Yay, creak troubleshooting!!
My mountain bike was getting pretty creaky and then I gave it a good clean and a fresh wax on the chain and it was quiet, for one ride. Halfway into the second ride the other day it starts doing this sound you can hear in the video (It’s quite loud without the wind noise in the background).
Riding down the block while I filmed this I noticed the sound seems to be worst in the lowest few cogs, and as you can hear in the video it actually almost seems like it only happens on the lowest few cogs. At first I thought it was something to do with more torque being put on things in those gears but I really seems like you go from gear 8 to 9 or whichever it is and the sound just starts right there.
Any clever ideas of where I should start troubleshooting?
Additional possibly helpful things, can’t seem to recreate it in the stand (it’s FS so maybe sag is having an affect, or again just the torque applied when actually pedaling). Happens sitting or standing so I really feel like it’s something in the drivetrain.
- GX AXS derailluer, XO1 Cranks, DUB BSA BB, ZTTO 11-50 HG cassette. (Hesitate to mention that last one in case it’s a red herring and everyone just points at the budget cassette but could certainly be the issue I suppose?)
