One cadet’s hopes for Kosovo’s future – 12 Feb 08

Russia has warned that if Kosovo declares independence it will damage security across Europe. The province is expected to announce its decision to break away from Serbia in the coming days, despite fierce opposition from Belgrade and Moscow. To help maintain stability during the transition, a security force has been established under the auspices of the United Nations. The first female cadet at Pristina’s military academy tells Al Jazeera about her hopes for Kosovo’s future.
