North Macedonians are genetically closer to every ethnic group in the Balkans, then to Greek Macedonians. I.e. the Macedonians from North Macedonia are far closer to Romanians than they are to Greek Macedonians. Which in itself is rather remarkable and noteworthy.

Weird thing, I've even seen some Macedonians claim that they understand Serbian better than Bulgarian, that Bulgarian sounds archaic to them.
Its not only the exposure, serbo-croatian comes alot easier to us than bulgarian. The alphabet is also more similar to Serbian than Bulgarian. Also Bulgarian sounds like when a Macedonian Gipsy tries to speak Macedonian.
Another thing is that alot of the Macedonian population has relatives in Serbia and we consider them alot closer to us than any other nation.

When you claim there are no ancient macedonians in N Macedonia you need to answer what the hell happened to ancient macedonians??? They were not ethnically cleansed. and not evaporated from the earth. They lost their language and culture to other people that got to dominate the region. But those genes they remained and mixed with the new comers. So yes, in N Macedonia the ancient Macedonian genes are still present. Yes culturally the "Macedonians of former Yugoslavia" are not ancient Macedonians but ethnically they are. While yes, culturally, language and folklore is Bulgarian-no dispute about that.

Излегува дека може!? Тоа е наредбата бр. 341 од 16 мај 1945 година на Окружниот просветен оддел на Министерството за народна просвета на Југословенска Македонија. Со оваа наредба се дава насока за веднаш да се спроведе одлуката на Раководството на Народната влада на Федералната Република Македонија за создавање на македонскиот јазик и македонската азбука. Според член 1 од оваа одлука, македонската азбука треба да се состои од 31 буква, кои се графички прикажани. Новиот јазик е регулиран, вклучително и со писмените знаци за неговиот изговор, и тоа за секоја поединечно воведена буква. „Вистинското просветување на нашиот народ е невозможно, додека историјата останува во мракот на заборавот“ – вели големиот бугарски научник проф. Марин Дринов.
Во оваа јубилејна година, кога одбележуваме 200 години од раѓањето на таткото на бугарското националноослободително движење, научникот, мислителот и борецот за слобода, братство и еднаквост – Г. С. Раковски, нека уште еднаш им ги напомниме на нашите самозаборавиле се сонародници од Македонија, а најмногу на претставниците на денешната власт во Република Северна Македонија, неговите заветни зборови:
