Good morning. Welcome to Tabore in Czecha. We visit here quite often in Cyclacross. It is a wonderfully historic place and we’re ready to bring you the UCI World Cup cycle for junior women. from Poland, Lena Corona from Germany, Eda. We’re about to welcome the riders in this women’s junior race onto the start line. Getting themselves lined up. 45 riders will be on our start line today. Keeping themselves nice and warm as the men juniors did. United States. It’s chilly. The sun is out. It’s starting to warm up a little bit. Quite as cold as the men’s race. Germany says minus 9 though. Might have warmed up a degree or so from that minus 9. And there is the conditions under the tires. Very frosty. Luckily, there’s not a really strong wind blowing across this course right now. start list. Then I’ll let you take a little look at the start list of our 45 riders. 13 nations are represented today. Really strong uh checker team. USA with a lot of riders here. The Dutch squads Belgium only with two riders. The Italians who did so well in the men’s junior race. Another strong team of riders here from Italy. Really international field lining up for this Cyclross World Cup. The first round. Looking forward to seeing which rider is going to come out at the top as our last few riders. Liliana Edwards, the last rider on that list. Well, the countdown’s already started. Not too far away from the start of this race. We’re looking forward to seeing how it unfolds. I hope you’re settled in for a chilly morning. Two minutes to the start. Two minutes. As we hear from our junior women announcer, we’ve got two minutes to the start now. The world champion is ready. There she is in that world championship jersey. Lee Revol of France. The American rider Watson. Riders just waiting for that last moment where they can peel off those jerseys. The British champion Maya Roach Ninka Yams of the Netherlands wearing her Dutch jersey. Italians employed by their performance earlier on today. One minute. One minute then. Let’s see who gets the best start. Well, the expectation of a season. Now, let’s see how these riders have prepared. 30 seconds. One more time. 30 seconds to the start and the tape is now drawn back. The last checks are done. You can see how cold it is. Just the breathing of these riders. You have to have warmed up well for this cipher cross. We’re on red. We wait for green. We’re underway. And a massive sprint off the start line. Ladies and gentlemen, another race. World champion tucks in on the wheel. European champion up towards the front. The American gets a nice line on the inside. Like Adah Watson. He just managed to sneak through and it was Ayah Watson is the rider who takes the lead for the USA Watson and American junior results in her career so far and she’s really lining this out. See the American rider up there and tustling for the front positions. But it’s the European champion who takes over. Barbara, European champion, second in the World Championships. Season starts though. Little bit of congestion here at the back. You need to be in the front positions otherwise you just get washed away. And we have a Czech winner here in Czecha for this junior world cup. That would be a big moment. Everyone looking for the right lines. Just trying to stay over there on that right hand side. Then jump across and then you’re able to take the left hand turn that’s coming up. Little issues there at the back, but the world champion has come out in the lead. Police revolve just setting a nice tempo now. Sun just shining into that camera as we get that shot of the rider Zeli Lambear of France. Got to be patient on this course. We saw that in the men’s junior race. Don’t make too many mistakes. The world champion is making no mistakes whatsoever. She’s just riding away. Already has got daylight. Great performance in the early stages here by Lisa Raval. 17 years of age, the world champion on that beautiful shot as we see the riders moving back and forward and round the looms. Well, this Raval is a rider who’s starting to be really noticed now. Her performances at junior level are pretty exceptional. There she is. Bit of a gap for the second place rider. Second in the junior road race championship of France, second in the junior time trial of France as well. necessarily focus too much on the roads. Yam’s trying to come across just a 4 seconds behind the world champion. Nice atmosphere on these steps. Let’s revolve. Can she maintain this advantage? Let’s take a little Oh. Oh, that was a little pain from Stumble. Offs started to ride back towards Lisa Revol there making a little mistake. Group of riders behind will try and work together in there. Giorgio Peladi Maya Roach champion just flowing her way through this course, isn’t she? making things look very very easy and opening up an advantage now of what was 4 seconds and is starting to accelerate right now we can see the really strong the Italian rider le Bianke trying to close this gap a few moments ago in the first half of the first. She looks very comfortable as she works her way past the pits. And just behind her, then she glances across. She’s got both lights and she’s able to ride very confidently right now for the European champion as well. She goes into the pits representing Czech Republic. Question is whether she wants to go so early. Two Italians, one British rider with Pelotani and Roaching the Champion trying to come back now. Got himself on the podium this time. Everyone taking this a little bit more cautiously over the hurdles. Not prepared to funny hop them. Let’s see how the world champion Zoe Roaching this little group of riders behind. The Great Britain team in the mixed relay when they won the gold medal. They’re starting to work well together this group. The world champion still opening up this advantage. She just pedals away swiftly through these corners, making it look nice and steady. No one is able to come back yet. There’s that group of riders behind. If they can work themselves together and bring themselves back to the front just with the momentum they’ve got between them and they’ll do well. There’s the Italian rider leading this quartet. The European champion is in there. So, if they’ve got this bit of work between them, they may well be able to come back. Another problem for the French rider there who hits the deck. That’s Ellie Lombair. A group of riders behind working together and trying to close this gap. about 11 seconds down right now. So, there’s a lot of work to be done doesn’t seem to be traveling much faster than him, but she’s just very, very good through the various little corners. She’s taking time where no one else is able to take time. Now coming up now towards the end of lap number one leader. Make a way through this turn now. I think we’re going to end up with a fourlap race if my calculations are right. We know on the next lap the world champion leads Lee Raval the French rider’s already broken away. No one is able to follow the power of this rider. crosses the line now. Here’s the chasing group now. Numbers five. 905 first lap. And there’s the chase. 22.3 km an hour. They’re 10 seconds down. The chasing groups of the Czech team, Bianke of Italy, Maya Zoe Roach of Great Britain, Georgia Pelti of Italy, and Ninka Yam. So riders coming across the line now fighting for points looking to try and put themselves into the at least a point winning position in the World Cup because at the end of the day it’s all about the various different rounds and how many points you can accumulate. just works her way through that turn every now and then out the saddle taking massive risks. You can see now where the riding has happened that the track is starting to melt a little bit. It was absolutely solid now. There’s a lot more traction underneath those tires, but it is a little bit damper. So, you’ve just got to be a bit careful. Maya Rose from Great Britain and Na from Netherlands with big. Can these riders bring this back? A lot of work to be done. I’m at mccrossen. If you’d like to follow during this day of racing, a long day of racing at mccrosen uci cycling. Tim O’Neal just asking, “Do we have trade teams in the junior race?” No, they all ride for their national squads. You just see the trade teams in the elite races generally, but in the junior racing, all about riding for your nation. That’s why you are seeing all the different representations here. And they generally come and travel here with their uh their junior contingent of their various federations. So, our group of riders behind Lee Revol is the leader, the 17-year-old rider from France. This young French rider really is dominant, isn’t she? There’s just no one is able to follow her. She’s also won the mixed relay, the world’s mountain bike championships from the VA department of France. Very sporty person. started with athletics and then starting to ride cyclross. Big question is where she going to end up as a world tour team if she ends up going on the road or maybe she’s just going to focus on being a cyclross rider. Oh, that’s a shame. A problem there for Granaing. It’s a long walk if you have a mechanical problem. This rider is so impressive having won the junior world title in her first year as well. She made in Kaggali in the individual time trial. 22nd overall in the Kaggali individual time trial. She’s had a fantastic season last year. this French rider, second in the junior French championships as we mentioned in the road and the time trial. Gold medal in the French team in the mountain bike world championships alongside Luanna Lac, Joshua Dubal, Livsteep, Adrian Bis, and Lucas testing CRana. Then went to the world road championships, rode the individual time trial. We didn’t see her in the road race. She was ill before the road race. Work our way through the pits again. The gap right now is hovering 13 14 seconds. Just got to keep this momentum up and not let the riders come back at her. Looks like she’s still full of riding. She’s the European champion with that white jersey with the blue and the stars on it. Zoe Roach, the British rider in second wheel there in that little group looking for a podium finish. Tired legs already. You can see here comes after her crash. The next French rider lomb. Oh, nicely bunny hopped. A checker rider. Lucy Groa. I think if you can bunny hop these planks, then you really do get a massive advantage up to 15 and 12 minutes of racing. And there’s the visible gap between the world champion at the front and the chasing group of riders. Well, we haven’t been showing the Union World Cup at all. It’s nice to be able to bring you that today. First opportunity maybe to see these riders in action. Keeps the cadence high, doesn’t she, as she works her way along this particular section. Looking good, the world champion. At the moment, you would say no one is challenging her at all. A 905 first lap. The next group of riders were 10 seconds behind at the end of that first lap. Canovska get some sort of momentum going here. She’s certainly chasing hard. She’s got one Italian for company. Why is Ooey Roach there just behind with a little bit of a deficit. Every now and then it looks like there’s a little bit of momentum then someone starts to suffer a little bit and you wonder just how much Lisa Revol is just managing this situation at the front. She’s obviously a very aware bike rider. She’s riding within herself but wants to bring this race back together. She’s forcing hard now. Abraovska finished third last year in the World Cup. She won the last round in Hugah Haidider. So we know that she’s a very strong bike rider in terms of the cycle cross discipline. Last year she really get on form until the second round. She finished second in the second round, third in the third round, fourth in the fourth round, then won the final round. The end of lap number two. We are going to have a fourlap race as we predicted a little while ago. And the leading rider after two laps is the world champion Lee Revol France. But this gap is closing. Two laps covered. smaller revol 905 lap again. How is it right now? It’s only gone 95 95 been taken on board here and right now it’s only taking on a little bit of fuel. And so the front riders are Lee Revolt. Seven seconds now to Mikovska. Helen Salty is with her and it’s a gap of around 5 seconds to Alisa Bianke. She’s with My Zoe Roach and a big gap to Lucy Grover at 38 seconds. The world champion needs to find a little bit of pace here. The European champion is starting to really push the tempo. they come together at the front. If they do, be surprised if these two riders, the British rider and the Italian do come back into the race. Just depends how much lease Raval is managing this effort right now. It’s always difficult to be out on your own. You got to keep yourself going. We got to be aware of what’s going on going on behind. between the second and third place rider and the fourth fourth and fifth place rider on the road. Able to see Elise Revol in front of her which is helping her a little bit. She rides those steps very well. Runs up them gets the momentum going hard with that little rise next because it really does hurt you over the top there. like the Italian rider Bianke is trying to get rid of the British rider Roach. So here, as opposed to the men’s race where we had a real tussle, here the world champion is just maintaining a lead, very in control. Looks across, just checks what the situation is. Almost like a team pursuit on the track on that little section. 10 seconds hasn’t really changed. So Lisa Revol’s second lap was a 9005. Bikovska’s second lap was a 9002 and that’s the fastest lap of the race so far. But in fact, Pelad Zotti was slightly faster by five of a second. That average speed of that lap 21.90 km an hour. Looks like suddenly the European champion is trying to use this section to close the gap. See the world champion just in front of her. He’s going to draw peladi with her. World champion glances around. Now there’s a little bit more of rock and roll in those shoulders for the first time. Here comes the European champion in front of our home crowds. Can she come back now to the front of the race? It’s getting a lot of attention here. Bukovska She’s nearly there now. She’s jumping across this gap. Is she able now to get with the world champion bronze medalist in the 2025 mountain bike world championships as well? She’s almost there now. She’s going to make the junction. 15 years of age. That’s our chasing duo. Going to be two riders at the front. The world champion is refusing to relent. We’re on the penultimate lap. Here comes the European champion. Still flying her way through the turns. Medalist in the junior world championship mountain bike. Silver medalist in the junior world championship cross cyclross in Levan last year European champion. And now she has made the junction. She’s pretty much there now. This is an impressive performance by Habbora Bakovska. And now she’s gonna challenge the world champion and go straight past. She keeps momentum going. Now there’s a chance of a home winner. This is an impressive performance by the Czech rider. Some good results so far. Really is making the world champion hurt. She won in middle Kirka in that European championship race. Also this season she’s had some warm-up races in Czecha. She won in Jin. She won in Hinskow in the HSF System Cup races. There’s our third place rider on the track. Georgia Pelosi our third place rider is looking superb now coming up towards the end of this third lap of racing she’s given the world champion something to think about here the way that she has ridden across it looked like Lisa Raval was in control but in reality she was hanging on and now the European champion is pushing pushing even harder. The local crowd sense a famous moment. Can the world champion hang on to this rider who is so motivated by being in front of her home crowd? The end of the penultimate lap. It’s the world champion against the European champion for this first round of this Junior World Cup cyclross. Barbara Buovska is going to have set a very fast lap time. And they look around and they check. One lap to go in the leader from France in a beautiful battle with Barbara. One lap of racing to go. Another 9005 by Lee Revol, but Vovska rode an 857 lap that time. The fastest lap of the race, 22.09 km an hour. is our fourth and fifth place rider. But they’re not out for the medals yet. It’s going to be things that happen. 28 seconds down. Bianke and Roach. Two check riders and groa went through and now it’s all about this final lap of racing. How is this going to unfold? So Pikovska is the fastest rider on the track. There’s no doubt about that. She’s 8 seconds quicker than Lee Raval on any lap. 5 seconds faster than Ped’s previously fastest lap. And now the European champion forces again. She knows this course. She knows Tabo. She knows the weather conditions, how cold it can be. Gets herself ready for this run up. The world champion goes to the left hand side. Sheila still looks comfortable. She doesn’t look like she’s under massive pressure. Every now and then the power of this check gear rider. She just has this ability to accelerate hard out of these turns when she gets back on the bike. Was the fastest woman of the race. The fastest lap is the lap number three. Fastest lap so far. 857. What is Kovska going to do now out of that corner and another acceleration to hurt the legs of the world champion. Third place. Pelad Zorti. Looks like she’s comfortable. to Bianke and Zoe Roach are about 20 odd seconds behind, so she can’t slow down too much. The European champion is starting to make the world champion hurt a lot here. And here’s the acceleration as Barbara Buukovska starts to go clear. What a race this rider has had. Third place last year in the World Cup. Police Revol was second in the World Cup, put the world title, but now the Czecha crowd have got behind this young rider and they’re urging it on now to put the world champion to the sword. The world champion. You can see the legs are a little bit heavy up those steps. Pikovska was much more urgent in her style. Now Pelotti is looking for second place. Those legs are hurting up there that time. The gap is growing. It’s 5 seconds now between these two riders. Oh, it’s good to see this checker rider really forcing the pace. Now, we’ve had great checker riders in the past. We think of Katarina Nash in particular. Look at the way that Bovska is riding and the men’s. Now, this tab crowd sense that they’ve got a chance of a victory in this junior women’s race. Just got to keep ahead, not take a risk in one of the corners where it’s too slidy. It’s been a problematic corner, but she makes good and easy work of that one. Checks where the world champion is through the pits now. Forces the pace a little bit more. The gap is still five. The world champion is refusing to relent. Trying to find a little bit of pace. Marovska over the hurdles now. Oh, and almost comes to a standstill. Almost slow motion over there. And now the world champion is coming back. She’s got to accelerate hard. had a little issue through those boards in third place. Italy again having a good race. the European champion through that turn now. Not too far to the finish line. She’s got what 2 and 12 minutes, 3 minutes of racing to go. Lisa Revolt still working hard. She’s still got the carrot chase. There’s the visible gap from our aerial shot. in the lead is still doing is riding for her life right now. She’s right on the limit. If you’ve just joined us now and you’re finding Cyper Cross on Sunday morning, well, this rider rode her way back to the world champion who was leading by about 10 seconds. Vikovska just rode steadily back and eventually made the junction and now she goes clear through that turn. a European champion. It looks to me like she might have cracked the world champion now. A very impressive performance by another fast acceleration through that turn. Every single move she makes finds herself with a little bit more speed. The world champion is faltering now. Second place for the French rider. Last year she won two rounds of the World Cup lease revol. She won rounds four and five. Dukovska won one round. Round number six last year was won by Rafael Karia from Canada. Canadian top of the leaderboard at the end of the six rounds of racing. Not long now for this check rider. She’s about what less than a minute now from the finish line. You hear the crowd in the background. And the lead is she makes her way to the final twists and turns. Safely through there as well. Spins her way through that section and gets herself ready for the victory. Turns around and checks where Lisa Ravol is. She’s just got to make her way through the final corner safely. Don’t make a mistake on this slightly icy section. And it’s going to be a famous home victory for the Czech rider. Look at the smile. She rode her way back to the world champion. And she’s going to take the first World Cup victory of the season. It’s a home win for Barbara Lukovska. The Czech rider European champion wins. The world champion Lee Ravol in second place. Second place goes to a 9minut final lap. She kept the momentum. She has the fastest lap of the race in 857.7. It’s a podium for Italy. Georgei is in third place. A fantastic performance by the European champion. So measured in her approach today. Going to be fourth place for the Italian. Lisa Bianke Lucy Grova. And it’s Ava Dro and Zoe Roach is in seventh place. comes crosses the line. World champion makes her way to get changed after a hard race. Big sprint there for the places. Long Bear was across the line in ninth and a sprint between what? Lai Pichon, Peggy Knox, Shauba. 10th place for Pichon of France. Celebration of Barbara Buovska, the winner of the junior women race. We are right now witnessing the finishing of another riders and let us invite you to the official ceremony. In a few moments, we’re going to start the official prize. That was a hard race out there, wasn’t it? 104 only. treated to fantastic performance by the European champion. All the best riders in the junior men and junior women categories. Still riders coming in first talking as well. He’s in Jakob Peters and the rider who got through the corner first at the start, Ada Watson of the USA. 24th place for her today. 3 minutes down. Well, I hope you’re enjoying today’s racing. I’m at McCrossen. Don’t forget to follow at UCI cycling. More sprints. Ha Yoskava. First rider I’ve seen in shorts today. Well, this rider really did manage to ride a fantastic last couple of laps. There a little moment here where she just faltered a little bit. She looked like the legs were heavy and the world champion might have sensed a chance to come back, but at the finish there was no chance. Barbara Buovska wins the World Cup. It’s nice to win a World Cup. It’s very special to win in front of a home crowd. Let’s take a look at the results of the Junior’s World Cyclacross World Cup for women. Barbara Bukovska wins for Czecha 36 minutes and 29 seconds. It was the world champion Lee Rvol in second. Georgia Pelad Zoti in third place for Italy. Here’s the makeup of the top 10 riders. If you had a rider you’re supporting, here’s the rest of the results. Everybody just getting uh recovered. Some riders warming up out on the course. We’re going to bring you the men’s under 23 race soon. Here’s the highlights of the women’s junior race. 45 riders on the start line and a very fast start. The first rider through the initial turn was the American rider Adah Watson with a very good start. Wasn’t long though until the world champion Lee Rvol was the dominant force at the front. The world champion looked like she had this race in the bag. She had such a big lead. But in the end, the European champion Barbara Povska had other ideas. She takes a home win here in Czecha. A great tussle between Lee Raval and Barbara Bikovska.
