I left my hometown without knowing what to expect on this journey. In theory, I was well prepared and had backup plans for many different cases, but cycling the first kilometers felt so serial. Never in my life before I have done something similar. But one thing I knew for sure, this trip will change everything for me. 20,000 km by bike, sleeping outdoors, and joining the craziest student events. A story about open borders, intercultural understanding, and searching for a European identity. My name is Jonathan, and I’m presenting Europe by Bike 25. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat up here. Heat. Heat. In the first night, the temperatures went down to -2° and my body was shaking in the sleeping bag. As soon as the first sunlight touched the ground, I left the tub and moved my legs to warm up. And after 1 hour of cycling, the cold was gone. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. It was my first time navigating with the bike computer. So on the first two days, I still had to figure out how it was working and which settings are the best for me. That led to some hours of delay. But finally, I fixed it. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. N. Heat. Heat. Hey. And before I realized what was happening, it was already day three and I was in the middle of the greatest adventure of my life. This day was hot and I was tired, but the beautiful landscape and cute small towns of South Germany made it definitely worth it. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. I don’t know if you can see it, but this slope is crazy. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. I do. Hey Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. I was supposed to reach Munich on the third day and my host was already waiting for me. Also, I was tight on schedule and wanted to leave Munich already the next day. That’s why I decided to take a train from Auxburg to skip the last few kilometers. Shout out to Roberto from Elgen Munich who hosted me even two times during my trip. Also, he supported me from day one of the project and is always up to discuss new ideas.
