[Music] [Music] each summer the city of SIU is transformed from the former capital of culture to the capital of off-road racing with the Red Bull romaniacs hard uro rally the location in the Carpathian Mountains is complete with challenging hill climbs and rugged terrain this race has something for everyone it’s a landscape that looks purposefully made for the ultimate hardcore Enduro event in [Music] mind enter Martin fander the games master for this five day event a former world and European snowboarding Champion Martin organized the event after years of exploring the Carpathian Mountains on his dirt bike ah the first edition kicked off in 2004 and uh it was difficult to organize it we had uh resolved quite some troubles nobody was believing the Austrian guy who comes to Romania and want to do something very special that nobody has seen before finally it happened out so some of the the top stars were here some of the expert amateur Riders were here and every one went home after the first race and said this is just great what we can do here and uh the wipes were so positive that the next year we have been growing by 50% so until crisis of 2008 we have been growing every year by 50% we have just great writing of all kinds of uh of levels and this is what we can find here in this country and uh this is what people as I can see also like the same the way that I like it and the same way that my direct my direct director and all the other guys that helped me putting up the race like this is Enduro this is what we think is Enduro and I guess there’s many other people that confirm that the way that we see endur uh is also the way that they see endur the event has evolved over the years starting with only 28 competitors back in [Music] 2004 the prologue has also changed from the beginning going from an urban obst iCal course to a more formal approach I wanted to give the best rers a chance to show what they are capable to do and I wanted to give the not so good Riders a chance to sniff a bit of this this adventure this uh this uh great Country Landscape riding trails and being together with the top star with the pros today over 300 competitors come from 41 different nations to race here and the course is attracting worldclass Riders yeah I just love coming to romia it’s just a beautiful place and the first year was in 2008 managed to win it first time out and then had a couple of years with a few problems with the bike and injuries and but it’s that type of event anything can happen so you just have to try and be consistent over the 4 days and hope you somewhere near at the end yeah 2009 uh was first time in here at the Red Bull romaniacs and yeah it was my first International uh Victory um was my first time with with navigation and everything was new so but yeah I did it it’s kind of hard to describe the feeling it was just just absolutely unbelievable just to be able to say that I finished the toughest race in the world which satisfies me the most is that we we have uh competitors from all over the world from over 35 Nations and uh this is quite interesting how many people we get to this quite unknown country Romania to ride Ino and everybody comes back with his SM says wow this has been the best ride in my life this is so wonderful here I have a bit the feeling that we are there why I’ve always wished to be being able to organize a perfect motorbike competition organizing the best race in the world an enjoyable race a very tough race and so far everything is working out the 10th edition is here and Martin already has a few surprises up his sleeve of course we want to do something special Andy is already talking now about his ideas for the prologue and uh we want to go back on some of the of the old beautiful trails that we have used but uh check it out and wait then it’s getting closer to it and we come up with all the details and the ideas [Music] [Music]

  1. Ahahahah… yea sure… "quite easy". If i haven't done 10 years of enduro maybe i would believe you… i'd love to go on a ride with you & see how it is easy =D

  2. If its so easy I'd be a professional racer. You sir are just ignorant.
I respect all professional athletes because it takes serious dedication and hard work to master their skillsets.

  3. The redbull helmets are made mainly by troy lee designs but some riders have fox and other brands custom made depends on the rider and they are like 400 dollars on ebay for race and freestyle helmets

  4. Both honestly. I've ridden street with track time, and also do enduro/harescramblese. They are two different skill sets. Trying to compare two extremes of the spectrum is just silly. Granted TT takes massive balls, and if you screw up at 180mph your likely dead. You also have to consider these boys are going 40-60mph off road in areas that a single mistake could just as easily lead to massive injury/death. Less likely, but both sports take skill. Respect them for what they are.

  5. Both races face the same amount of challenges.
Obviously, the ones that come with any race, and the ones that come with any bikes.
Then everything about the course and the rider.
If I take what you mean by ''challenges'' correctly, the TT does.
In this race, you won't die 9 times out of 10. The TT, if you crash, you better be bestfriends with God oor you're out.

  6. it's not SIBU god dammit, there is an second "i" in there for a reason, this isn't english where you have extra (silent) letters for no reason

  7. It's all about how you view the races man, i really don't think we are on the same page here 🙂
You see, in the TT race, it is the same environment overall the course, that is what i ment by "challenges", how different the course it, forexaple at this race you face so so many more objects and stuff in the road, in TT you only face the turns, speed and how big of a chance you take. But TT is absolutely the most extreme and dangerous race you can race, as far as i know. understand me now :)?

  8. I dont think you understand the TT enough, its a road race meaning its not a prepped race track meaning theres bumbs, jumps, walls, and just nasty things in general to hit with a motorcycle going 200mph. just learning the 32 mile course is a challenge that most riders take 3 years to do.

  9. Why would i bother wasting time discussion something i didn't know? in other words, i know fully out what kind of race TT is, i just think you all missunderstand what i'm trying to say.

  10. , you keep saying we are missunderstanding but we arent, your saying that running the TT course would be easy because you dont have to go full pace over it if you dont want but if you do romaniacs you have to go over the same obstacles no matter what yes I understand but we are talking about a competive pace not a fun relaxing ride, witch is why the TT is one of the hardest RACES. both courses are challenging when you run them correctly
