently in Atlanta, she met up with Yolanda King, an 11-year-old activist that is carving out her own path towards a safer and more peaceful world. We shall overcome. Deep in my heart, I do believe we shall overcome. We are in Atlanta at the childhood home of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. I have the utmost privilege and honor to meet his only grandchild, a young activist herself, Yolanda Renee King. I’m so excited to meet Octavia. I couldn’t sleep last night. Hi. Hi. I’m Yolanda and I sleep. I know you are. Can I have a hug? Yes. I’m excited to share the stories about my family with her and about my life. You want to go inside and see what all the excitement is? Yes. All right. You going to show me around? Yeah. Let’s let you in. I love it here. You like coming here? Yes. In most black homes in the ’60s, people had pictures of Jesus. And can you guess one other person? My grandpa. Yep. That’s so cool. Isn’t that cool? I had a picture of him growing up in my house. I know you know by now that your grandfather changed the world. I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character. I have a dream today. And here we are in his childhood home. And I’ve never been here. And I bet you a lot of people have never been here. So, this is going to be exciting for a lot of people. Oh, wow. The dining room. Mashed potatoes and peas. That’s all very southern. You’re in chocolate cake. Chocolate cake is a necessary food group. What did your father pass down to you that he learned from his father? to be passionate about my education and just believe in yourself. High five in that for family. Families are really important to my grandfather. Back then they were better, I guess, about family because now we’re always on our phones and stuff. That is very true. You’re not doing that, are you? I need to get better. We need to get better. Pinky swear on that. We’re going to get better. You write speeches. Yes. I heard your speech about gun violence. Will you say it for me? Yes. I have a dream that enough is enough and that this should be a gunfree world. Period. Enough is enough. Let’s go see where your grandfather was born. It’s very welcoming. You just get this warm, warm feeling. So here is where my grandpa was born. H well this is where Dr. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. was born. Mhm. So when you sit down to write your speeches, what do you take from here? This is where everything started. He saw inequality and instead of just being a bystander, he decided to make a difference and that’s what really inspires me and I think that’s what inspires a lot of people. Yeah. I usually speak from my heart. Sometimes the night before my speeches, I’ll listen to his speeches. His quotes mean a lot. Sometimes my questions that I have in life are answered in my grandpa’s speeches. You are a part of American history, the legacy of Dr. King, but you have your own dreams. We are going to be are going to be a great generation, a great for little kids who want to make a difference in the world. How can they make a change? Confidence. You don’t always have to be a speaker. You can, if there are rallies in town, you can go to them. You can make posters to help. All you have to do is believe in yourself and you can make a difference. You know what? Standing here right now, I feel like I’m touching the past and I’m seeing the future. Honey, you’re the future. I know you. [Applause] [Music] When I first saw a video of our next little big shot, I told the network, I said, “You have to fly me and the entire audience to Hawaii to see this girl. She’s that amazing.” NBC said, “Absolutely not.” And I thought, “Why do you not want to get three jumbo jets and send everyone to Hawaii? Wait a minute. That probably doesn’t make a lot of sense.” So instead, we brought our next amazing kid across the Pacific to us. This is Hane. My name is Ryan, but you can call me Hane. And I live in Ocean View, Hawaii, and that’s the southernmost point of the USA. Music and dancing runs in my family. All the men are musicians and lots of the women are hoola dancers. So I started dancing hoola when I was 5 years old. I like dancing because I get to put on makeup and wear flowers. Hula dancers always wear lace. I like wearing lace because it just looks really pretty on me and it smells really good. Lays symbolize love and when you give a le you’re giving love to that person. My mom makes everything like dance. I help her like gather all the flowers. It’s really rewarding and it makes me feel super happy and proud. [Music] Hula, you have to be very graceful and you have to be strong in your movements and you have to smile and you have to always bend your knees. Anytime I move my hand, it’s telling the story. I love songs about love and the ocean. I think it’s important for Honey to continue to dance hoola. It’s such a big part of our culture and it’s important to spread it all over. The song I’m going to be dancing on stage makes me really proud to live on the Big Island. I just love the song. [Applause] [Music] Hi, girl. Hi. Oh, thank you. Thank you. Oh, look at how beautiful this is. Oh my god. Did your mom make all of this? Yeah. It is so beautiful. I can’t tell you how how good you smell cuz this is all It’s all fresh flowers and even this is it’s just gorgeous. I feel like I should have more foliage on. I don’t think everybody knows, but like every little move in the hoola means something, right? It’s it really is telling a story. Yeah. Do you have a favorite move? Uh my favorite move is called a back bend and a roll. What does that look like? You have to show you right now. Yes. Okay. Are you kidding? How do you say no to that? Oh, it’s beautiful. And what does what does that mean? Oh, it doesn’t mean anything. I would love to say, let me try that. But go. No, no, no, no. You can’t unring that bell. Now, is there any motion that you can tell us like what it means? Just so next time we see hoola, we’re like, “Oh, I know what that means.” This is called wind, but in Hawaiian it’s kamaki. Kamakani. Yeah. And this is the wind. Yeah. It is so beautiful. Now, what do you do when you’re not dancing? I love surfing. You’re so much cooler than I’m ever going to be. I like putting on makeup. What kind of makeup do you wear? Just what’s your favorite? A little lash. Yeah. Do you ever get a little sparkle going? Highlighter. What? No. You’re going to dance for us in a little bit. Yeah. All right. Why don’t you set up and we’ll see you when you’re ready. From the great island state of Hawaii, please welcome Hon. And from the movie The Greatest Showman, another great Hawaiian, Aahu’s own Kia. [Music] Who am I here? My [Music] o [Music] my amen. Yeah. Hanoch. [Music] B O [Music] I A.
