The pictures from the All Ireland Underage Championships in Mondello Park, Co. Kildare. Organised by Muiris O’Ceallaigh – Waterford Cycling Club
The Youth Championships in Mondello Park were a massive success thanks the tremendous work put in by the organiser Muiris O’Ceallaigh of the Waterford Cycling Club.
The event was held on the last Sunday in August every year and for young cyclists it was the perfect end to the summer holidays before they returned to school.
Many people from that era will have fond memories of that event.
Sadly, Muiris passed away in 2020, he will be remembered for his contributions to the underage championships – May he Rest in Peace.
* I posted these even though some are of poor quality, as there is little coverage of cycling from those years
