Hello fans. It’s Rob Dy here for Pirates TV. We’re at Wimbornne Road Stadium in Paul this evening for the Harbor Masters individual event. Uh featuring riders from the National Development League, the National Development Trophy, and some from the Championship as well. The lineup has changed a little bit since the original issue was made. Unfortunately, Will Kes, who many people were looking forward to seeing racing here at Paul tonight, he’s injured at the moment. He has a hand injury and uh it could be that he is missing for a week or two but we still have riders here who are going to attract a lot of interest. Taking the place of Will Kes is Paul Stark but uh the youngsters are going to be battling hard to knock Paul from his uh senior citizen spot in the lineup. particularly young Cooper Russian who has been uh outstanding this season so far having finished fifth in the SGP3 competition in Prague at the weekend. Uh an excellent achievement for the young man. We also have uh other National League and National Development riders here who are up to the shop window as it were. They want to put themselves out in the spotlight to see if a championship side can maybe swoop in towards the end of the season and pick up a bargain as they look to the future. Here in Paul, it’s been a bright day, a little bit overcast sometimes, quite windy, so the track team have had their work cut out to pre prepare a good racing surface, but that they have done and so we’re looking forward to seeing some great action here on the south coast this evening. Okay, the Pirates faithfuls are coming out in force tonight out on the grand stand to watch this man ride tonight. Daryl Richens, you’re doing really well for the Pirates so far, so you want to continue that tonight in tonight’s meeting. Yeah, definitely. Like, um I said in my previous uh interview after the last meeting, um we’ve kind of invested quite heavily over the last couple weeks with uh engines and clutches just to kind of try and try and be amongst it in in the championship. So, um, yeah, again, tonight I I want to put on a a good performance and, yeah, we’ll see what happens at the end of the night. I mean, to come into this meeting off the back of that last one’s got to fill you with a lot of confidence. It has 100%. And, uh, I think I dropped a point at Bow View as well on Sunday. So, I at the minute I feel pretty good on the bike and uh, yeah, we just um, keep keep taking each meeting as it comes and and and build on that. And how great was it the support that you’re getting from the Pirates fans out on the terraces on social media and so on? They’re uh they’re right behind you, aren’t they? Do you know what? It’s uh it’s probably one of the the best clubs I’ve rode for, even if it’s just a brief spell. Um the support has been it’s been unreal. And I do I do see it or my wife will make sure I see it. So, uh yeah, that that and uh that builds me with a lot of confidence. Great. So hopefully we’ll have plenty of uh Pirates fans out there watching you tonight, watching you go around and uh like you say coming in great form, bikes are good, you’re feeling fit, and uh what about the the lineup of tonight’s meeting? There’s a lot of good riders here. There’s youth, there’s experience, but uh it’s not going to be straightforward, is it? Definitely not. And uh every every single rider, they’re all they’re all good. They’re all here for a reason. Um, but to be honest, I try not to uh look too much into that and just kind of take each race as it comes. And like like any speedo, I try try to win every race. So, uh, yeah, I don’t I don’t look too much into it, but um, there is some there is some talent on the show tonight. Well, Pirates TV are right behind you along with the Pirates fans. Have a good one. Stay safe. Ride fast. And, uh, yeah, good luck. Cheers, mate. Thank you. Okay, Cooper Russian then in the pits nice and early tonight. The sun’s shining. You got to be looking forward to tonight’s meeting. Yeah, definitely. You know, it’s it’s another meeting on the board, you know, another track to ride and I just want to be riding my bike. So, that’s what we love. Uh I love the track down here. So, you know, we hope for a good safe day at the office and yeah, like I said, back to riding a bike, so I can’t complain. Now, looking down at the lineup of riders tonight, um there’s some favorites for the meeting. You’re one of them, I will tell you. Um and also some youth in there that are really keen to get in amongst it tonight. So, um what about yourself looking down at the lineup? who uh who are you looking at to be like you said I think it’s such a solid lineup that I think anyone can take it definitely especially cuz it’s on the day you know you got some more experienced guys like Starky in here and you know we’ve got people Charlie Southwick and me who we’ll give it our best shot and you know it’s our first time doing this so there’s no pressure we’re just going to relax into the meeting and hopefully get off to a good start and see how it progresses. Well, you say there’s no pressure there but you’re coming up against all the other youth riders as well. I know from uh experience of filming these meetings that the youth riders don’t like to lose to each other at all. So, so whilst it’s a different type of meeting, you guys are really going to be going for this tonight. It’s going to be tight. Definitely. You know, I hopefully it’s going to be a great meeting of racing. You know, I love all the overtaking and getting elbows out. That That’s what it’s all about. And it’s good for the fans, too. So, hopefully we can put a show on for them. And, you know, it’s just like I said, see how the meeting progresses. But yeah, us youngsters and the more experienced ones, we’ll be we’ll be going at each other for four laps and you know, may the best man win. So, you’re looking forward to it? 100%. I can’t wait for it. You know, Speedway is my life and it’s not just another meeting. So, just like I said, relax into the meeting and keep it pinned. Have a great night. Stay safe. Ride fast. Thank you. We’ll do. So, here we go with the rider lineup for the Harbor Masters Invitational meeting this evening. Riding at number one is Max James. He’s 17 years old and an unattached rider at this stage. At number two is Paul Stark, current reserve for the Pirates, stepping in to replace the injured Will Kes. At number three, Paul Debutton Ashton Vale. And at number four, a rider who impressed in the equivalent meeting last year is Sunny Springer. Running at number five, Jacob Clouting and comes from Ipsswitch and of course is the son of former pirate Clouting. At number six, the rider a lot of people have come to see this evening, Cooper Russian, who finished fifth place in the SGP3 meeting in Prague at the weekend. At number seven, another Paul Deputant is Jamie Erington, who comes from Kent. And at number eight, former pirate of course and fan favorite is Vinnie Ford. Paul’s supporters rider of the year last time around. and number nine, the experienced Ben Moley, and he’ll be uh coming out alongside number 10 rider Ben Trigger, who was so impressive last week against Plymouth here at the stadium, almost turning the tide in the Gladiator’s favor. Number 11, the multi-talented and uh multi- disciplined rider Aaron Butcher. Sand track, ice racing, grass track, all sorts for Aaron. And number 12, Mickey Simpson from Boston. Uh he’s uh 21 years old and uh making his uh I think his second appearance here at pool. At number 13, current pool reserve of course is Daryl Richings. Did so well last week in the knockout cup meeting here. He must be in line for a trophy this evening. At number 14, up and cominging young man, Eli Meadows, 21 years old. And number 15, a lot of interest in this young fellow, Charlie Southwick from K Castle, the local rider making his debut in National League this year. It’ be interesting to see how he goes today. And last, but by no means least, the experienced Nathan Hargrave racing for Kent in the National Development Trophy. That’s your lineup for tonight’s meeting. Thanks, Rob. We’re here in the pits. Everyone is getting themselves ready. There’s a lot of excitement brewing around the pits today. We’ve got such a mix of riders here. We’ve got old pirates, new pirates, and potentially some future pirates to be keeping our eyes on as well. We’re over here in what typically would be the away side of the pits, but today, of course, it is individual. So, we’ve got eight riders lining up here. They’re just getting ready to take a photo behind me as well. So, they’ve been working on their bikes all afternoon. They’ve all done a track walk. Everyone’s wanting to be the best they can be because everyone wants to walk away with the trophy tonight. Now, if we take you over onto what we’d normally know as the pool side, we can see we’ve got a lot of the riders gathering behind me. They’re about to get ready. We’re calling the riders. So, everyone is getting ready to go out on track for the first time. But there is a lot of excitement brewing here. Everyone’s been working on their bikes. They want to make sure that everything is perfect down to the very last detail. There is no room for error in a championship like this. So, everyone is wanting to make sure that they are winning every single heat. Now, that’s not going to be easy, especially when you’ve got people like, if you can see this man just coming behind me, Vinnie Ford, walking as well with Will Kent, who is going to be a future pirate in the next few weeks. Everyone is looking to get that win and they’re making their way out right now. Such an interesting site to see to see so many different riders. You’ve got a mix here. You’ve got 14y olds all the way up to riders such as Paul Stark, who of course we know very well around here at pool. getting themselves ready here. They’re going to have a nice picture. We’ve got a couple of pirates down at the front. You can see Daryl Richings here at number 13 right next to Paul Stark who has come in of course for Wilcarns who unfortunately is suffering from a bit of an injury. Hopefully we’ll hear from him a little bit later. And then going all the way to up in the middle at the back, Cooper Russian at number six, fifth in the SGP3 at the weekend. and he’ll be hoping to carry on some good luck there. And then of course standing up number eight Vinnie Ford who of course lifted not one, not two, but three trophies at the end of last year with the Pirates. He’ll be hoping to get a fourth trophy lifted tonight, but of course this time on his own. All right, I’m going to start throwing you back to Rob to take you through the first few heats. Thanks Beth. Lovely to have you on board with the Pirates TV and we look forward to uh seeing a little bit more of Beth a little bit later on in the evening as we get to our grading bridge. So, we look to have all the bikes out on the center green ready for the parade. The riders are lining themselves up there in the pit lane. And uh isn’t it great to see the youngsters smiling faces? I bet there’s a little bit of nervous anticipation in amongst them as well. They won’t all have ridden on championship tracks before, but uh what a great opportunity for them to get to to know what life’s like here at Paul Stadium. Cooper Russian there giving a a signal. I’m sure it’s a polite one. I’m not up with all the vogue for the youngsters, but uh I’m sure that was a good one. And there number 15, a rider that is really going to entice the home clans is Charlie Southwick, 15 years old, comes from Corf Castle. uh local lad, so he’s bound to be taking a lot of the cheers from the local people here tonight. And uh as well as uh Charlie there, of course, we’ve got another 15ear in the 15year-old in the field in the shape of Cooper Russian and also youngsters at 16, 17, and 18. So, uh, certainly a young field and, uh, who knows, it might be one of the youngsters who unseat one of the more seasoned professionals in the shape of maybe, uh, Paul Stark or Ben Moley. Let’s see what happens as the meeting unfolds. But, it’s been a great day here on the South Coast. Uh, the wind’s got up. It’s produced, uh, a little bit of a drying area, and the track staff have been out putting plenty of water down. And as you can see, they’ve uh also ripped the starting gate up there quite significantly. Let’s hope that the youngsters are able to cope with those um rather deep conditions that uh we can see at the moment. The meeting tonight runs over a a straight 20 heats. So there’ll be no semifinals or anything like that. It’s just going to be five rides and a top point scorer on the night takes the trophy and of course a runoff if necessary uh for the one two three positions if that’s required once the scores are all in after those 20 heats and I think we’re well ahead of time tonight which is a little bit unusual But uh very welcome indeed and I’m sure that the riders will want to be out on track as soon as they can to uh get the introductions over and jump on the bikes and get a feel of the circuit. Referee tonight is Chris Do down from the Midlands. busy man Chris of course who’s taken a lot of meetings so far this season and second time here at Paul I think this year one of the more experienced referees on the circuit these days and of course also uh on the FIM panel as well for various uh international matters. So uh the meeting’s in very capable and experienced hands this evening. And there we uh just having another look around uh the pits area and uh we’ll be having those boys out on parade very shortly [Music] during the course of the evening. uh as it’s solo commentary from me this evening. We do hope to uh have one or two other people come along and join us and give their interpretation of the racing. We won’t say who we’ve got lined up. We’ll keep it a bit of a surprise for you. But uh yeah, we do hope to have uh a couple of uh Speedway people come and join me and let them uh share their expertise on what they’re watching out on the track with those younger guys doing their thing. And having said that, I think we can see on camera that we’re ready to bring the boys onto circuit. side championship for part of the stadium closed this evening. The back straight there is uh out of bounds this evening. So the majority of the support is uh in the main grand stand and around the bends. [Music] the equivalent meeting last year was uh an exciting affair and uh we saw plenty of racing out of the top draw as the saying goes and I’m sure that with the field that promoter Dan Ford has lined up this evening then we can expect an equally exciting [Applause] time. And once the riders have moved into their positions behind their respective machines, I’ll uh be quiet for a few minutes and pass introductions over to stadium announcer Nigel Lee, who will do the honors. Ladies and gentlemen, the riders for tonight’s Harour Masters Championship. As always, riders want to have a look at the starting grid there. Quick close look before we get to our [Music] introductions. Paul Stark here. He knows all about that start line. He doesn’t need to go and have another look. He’s he’s quite happy if he’ll let him have a a kick around. We’ve got a first class field of uh young men in the shop window tonight and I know that promotions uh not just here at pool but elsewhere we’ll be looking in and seeing the results. This of course is part of the national development league championship and national development league individual series. So tonight’s farmer masters championship is a one off. All right let’s meet them one by one. Ladies and gentlemen, first of all, for number one in the field from the Leicester Lion Clubs, it is Max [Applause] James from the pool pirates. A big welcome for Paul Star. Just down the road from the Oxford Chargers, Ashton Bale. Also from Leicester London Cub, Sunny Springer. Oxford Chargers, Jacob Clancy. Number six, 2024 British Youth Champion, Koopa Russia. Number seven, runner up in Sunday’s British Youth Championship opening round from Stunport Sheffield, Jamie Edington. And number eight, he was a popular man here last year. I know you got a big welcome for Vinnie for Number nine, again Eagles, Ben [Music] Molly. Number 10, Ben Trigger from the National Guard. Number 11 from the Oxford Chargers, Aaron Butcher. Number 12 from Stunport Sheffield, Mickey Simpson. And number 13, part of our 2025 Pirates had a big score on Wednesday, didn’t they? Daryl Richie, Daryl Rise for the Oxford Chargers in the National Development League. At number 14, Eli Meadows from the West. At number 15, currently fourth in the British Youth Standings, he’s a local boy. Give him a local welcome, Charlie Sandwich. And the number 16 from the Kent Eagles, Nathan [Music] [Applause] Har. So there we go. The rider introductions duly completed and uh we’ll just leave you to see the boys push off and do a little bit on their practice laps before they head back to pits and we get ready to go with heat number one. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] So riders heading back there to pit lane. Everybody having had a lap or two of the track. We’re on to a straight 20 heat fixture this evening and already the uh riders are getting themselves together. 20 heats. There’s no uh provision for semifinals or last chance saloons or anything like that this evening. It’s going to be the rider who amasses the most points from fair five rides who will take the title. uh runoffs required of course if necessary. Just perhaps to mention to you as the rider introductions were taking place there that uh most of the riders here come from the national league level of the sport. The uh national league divided into a league side and a trophy side and it gives the opportunity for riders to ride for more than one team and in different competitions. So extra track time is the idea and that’s uh going to be the case right the way through this season. Can tell you that the two-minute time allowance has been activated for heat number one as we look down pit lane. The riders and the mechanics just getting their gear together ready to go in the first race of the night. And there’s Paul Stark. familiar face to anybody who follows the Pirates and Pirates TV. He’s uh dawning the blue helmet color. That’s going to indicate he’ll come from gate number two. Starting positions are uh indicated by the helmet colors. Red’s from gate number one, blue gate number two, white from gate number three, yellow from gate number four. And the usual scoring format, of course, three for a win, two for second, one for third, and no points for finishing in last place. or if you fail to finish a race. And we can hear some uh engine noise. And first out on track is Paul Stark on his way to tapes and he makes his way along the back straight. I think most people will um consider Paul to be a potential winner today because of the experience that he has. Paul of course stepping into the meeting at short notice because of the hand injury to Will KS. So there’s Paul. He’s just finding the sweet spot as they say in uh the gates ready to go [Music] racing. Coming out through the gate, the rider in red there is going to be Max James and he’s followed up by the other guys. Ashton Veil in white, Sunny Spring are in yellow. And they’ll be making their way round to the gate. And they will do their traditional piece of gardening as well before we get under action with heat number [Music] one. So here we go. That’s your lineup for race number one. Max James is in gate number one. Paul Stark gate number two. Ashton Vale gate number three and Sunny Springer gate number four. Red, blue, white and yellow across the gate as they come into line for heat number one. And a number of interested spectators up on the gantry there. The other riders no doubt wanting to see how things go in this first race. Aaron Butcher there looking through the uh through the chicken wire fence. So here we go. Starting Marshall’s happy. He moves away. Fates released and off they go to the first corner and Thor Stark makes his way to the front of the field perhaps as expected. And he now leads out from Max James in red who’s in second place. Sunonny Springer in yellow runs third. Ashton Bale in white. He’s in fourth place. So there’s Paul Stark. He’s going well. He’s got probably eight bike lengths over the rider in second place. That’s Max James. Tony Springer is in third and Ashton Bale out the back at the moment. Clark over the line there and he’s building a lead that’s now probably 10 lengths in if in fact more than that. The action probably in second place with Max James in red, Sunny Springer in yellow. Start comes over the line. into the uh minor positions that are going to attract the interest and it looks like Sunny Springer has uh slowed up. Perhaps he misread the flags. It’s allowed Ashton Vale through into third place. So we’ll call them home. Blue, red, white, and it will be yellow. Sunny Springer just taking the slide off on bend number four right at the end of the race. He’s up and okay and back over the line. And there on screen is your race winner, Paul Stark. One belongs to Paul Stark. So your official result is going to run like this with Paul Stark your race winner in the blue helmet color. Three points for him. Second place in red was Max James. Two points for Max Wonder and Vale in white and third place for Ashton Bale. Fourth finisher Sunny Springer. No score that time. Look at the game from the start. Not a bad start from Max James, but uh Paul Stark just drove that a little bit harder into the first corner, got over Max James, and that’s all she wrote. Stark was away and recording her first race win of the night. The battles then developed for uh second and third place. Sunny Springer closing in on Max James, but uh not quite sure what happened on the last lap there. I think uh Sunny Springer may have misread the flags, but Ashton Vale came through and uh it was the one point for the Oxford Chargers man in the white helmet. On we go. The second race, the two-minute time allowance is counting down and the uh lineup will see Cooper Russian coming to the tapes for the first time this evening. Cooper who’s ridden here um in the pool practice day at the start of the season and also last year in the Richard Lawson testimonial meeting. He was on a 250 that night and of course his SGP3 performances were on a 250 but tonight he’s back on the 500 with all the other riders. Here’s your lineup across the gate. In red, Jacob Clouting in blue Jamie Eington. In white, Cooper Russian and in yellow, Vinnie Ford. The battle looks to be on the outside starting positions between Russian and Ford. Early days yet, we’ll have to see how things pan out, but two young riders with bags and bags of potential and they could produce a very interesting race for us here in heat number two. So, we just wait for the boys to settle down there. Now, over in the pits area there, Danny Ford, the uh co-promoter, talking to Sam Hagen, I think that was so riders are now at the starting gate and ready. Starting Marshall moves away. They’re off to the first bend and it’s a good start from Vinnie Ford off the outside starting position and he puts his nose right across the front of Cooper Russian and uh that takes Cooper’s speed away from him. So Vinnie Ford showing he still knows the fastest way around this track. He leads Cooper Russian. Jacob Clouting is the rider in third place and in the blue helmet at the back Jamie Etherington. So Vinnie Ford there taking a wider line out of the turns and he’s pretty comfortable out front at the moment. Peter Russian in the second place. Jacob Clouting in third and Jamie Etrington is the fourth rider. Minning Ford there in shot heading home. Cooper Russian and Jamie Clouting with a lap to go. Bit of a Russian in shot there, but he’s got the man in front of him, the rider in yellow, Vinnie Ford, to deal with. And this time he isn’t going to do it because we can call them home. Yellow, white, red, and blue. Yellow, white, red, and blue. Heat number two goes the way of Vinnie Ford. Fast start from the outside starting position and three points to start his evening off in fine style. We’ll see a rerun of the heat in just a moment for you. And here we go. And uh let’s watch the riders on white and yellow gates. That’s where the action was first of all. And as you can see there, Vinnie Ford coming across. And uh it just put Cooper off of his stride for a second. He uh managed to keep control but it put him in a difficult position and uh Vinnie Ford went away to win the heat with comparative ease. Jacob Clouting trying to put some pressure on Cooper but it wasn’t to be. So Vinnie Ford three points there. Cooper rushing two. Jacob Clouting one and Jamie Eington no score. On we go then. It’s heat number three. Next on the program that’s Aaron Butcher in blue. You can see on screen just coming out of the pits and Ben Moley in white there making his way round to the starting gate. Morley of course an experienced rider at National League Rattle and never really had a full chance in championship and I’m sure he’s in the shop window tonight and will be looking to try and attract the attention of a championship promoter. Here’s your lineup across the gate. Riding in red gate number one is Ben Trigger. Riding in blue gate number two, Aaron Butcher. Riding in white, gate number three, Ben Moley. And riding in four off of uh riding in yellow off of gate number four in Mickey Simpson. There we are. That’s your lineup, full lineup for heat number three of our Harbor Masters meeting tonight. Trigger who was in good form last week for Plymouth here. And uh it might be a dark horse to uh get in the championship stakes this time round. got another contender maybe in the shape of Ben Moy in this race with him. But don’t let’s write the others off. We’ll see what happens as they go racing in heat number three. We’re just waiting for them to come to tapes. And it looks like they’re more or less there. So, the engine noise starts to rise. Starting Marshall looks happy. Let’s see what happens when we go to heat number three. Good start there from Moley, but he’s got Ben Trigger tucked in beside him and Trigger tries to go down low and shoots him away to the outside of the track with Ben Moley in front on a better line. So Moley leads Trigger. Mickey Simpson in yellow runs in third. Naram Butcher is being cast a drift I’m afraid at the back at the moment. Ben Moley, he’s going good at the moment ahead of Ben Trigger as Mickey Simpson was getting all out of shape in that particular heat. But as you can see, Moley is steady away at the front of the pack. He’s leading out Ben Trigger with a lap to go. Nikki Simpson plugging away and Aaron Butcher again still finding it difficult from that fourth position. So they come down the back straight for the last time in heat number three. Ben Trigger trying a big blast but it isn’t going to do him any good because we can call them home. White, red, yellow, blue. Moy, Trigger, Simpson and Butcher in that order. number three. So the experience of Ben Moley there getting himself out of the gate in front of Ben Trigger and that’s the way it stayed despite the best efforts of Ben Trigger to re things in. Yeah, he’s a sharp starter Ben Moley and uh when he gets his nose in front, he’s not an easy man to move around. So congratulations to Ben on his opening race win there. We’ll bring up the official result like this. It’s a win for Ben Moley in three points. Second place Ben Trigger and two points. Third Mickey Simpson one point. And Aaron Butcher no score. A chance to just repreeze that start for you. And the rider in white there making a good clean start. Gets to the first bend ahead of Ben Trigger on the inside. Clamps him down. And although Ben Trigger is alongside going down the back straight, Moley has a little bit more speed and is able just to get the bike over Trigger. Trigger gets sent a bit wide on that corner. And again, that’s the way it concluded with a win for the man from the Kent Eagles. Now on we go to heat number four. And local interest in this one with Charlie Southwick, the rider in the red helmet, the local lad. He’s got a big task on his hands here. He’s relatively inexperienced or very inexperienced at championship level, but no doubt out to do his best in front of uh uh what would be a home crowd for him. Here’s your lineup. Charlie Southwick on the gate number one in the red helmet. Next to him, Eli Meadows in the blue helmet on gate number two. Then it’s Nathan Hargrave in white on gate number three. And uh Paul favorite Daryl Richings, he has the yellow helmet from the outside starting position. So there we go. Those are your riders for heat number four. After this race, every rider will have completed one of their five rides. Then we’ll take a brief look at the early leaderboard for you. So riders uh just preparing there as you can see across the [Music] gate. Two-minute clock gradually ticking down. Looks like we’ve got everybody in their right places. So let Marshall do his thing and see how we go as they head off in heat number four. And it’s a good start there for the rider in blue. That’s Eli Meadows, but not as good as Daryl Richings, who comes from the outside and takes up the race at the front of the field. So, Eli Meadows is a rider in blue in second place and Charlie Southwick steady in red around the inside. There’s Daryl Richings in shot and Eli Meadows just running wide there. And Charlie Southwick is applying the pressure and that’s where the racing is at the moment. Certainly no doubt about Richings out front. Eli Meadows and Charlie Southwick the two riders who are doing battle for the minor positions in this one. Eli Meadows holding on at this stage. So Meadows in blue in second place leads Charlie Southwick in red for the third place there. And there’s a lap to go. Meadows and Southwick still at it. But uh one hole straight ahead is the rider who’s going to come across the line to take the checker flag in yellow, Daryl Richings. Second place in blue is Eli Meadows. Third in red, Charlie Southwick. And the fourth finisher in white was Nathan Hargrave. So uh if anything’s easy, then that probably was the easy one for Daryl Richings tonight. three points on his score chart as the riders head back to pits. So, let’s just see the riders out of the gate. And Daryl Richings there has uh made the best of the start from the outside. Nathan Hargrave on one wheel for the first 10 meters wrecked his chances of points in that race and the minor places contested right the way through the heat really by Eli Mez and Charlie Southwick with no no change of position there. So there’s uh Daryl Richings looking the part out in front and he went on to put three points on his score chart. Two for Eli Med, one for Charlie Southwick, nothing for Nathan Hargrave. And here’s your leaderboard after the first round of qualifications. Paul Stark, Vinnie Ford, Ben Moley, Daryl Richings, your co-leaders ahead of Max James, Cooper Russian, Ben Trigger, Eli Meadows. For second places, Ashton Vil, Jacob Clouting, Mickey Simpson, one point for their third finishes and yet to score, Sunny Springer, Jamie Erington, Aaron Butcher, and Nathan Hargrave. So there we are. That’s the way we look after four heats. 20 heat meeting of course, plus any runoffs that might be required along the way. tractors out at the moment then because uh as the uh format allows Daryl Richings does two races on the trot. He’s heat four and then he goes again in the next race, heat number five. So extra time allowed. And now let’s go over to the pits and see who Beth is chatting with at the moment. What a first for Heats. But let’s just say it is not all decided straight away. That track is going to change plenty throughout the evening. But the winner of heat one, Paul start. Paul, I wonder if we can grab a very quick word. Obviously, very last minute call up to come and compete straight away. How was that phone call? First of all, not not planning on racing. Not really, but you know, I’m not on the bike enough. Um I’m probably the least active rider in the whole of British Speedway. So, for me, you just need to get as much track time as possible and, you know, help help the club out if they need it. Um and it’s yeah valuable for me and also if I can help the club uh bring some people in then that’s what I’m here to do. That’s amazing. And how did it feel? I mean obviously that’s heat one so there’s a lot of time to go but were you happy with how your bike was? Not just I’m trying a few things now. Uh just trying to get the bike a bit sharper from the start. The track’s very different today. Uh it’s maybe a less material on it than we’d normally be used to. So I’m having to sort of just set up for that a little bit. But yeah, it’s just it’s good to just get on the bike really and uh if I can, you know, help anyone out as well if they need any help or anything, you know, that’s what I’m here to do. So, yeah, just uh it’s all good. And what’s it like mindset wise? Cuz obviously normally you’re here, you’re riding for Paul, but obviously coming into an individual, does that change things a lot for you or is it pretty much the same? Not really. You know, I’m just, you know, I’m here to do my job and that’s obviously it’s not a team event, but it it is really, isn’t it? It’s for the club, isn’t it? And it’s also for a lot of the younger people to put themselves on show as well. So yeah, it’s just good to be a part of it and if I can help then I’ll help. That’s amazing. Right, I will let you get back. Well done for that first heat and good luck for the rest. Awesome. Paul Stark, such an amazing guy. Right, I have been looking around throughout that first four heats and let me tell you, there is not a single rider who hasn’t been making changes to their bike straight away. There is so much on the line with this. And as we heard from Paul, it’s an amazing start. I have just seen the two minutes is already back on. So, I’m going to head straight back up to Rob to take you through the next four. Great to hear from the riders uh as the meeting progresses and Paul Stark there, one of the experienced campaigners and uh he’s been in a few individual meetings in his time, so he knows the lie of the land. As Bear says, we’re under two minutes now for the next heat, heat number five in our Harbor Masters Championship tonight. And um if I’m not mistaken, I think we’ve got a couple of the uh early race winners coming head-to-head in this one in the shape of Ben Moley and Daryl Riching. So be interesting to see how those guys get on as they face up to one another. Work going on there on Cooper Russian’s bike. Many hands make light work or do too many cooks pour the broth. Take your pick. On screen now in the white helmet color that looks very much like Jacob Clouting on his way round to tapes. Just one point on the scoreboard first time around, but he’s out for more. No doubt about that. And we can see Daryl Richings there swapped over from the yellow to the red helmet color and he’s on his way to tapes straight away. Jacob Clouting there, son of former pirate and Nipswitch favorite survas clouting. And uh Jacob who this year has got two teams to race for with Oxford in the National Development League and Kent in the National Development Trophy. [Music] Let’s bring you the lineup then for heat number five. Gate number one in red, Daryl Richings out for a second ride on in succession. Next door to him in blue is Max James. Then in gate number three in white is Jacob Clouting. Gate number four in yellow is Ben Moley. Well, we saw Daryl win from gate number four last time out. Has Ben got enough uh horsepower there to produce another race win from that outside starting position? Yes, we uh we do know he is a good starter. So, let’s see what happens in heat number five. And away they go to the first bend. And this time it’s Daryl Richie off the inside who makes the best start and takes Max James through with him. Ben Moley not quite getting there from the outside starting position and the rider starting to battle it out for second, third and fourth with Richards now stretching clear. Max James in second place holding off the attentions of Ben Moley. Ben Moley with a lot of speed down the back straight but his runs cut off by James and now Max James just a little bit wayward into Ben number four. It leaves a gap on the inside which Ben Mley is trying to exploit. Not quite there at the moment. Jacob clouting his tail a little bit at the moment. Daryl Richings up front. One lap to go. He’s going okay. Second and third place is settling down now. It looks like Max James there just overlocking a little bit in that corner. But he’s got enough speed to keep himself ahead of Ben Moley. And they come off the final. Ben will call them home. Red, blue, yellow, and white. Red, blue, yellow and white. Daring Richings there taking his second win of the evening. And there’s Daryl on screen. No doubt very happy with his work so far and gets a good evation from the folks here in the grand stand. So the official result of heat number five is a win for Daryl Richings. Three points to Daryl. Second place in blue was Max James and two points. Third in yellow, Ben Moy, one point. And the fourth finisher was Jacob Clouting. No score. Let’s have a look at the way they got away from the tapes. Ben Moley was uh looking to be pretty good there, but Daryl Richings from the inside Perth seemed to drag Max James through in front of him. It left Ben Moley struggling a wee bit and tried as Ben might. He didn’t actually let lay a glove on Max James and uh that’s the way the race ended up. Close for second and third but uh no pass unfortunately for Ben although it was maximum effort. So good work from Richings with two wins so far, six points and uh sitting pretty until he goes again I think is a long wait for him now. Heat number 12. number one. On we go. It’s riders on screen for heat number six. We’re going to have first time winner as Paul Stark there. He’s coming out on track and uh two of the young protagonists also out with him this time round. Let’s have a look at the gate positions. We’ve got Eli Meadows in red gate number one. Ben Trigger blue gate number two. Paul Stark white gate number three. and Cooper Russian in yellow gate number four. That’s your lineup for heat number six of the Harbor Masters individual trophy here at Paul Stadium this evening. [Music] Ben Trigger doing a lot of uh digging there to get himself a good [Music] position and the riders just holding off uh before they come up to tapes. They’re real neat. There’s uh plenty of time on the clock. So they now look to have found the right spot. So we go again with heat six and away from the tapes. Ben Trigger in blue looks like he’s made a good one. But Paul Stark there coming across from gate number three has done his business. But around the outside the young man Cooper Russian brave as you like part of a lion but experience of Paul Stark sends Russian back to second place there. Ben Trigger running third and out the back it’s Eli Meadows. So Paul Stark having a little bit of work to do in the first corner but gets his nose in front and he heads off into the clear air up front with Cooper Russian in second place and a Ben Trigger in third. You can see that Stark and Russian are having a bit of a ding-dong, but Russian a little bit wide in the corners there and allows Stark to stretch his legs uh a few meters further. They’re just coming round to complete the race now and round bends three and four for the last time. We can call them home. White, yellow, blue, and it will be red. And so it is white yellow, blue, and red. Second ride of the night and second win of the night for Paul Stark there. He just uh turns around and heads back to uh pit lane straight [Music] away. We can have another look at it as they uh go from the gate. Looked to be a good start there by Ben Trigger, but Paul Stark powered his way into the lead on that first corner. And Ben Trigger down low left a gap there for Cooper Russian. Russian came around the outside. I think he might have tried to think about going the whole way round, but uh he couldn’t make it. And leading it out all the way then was uh Paul Stark. Now I’m joined in the commentary position by Will Ken’s and uh we’ll just get Will Kitted up with a microphone and maybe after this race I’ll have a quick word with uh with Will to see how he is. Will, are you you okay? Can you hear us? Hello. Yeah, all good. Congratulations. Welcome to Paul and uh I guess you’re a bit disappointed you’re not out there at the moment. Yeah, you know, it’s I’m very disappointment uh or disappointed to be uh not over there at the start line. I’m, as you can see, I’m still up in the stands watching, but um yeah, you know, I got an MRI tomorrow um down up in Manchester, so it’s going to be good and we’re just going to hope for the best. Okay, let’s just call the riders here for heat number seven. They’ll be coming up on screen any second now. On the inside gate in red is going to be Aaron Butcher. Next door in blue, Charlie Southwick. Gate number three in white is Jamie Eington. And gate number four is Ashton Vale. I guess these are riders you’ve ridden against before, Will. Yeah, they’re all they’re all uh very good class in this this meeting today. Ashton been riding with him since since Right House days back in uh oh, probably about 2018 2019 now. So um yeah, Jamie Effington uh about my age from Kent. He’s uh he’s a hard charger. He tries. He’s a very hard driver indeed. Um who did you say was Ashton Ash in blue? Charlie South. Charlie Southwick again. Okay, off we go to the first bend. Looks like a decent start out of the inside gate for Aaron Butcher, but powering round the outside and almost getting his nose in front, but not quite was Ashton Bale. So, we’ve got Aaron Butcher riding it out in front at the moment. Aaron Ashton Bale in yellow, in blue, Charlie Southwick. We’re getting all the colors mixed up here. Charlie Southwick in blue. He’s in third. And Jamie Eington in white out the back. So on screen we’ve got Aaron Butcher as you can see. He obviously made some tweaks after that first race because from a last place he’s gone to a first place and doing well as well to lead out Ashton Bale and local lad Charlie Southwick not disgracing himself so far with just about a lap to go. Aaron Butcher leads it out from Ashton Bale. Charlie Southwick, Jamie Atington just about pulling it back from Charlie, but a little bit of a lock there and he goes back. So, we’ll call them home in the running of heat number seven. Red, yellow, blue, and white. A win there for Butcher. Will, what you think? Yeah, very good heat from Aaron Butcher there. Uh, gate and go. Made a beautiful start off of the inside gate there. And uh Ashton Vale gave him a gave him a quick quick go around uh around the outside down the back straight, but um Aaron Aaron dealt with him good and uh Charlie Southwick was was was gaining on Ashton for a little bit there and uh Ashton just decided to put his head down and get going. Yeah, that’s right. And can you learn, Will, from watching the riders here and see how they how they ride the track? Can you learn from them? Yeah, I every day is a learning day when you’re at the speedway. Um I I look for many different things. Um you know how people start, how the track develops. Um obviously this is my new home home team, so that’s definitely a close eye is just learning how the how the starts uh change during the night. Obviously um Danny Ford, they rip them all they’re always ripped up here. Um so yeah, just learning how the track changes and where the holes are and how how much grip, how much water. Um yeah, just just really keeping a close eye on how the track develops. Tell us a little bit about how your season’s gone so far. Will Yeah, it’s it’s been going good. Very good. Uh with the Leicester the Leicester Fox Cubs in in the National Trophy. I’ve got I’ve had four meetings and I’ve dropped uh one point. So that’s uh definitely a good start to the season. Obviously, I’m a little bit injured now, so um it’s never ideal to to come in to uh just a couple weeks from my birthday and get injured. Um, but yeah, I got MRI tomorrow and uh we got the riders now. Well, let’s have a look then at heat number eight and it’s Sunonny Springer who takes up the red helmet on the inside starting position. Vinnie Ford, the rider in blue from gate number two. Vicky Simpson’s in white out of gate number three and Nathan Hargrave is in yellow from gate number four. And uh Paul fans I’m sure will be uh rooting here for their former favorite Vinnie Ford. A classy winner first time out and no doubt out to do it again. Riders just holding off the tapes for a moment. There’s plenty of time on the clock so uh they could come forward and get themselves ready but uh such as the way of a speedway rider. You like to leave things to last minute I guess. Yeah. I always give myself at least 30 seconds to get ready in at the start. But uh here we go then. Here we go. Number eight. Strong pull off the gate there. Vinnie Ford. He gets his nose just about round Sunny Springer to get himself to the front there. So it’s Vinnie Ford leaning out there. Vicky Simpson riding around the outside of Sunny Springer. Great racing between these two boys, red and white. There’s nothing being asked or given there. Very tight. Vicky Simpson just about gets Sunny Spring around the outside. Grass Tracker, I think, making Simpson and putting Grass Track experience to use there without the front. It’s Benny P. He’s uh looking smooth and he’s looking like he knows exactly the fastest way around Wimborn Road. Vicky Simpson sitting into settle settles into second place ahead of Sunny Springer and they go over the line with one lap to go. Benny Ford is Shiman at the front. Vicky Simpson now settled into second. Sunny Springer third and Nathan Harbre finding it a little tricky at the back there. Let’s call them home. Blue, white, red and it will be yellow. Blue, white, red, yellow with Vinnie Ford taking the spoils in heat number eight. And an interesting battle there, wasn’t it, for two laps, three laps between Mickey and Sunny. Yeah, very good ride there from Vinnie. Uh just really composed. Uh other since last year, I’ve I’ve definitely noticed he’s calmed himself down a lot. Um he was kind of the known known in in the pits as being the crasher or or the one the hotthehead, shall we say? Um but yeah, you see the replay there. You know, just gated well. Um yeah, very good start. Mickey just lifting a little bit there. Sunonny made a good one also. Gave Vinnie a little bit of a look up the inside, but Vinnie just again just cracked on. Um got got tight coming into the into the third bend there with Mickey and Sunny, but um Sunny got the better of him. Yeah, good racing between those two boys as uh no quarter still given and that’s the that’s the way we like it. Well, you’re going to be racing at Paul’s very soon, arm injury permitting, of course. But, um, this isn’t the only place you’re going to be new to because I believe you’ve got a ride coming up in Poland in their under 24 league and also maybe in Sweden as well. Yeah. So, uh, yeah, Sweden’s a little bit touch and go. It’s, uh, it’s really about how the other riders cuz I’m a foreigner for them. Uh, I come in on a little bit of a higher average, so it’s hard to fit me in the team. But uh Poland is is going to be my first my first uh my first match as a 16-year-old. Um July the 1st is going to be uh away for Gorj um or not for Gorj for Zelenora in Gorj. And uh yeah, so it’s going to be good and we’re going to just try my hardest for for every team. I always try my hardest and uh I’m here on the second I believe for the uh pool pirates versus Glasgow. Yeah. So that’s an interesting start, isn’t it? A Polish under 24 match followed immediately by a championship meeting on screen. What’s happening there will tell us a bit about that. Yeah. So I I’ve been informed by my granddad actually Dennis Kens if you’re watching. Hi granddad. Um, but yeah, that I need to say a little bit more about the about what happens and get give a little bit tell it tell some secrets. So, uh, there you can see Sunny Springer’s bike. Um, hello everybody. Uh, you can see Sunny Springer’s bike. They were just blowing out the blow blowing out the boat belt drive. Um, it’s very important on the belts because every start we get uh we have clutch plates and every start the clutch gets a little bit worn and worn and worn and clutch clutch dust builds up there. So, um, always make sure on the belts to blow it out. Not so bad on the chains cuz it kind of self-dispose, shall we say. Uh, but very important to blow it out, otherwise you get get clutch drag, which can cause you to roll at the start, which could get you disqualified or put off of a handicap. And is there a difference from a riding point of view of using belts to chains? Yeah, I I use belts myself and uh I I find work very hard with Greg and we we tested and we tested. I find that they’re a little bit better off the start. Uh some some guys some guys use uh chains. Obviously, all the top boys use chains, but uh it’s just personal preference to be honest. I I’m doing well on the belts at the minute, so I just I just um going to stick stick with what I know of. And tell us what that little box is we were looking at there, to uh I believe that is Ashton Veil’s bike. Uh that is the car box. Brian Brian Carer has came out with or he hasn’t came out with he’s just developed the uh the magic box. Um so yeah, it’s you got all program program uh ignition. So you see the plus button there and uh to the left of that the covers are blocking it. You got a minus button. So you can um you can manually change the ignition uh at the start line if you wanted to. As you can see on the other bike there, it’s got the standard PVL. He hasn’t got it on that other bike, which is interesting actually. So that means that he’s running over a different engine or he’s or he’s uh Yeah, he must be running a different engine. But with the cargo boxes, they’re they’re very good. You um if we get a sight on the other side of that engine. Uh there we go. Other bike. Other bike. Perfect. There we go. As you can see, there’s no timing ignition or timing cover, shall we say? So, man, usually on the on the other bike, there will be a cover there. Uh as you can see, it’s flat. There’s uh so usually like Paul Stark for for we’ll take Paul Stark. You can see the black the black bit there. They usually take that off and uh you can manually change the timing there. But there’s usually uh on the other bike there’s you can do it manually on the cargo box which is very handy. There’s also a a programmable start start function where when the revs hit 13 and a half thousand, it will manually the ignition and um and it will it until we hit I think it’s 9 or 10,000 uh RPMs and then we’ll uh it will atard it will give you more power. So it’s very handy function indeed and effectively it’s providing the electrical spark isn’t it? Yes, exactly. So, so that that ignition it it um it’s all programmable. You just plug plug your laptop in and and it comes up with all the uh all of the tricks and bits in that’s involved there and we can program it all and uh just test test and test. Yes. And uh that two-minute lesson that you’ve just given us there, Will, very interesting indeed. And uh it just shows how technology has moved forward, particularly in terms of speedway machinery and gone of the old days when you used to chuck it in the back of a car and take it to a track and you’d pull it out at the other end and ride it again. Today it’s a lot more sophisticated than that. And those little uh technical bits that Will’s just described there go to prove it. Yeah, it’s uh another function of the engine is there there is also a uh a cam pickup instead of just the standard um other pickup. I don’t know what it’s called, but yeah, cam pickup. So, it’s it’s it actually fires every other stroke. So, it doesn’t fire on the exhaust stroke. It just fires on the on the power stroke, I call it. Um so, it definitely reduces the vibrations, which just gives you a little bit of a smoother ride. Yeah. If you’ve gone out to make a cup of tea, you can now come back in again at the end of our mechanical lesson. Thank Thanks. Well then, it’s interesting to a lot of us, I know. Um, so there we go. We’re back under the 2-minute time allowance. Almost under the two-minute time allowance for riders in heat number nine. And it’s Nathan Hargrave who’s been allowed the extra time because he’s doing two on the trot. The two-minute morning is on now. And so in heat number nine, we’ve got the riders coming back out onto track number one. We just heard from him a moment ago in the pits. There’s Aaron Butcher in yellow there. He was a winner last time out. [Music] And here’s Nathan Hargrave coming out for his third ride, but so far unfortunately no points to [Music] Nathan. And the chance will just to comment on Cooper. Cooper Russian, one of your great compatriots there. He’s in red in gate number one. Nathan Hargra’s blue gate number two. Max James white gate number three. Aaron Butcher yellow gate number four. Yeah, Cooper just got back from the SGP3. Did very well. Bless him. He’s done. He tried. He is very tough up the top there. But uh yeah, just came back from the SGP3. I believe this is his first time back in the 500s. But yeah, you know, he’s a motorcyclist. He can ride anything. And um but yeah, I rode with him a lot um last year on the 250s. He’s a brilliant kid, just so down to earth and he will tell you how it is and he he’s a he’s a motorcyclist and um he’s off the I believe which is the favorite gate here. So um yeah, you just see him see him doing him start his starts thing, doing the routine that we that we all have and um let’s see how this this heat pans out. Okay, we got the riders just uh coming up to the line now. Takes up and away they go. Cooper Russian making a good one out the inside box there. And he’s joined up front in the white helmet by Max James. Aaron Butcher down on the first bend with some equipment on the track as well. Not enough to hold things up. But it’s Cooper Russian showing his prowess out front at the moment and he’s uh head down and backside up down the back straight here. Yeah, Cooper made a very good start off that getting K1 there. Just really flying out front at the minute just on the edge of the dirt. That is the line here and just getting his getting his weight back coming out. Um making sure the the bike drives fully. Max James Max also made a decent start. was looking down at his throttle there. I don’t I don’t quite know what’s going on there, but uh obviously he’s got it all all figured out. He’s one stylish little rider, isn’t he? With those tassels waving in the wind. Yeah. Yeah. He’s uh we we all give him compliments in the pits like, “Oh, he Mr. Tassels.” And and that’s his nickname. So, uh yeah, win for Cooper there. Max James back in second and Nathan Har is back in third. Aaron Butcher fell on the first bend there. So, it’s a bit of unfortunate. Yep, that’s it. So, first win of the night there for Cooper comes around to receive the applause of the crowd. Quite rightly, too. Nicely done. And there’s poor old Aaron in shot there. And I’m sure he’s got a a expensive bill to think about. As Will says, Cooper rushing there off the inside gate, the favored gate. He made it work. Max James with him for the first half lap or so, but as the race unwound, so Cooper took the race to its conclusion and put a three-point score on his uh board tonight. So, he’s gone up to seven so far. Max James adds two to his total for a total of six. Aaron Butcher just with the three so far. And Nathan Hargrave, good to see he registers a point on his third ride here at Paul Stadium. Paul Stark uh will will be a teammate of yours come the uh end of the month and uh in a meeting like this, it’s one of those things where experience pays. Yeah, it’s um I I believe that uh Paul Stark will be using this as a bit of a practice for for the actual meetings, but um yeah, he he’s a he’s definitely a rider. You can tell he’s uh just got it all worked out at the minute, but um yeah, I’m looking forward to riding with him come 2nd of July. Yeah, there he is out on track on the yellow helmet color and um he’s coming out with Charlie Southwick. Charlie lives probably about 8 miles from the stadium here. So, he’s a very local lad. He’s practiced after the meeting. He’s in the white helmet color there and he comes up onto the gate. Let’s have a look at the lineup as we go across the gate. Mickey Simpson’s going to be riding in the red helmet color out of gate number one. Jacob Clouting in blue from gate number two. Charlie Southwick, two points on the score chart. So far so good. and Paul Stark. Two wins so far on the score chart. He’s in yellow off of the outside gate and he’ll be looking to confirm his place at the top of the leaderboard in this one. So, we got the riders just uh getting themselves prepared down at the gate. Do you ever hear the sound of the crowd, Will, when you’re coming up to the gate? Do you notice it? Yeah, it really depends where you are to be honest. But um yeah, you can you can kind of when you’re when you’re at the start line doing your doing your gate sometimes you have a little bit of a sing along with the music uh for the crowd. But um yeah, it’s you’re mainly just full focused uh green light magnet go. That is that is my that’s my mental my mental process is um yeah just green light magnet go. Okay, we’ll get the DJ to do a sing along storm at the starting gate for the riders. Answers on a postcard please. So, here we go. Just lining up heat number 10 ready to go. And uh we’ve got everybody there except for Mickey Simpson down on the inside is uh just a deep breath and bringing himself to the line. So, everybody’s ready. Starting Marshall’s happy. He moves away. Engine revs come up. Tapes are up and away they go. And as expected, flying out of the outside gate there, Paul Starky cuts across the field and leads out of bend number two. He’s got Mickey Simpson tucked inside for the second place. And coming around there in white, Charlie Southwick is almost in front of Jacob Clouting. Now, that would be a scalp if Charlie Southwick stayed there, but Jacob Clouting is an experienced campaigner, so he will be setting his sights on pulling Charlie in. Out front, Paul Stark. He’s away. No trouble there. Vicky Simpson steady in second place. Red helmet color there. Charlie Southwick doing great in third place there. And there’s Jacob Clouting with all the stuff to do from the back to try and find a point in this one. Over the line, one to go. Paul Stark, Becky Simpson, Charlie Southwick with Jacob Clouting still trying to reel Southwick in, but don’t think he’s going to do it this time around. Charlie’s a little bit wild on the last corner, but he’s got there, so we call them home. Yellow, red, white, and blue. Yellow, red, white, and blue. Yeah, it was funny to watch Paul there. I felt like he was having a little bit of a play there on the back wheel every straight, but uh no, it was it was good good to see Paul out front. Um there was a good battle with Charlie and Jacob uh clouting there going on the first lap as we can see here. Paul Stark makes a brilliant start for gate four. That must be a great feeling, Will, when you drop the clutch and she just drives all the way. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It is a is a very good feeling and and I’m fortunate enough to to be working with Greg, who was one of the best starters in the world. So, um yeah, it I’m I’m slowly getting there and going to try work things out before before my second 2nd of July. Let’s give the folks at home the official result then of heat number 10 is a win for Paul Stark. Three points on Paul’s scoreboard. Two points to Mickey Simpson, one to Charlie Southwick and no score for Jacob Clouting. Paul Stark goes up to nine from three rides. Mickey Simpson, he’s got five from his three rides. Charlie Southwick consistent 111, three points in three rides. And no score that time for Jacob Clouting, just a total of one. And there we are. It’s Statler and Waldorf in the commentary position doing our thing. Hope you’re enjoying what we’re bringing to you. And my extreme thanks to Will for sparing some time for coming up and having a chat with us all. Here we go then. We’ve got heat number 11 on the cards and the riders just making their way to the starting gate. And here comes your lineup. Riding in red out of the inside gate is Vinnie Ford. Riding in blue, Ben Moley. Riding in white is Ashton Vale. And riding in yellow, Eli Meadows. So, uh, we’ve got the two Kent boys on the inside starting positions with, uh, Vinnie Ford currently sitting up beaten. Uh, and Ben Moley, well, not a not a slow trapper. No, no. Ben Ben Moley is a very good rider indeed. He’s he’s he knows how to get around this place as you can tell tonight. But Vinnie Ford off the inside gate there. He’s going to be a hard charger. Uh if any can make the start, I’m sure Ben will Ben will be there or thereabouts. But uh Ashton Veil off the white white gate three there. Uh he’s actually not on that that engine I was describing earlier. But uh here we go then. Let’s have a [Music] look. Takes up and away we go with Vinnie Ford making the best of it off of the inside gate. He swings wide around the first couple of corners, but it’s certainly enough to get him to the front. And Ben Mley tucks into the second place there with Ashton Bale in third and Eli Meadows at the back. Talk us through Vinnie Ford’s style there, Will, as you watch him go around. Very, very good indeed from Vinnie. He just knew exactly where he wanted to go from the inside gate to to the outside. Um, but yeah, got in the dirt and and just pulled away. But as you can see now, just hugging the curb on that on that virgin dirt on the very inside, but Vinnie pulling a very strong lead now from Ben. Uh Ashton made a good start. It was a very equal start to be honest. I thought Vinnie would just Vinnie would just go and go, but he had the best run to the corner and and he’s leading that front now. Yep. But just half a lap to go. It’s Vinnie Ford leading out. Ben Moley in shot there as they come over the start finish line. We call them home. Red, blue, white, yellow. Just a replica of the gate positions. Red, blue, white, yellow with Finny Forge, your race winner, and three points to him. Second place was Ben Moley. Two points there. Ashton Vale picks up one point for his third place finish. And the fourth man home was Eli Meadows. No score that time. His total so far is two. Let’s have a look at the restart. And as Will said, it was an even break. Away they go. And looked like Ashton Bale there had made a fair start, but Vinnie swung it wide into the dirt on the outside of bend one and two there. And off she went into the distance. And uh from there on it was a pretty regulation race. Uh not too much passing going on, but safe safe racing and everybody home without any troubles. We’re going to heat number 12 now and this is the last race with the riders having their third race to be completed. This time around we’ve got Ben Trigger riding out of the white gate and he’ll have Daryl Richings coming from gate number one. Sunny Springer will be in blue on gate number two and Jamie Eington on the yellow gate, gate number four. Will Daryl’s had two races so far, but his last race was in heat number five and he’s now on to heat number 12. So, we’ve had seven races and conditions may have changed. How do you cope with that? Yeah, it it’s always challenging having that big gap uh of of your your second race to your third race, but um when all the other boys might have had a race in between. So, they kind of know what where how the tracks changed. Obviously, we know it’s going to be it’s going to be very much slicker since since heat 5 to heat 12. So, uh yeah. Uh, but we got Trigger off the out off gate three and um yeah, Daryl should should should do this. But Trigger’s Trigger is good around here. I’ve I’ve been watching him and uh I grew up with Ben. Um I my first meeting with Ben was at Skull Thorp and um yeah, we we’ve just been best mates ever since really. So yeah, Sunny Springer off of off of Blue. He’s he he can when he gets out front, he knows he knows uh he knows how to stay out front. and Jamie Effington. It’s going to be hard from him off of four, but uh there’s no reason why he shouldn’t do it. No. Uh it’s a real learning curve for Jamie tonight. You know, it’s the first time he’s been here and uh he’s not always a prolific scorer in the National League, but it’s early days for him yet and so as much time as possible is the experience that he needs. So, a meeting like this will do him good. So, we just settled then at heat number 12. Less than 5 seconds on the clock now, but riders are ready and away we go. And Daryl Richings makes a good start. Ben Trigger was with him for the first 30 m, but Trigger’s down unfortunately. I think he just uh slid out of track, ran out of track there. Uh nothing uh untoward at all. But red lights as you would expect there and uh good to see that everybody is a-ok. Okay, but it’s going to be a disqualification for Ben Trigger. The white disqualification light is showing. So that’s a bit unfortunate. We can see it again here. Here’s Ben. He just uh hits a little bit of dirt there. The bike straightens up on him. He heads towards the air fence and I think he has to bail out at the end of the day because uh he was on the way down. Yeah, he’s done well to get off the bike there before he before he collapsed the air fence. He, as you said, he he hit that dirt and uh maybe just wasn’t ready for it. Um and Daryl Daryl was kind of there a little bit in his way, you could say, but yeah, Daryl made the start and he was out front. So, uh, yeah, completely agree with the disqualifi disqualification event there. Yeah, it’s a shame really because, uh, I thought that he may have been, uh, a candidate for a podium position tonight, but that may have ruled that out, but uh, yeah, a very unfortunate fall from my point of view. A bit harsh. Maybe we could have gone all four. Uh, looking back, maybe it was Ben’s fault. So, uh, okay, referee’s decided, uh, we’re going to go a three rider race in the restart, and the 2-minute time allowance is actually on already and counting down to less than 120 to go. So, those boys need to, uh, get a wrigle on because, uh, we don’t want anybody losing out on, uh, time disqualifications. Yeah, I I um, looking back at it now, it it could have gone both ways really, but, um, Ben Ben’s on the phone to the referee there. I I I’ve never I don’t really bother doing that. It’s once the ref’s made his decision, the 2 minutes are on, the 2 minutes are on, he’s he’s out the race, I’m afraid. But uh you know, Ben Ben’s trying to argue his case there. And fair play to him. You know, you you don’t get what you don’t ask for. Am I right? So um yeah, but you you don’t get from Chris Do if he’s made a decision. He’s not for changing. Yeah. I Yeah. I I don’t think he’s ever left me. But uh it is what it is. Yeah. most unfortunate and uh you know our sympathies really gave out to Ben there and uh one of those nasty racing incidents and it’s just fallen against him on this occasion. Yeah, he’s got he’s got two more qualifying heats left I believe. Yeah. Yeah, two more qualifying heats left. So, two wins and it should set him in for the uh top three. Yeah. So, it should set him in for the final. So, uh so that’ll be good. So Daryl Richie’s the fortunate recipient there and he’s back on gate number one. Kate’s held a little bit of a long time there, but eventually everything gets clean away and Daryl Richards is hit the front there. A little bit of lift coming off of Ben too, but it’s under control straight away and he’s going to be away at the front of the field. Tony Springer is a rider who’s uh riding in the blue helmet color in second place. His speed’s improving during the course of the evening. He’s looks like he’s dialing himself into the way of getting around the pool track and Danny Edington learning from his uh third place position there at the back of the field and uh good chance to watch what the others do up front. Daryl’s running right around the inside, isn’t he? is not moving away from that inside line. Yeah, it’s it’s very difficult to at this this point in the meeting, you don’t really know where to ride. Do you go wide and and chase the dirt, but sometimes it can be too far out. So Daryl’s opted for the inside. Um I feel like Jamie and Sunny are kind of riding in no man’s land, if you know what I mean. Just really slick. It’s going to go blue groove, I believe. Um but uh no, very good race from Daryl there. Yes, we can give you the official result. Red, blue, yellow. No. Fourth finisher of course there. Three points for Daryl Richings, your race winner. Second place to Sunny Springer, two points. And Jamie Edmonton, he picks up one point for his third place finish. So, unbeaten so far. Daryl Richie’s on nine and alongside him, Vinnie Ford also on nine. Here’s your scorecard as we go through. and uh Paul Stark the third rider at the top of the tree there with nine. Cooper Russian moved on to seven. Ben Morty six alongside Max James, Nikki Simpson on five. Ashton Vale on four. Aaron Butcher on three. As is Sunny Springer, Ben Trigger, Charlie Southwick and Eli Meadows has two points and three riders with just the one so far is Jacob Clouting, Jamie Etheington and Nathan Hardway. of nine points each. Yeah, we are just about to uh have the tractor out again and time to pass back to Beth Sims in the pits. All right, we’ve got a little bit of controversy going on in the pits after that last heat. As you saw, of course, Ben Trigger did come down. He wasn’t particularly happy with that. So, I’m going to see if I can grab a very quick word, see what his thoughts are. Ben, We’ll wait and see. Ben, don’t suppose we can grab a really quick word, can we? Thank you so much. Okay, Ben, obviously not an ideal way to go into that last heat, but we did see you weren’t particularly happy with the ref’s cooling on that. What was your opinion on what should have happened there? Um well, I went into race knowing I had to at least have a win out of it. Um and I’ve already dropped three uh two, yeah, three points uh going into that one. So, I knew I needed a win and didn’t make a bad start, but obviously level with Daryl and I felt that I went for the dirt early on. Uh he came across the corner and left me no room uh to go. Uh, I mean, I haven’t seen the replay myself, but I know that it was very close together on on the bend and quite frankly, I I straightened up just to avoid Daryl when um I spoke to the referee um basically explained that it’s not slick out there. So, it’s not a case of you’ve been sent wide and you slick. It is grippy, but um yeah, maybe it’s just an experience thing. Maybe I should have just held my bottle in there, but at the end of the day, I’m pretty much written off for written off for the meeting. But uh going to keep me head screwed on and go out and score as many points as I can and uh just try and take at least a couple positives from tonight. Yeah, definitely. And I mean coming into tonight, of course, you are one of the riders that we do see down here a lot, especially riding for Plymouth this year. Has that helped you coming into tonight? Does that help the mindset a little bit? Um potentially. Um the only real advantage I would get I think is obviously I know the track potentially the starts as well. Obviously, I know a lot of the the National League boys don’t don’t really see grippy starts as such. And uh obviously they are quite soft today, but um I would say it gives me an advantage if I had uh three wins, but I’m not set on three wins. So, I’m going to say it doesn’t really give you an advantage. Um no, I’m still making setup changes and uh obviously when I rode last week, chat’s completely different as well. So, you are still changing setups no matter what you do. But um yeah, I mean I’ve just got to uh get back levelheaded and uh forget the rest of the night and just focus on the way forward. Yeah, completely. And it is all experience as well, isn’t it? For everyone here. I asked Paul Stark earlier a little bit and he was talking about the track too does change from week to week. Now looking from last week to this week, obviously you were coming in with Plymouth with the Gladiators. I’ll make this very quick because the two minutes are on. Is it a different feeling for you coming in as an individual rather than as a team? Um, yes and no. I mean, obviously on a team point of view, obviously you’re all going for a team win. Um, but at the same time, you’re also working on yourself because if you don’t have a good personal night, then uh obviously not only does it affect the team, but it also affects yourself. And so, you kind of have to use the same mindset of um I’m the only one in this meeting. Um, you know, if someone goes out and beat me, they’re not paying me any points. So, um, no. So, you’ve got to kind of keep the same mindset. Um, but yeah, it’s as uh as you said earlier, it’s all experience and uh you learn with every ride and uh obviously making some setup changes now and uh we’ll go again. Amazing. Well, thank you and we’ll wish you luck for the rest of the evening and we’ll see you very soon. Cheers. Thank you. Awesome. Right, two minutes are on. The riders are out on track. So, I will throw it back to you, Rob. Lovely jobly. Thanks, Beth. And uh brilliant to get the instant reaction, isn’t it, of Ben Trigger there after the incident that saw him disqualified. And real tough luck on Ben. We’re on to heat 13 of the meeting tonight. And uh the lineups will be with you any second now, but uh it looks to me as if we’ve got all riders out on track, ready to go. Let’s bring up the graphic for you any second and we’ll give you the full starting lineup. [Music] And there you go. Jamie Etheington rides red out of gate number one. Mickey Simpson is in blue gate number two. Eli Meadows is in white gate number three. And Max James is in yellow out of gate number four. A huge thanks to Will Ka for joining us. Will’s now returned to the pits. But uh fascinating to hear Will, a very eloquent young man and he’s going to be a major asset for the Pirates. No doubt about that. Both on the track and uh off of it as well. So fantastic to have had Will with us this evening. But meantime, heat number 13, we uh are on with the racing. Riders at the line ready to go. Starting Marshall’s happy. He moves away. takes the release and away they go to the first bend and uh it looks like right around the outside and it’s a good work indeed from Max James there in yellow. Well done to Max. He’s got himself into pole position ahead of Mickey Simpson. Eli Meadows runs in third place and Jamie Edington is your fourth rider in the red helmet color. So, Max James taking it away out the front of the field there with Nikki Simpson tucked in and starting to exert some pressure. It’s probably set on Max James and Mickey Simpson there running an inside line on James and almost paying off now. Can these guys control it and keep it on the island? Well, Mickey Simpson’s doing his utmost to power past Max James. Max James just holds him off. It’s the best race of the night, I think, so far. And those two boys really going for it. And Mickey Simpson goes up the inside. James comes down. They come over the line. Blue, red, white at the moment. We don’t see any red lights on. So, we’re going to be waiting on referee Chris Sterno’s decision there. And it was great racing all the way through. But uh as I say, we are a little bit unclear there on the outcome. We we hope it’s going to be uh as they finish, but unfortunately Max James, they’re just uh down on the track, but up and uh they’re uh they’re they’re okay. That’s right. That’s the main thing. And Max James just walking back to the pits. Soon as we can, we will give you the official result. And there you can see uh the two boys going very very close together there. And it was Mickey Simpson who snuck around on the inside and Matt James who took the tumble. Here comes the official result. Mickey Simpson Mickey Simpson wins the race. So well done to him. 2.9 second place that would have been Jamie Eington and Eli Meadows was given the fourth play of the third place. So just to repeat that for you. We had a win there for Mickey Simpson in blue. Second Jamie Eington in red. Third Eli Meadows in white. and the unfortunate Max James there excluded. So, uh, on the scoreboard, Max James takes his score to six points, Jamie Evington to three, Mickey Simpson goes up to eight, and Eli Meadows to three. All right, number 14, 2 minutes on the clock and this is a big race. Three riders here with three maximums, nine points a piece. for the run in red on number one. Are you making noise for now? Here we go with heat number 14. And this one is a very interesting race indeed because it brings together the three leaders in the meeting into one race. You can see Aaron Butcher on screen there in yellow. Wouldn’t it be a shock if he won the race? You never know, do you? But let’s have a look at the full and official lineup for the 14th race this evening. It gives Paul Stark, the rider in red, out of gate number one. Daryl Richings, he’ll be in blue in gate number two. Vinnie Ford goes white in gate number three. And Aaron Butcher is your rider in yellow in gate number four. So, uh, this is a real mega race in the context of what’s happened so far. And of course, uh, somebody’s going to come out on top and somebody’s going to lose their unbeaten tags. And, uh, it’s no doubt going to be influential in the outcome of the meeting as we unwind over the last six or seven [Music] races. Gate number one. Well, could that be the advantage that Paul Stark needs? Let’s see. It possibly could be, but we know about Vinnie. Vinnie likes the wide line and maybe he’ll be looking to sweep around Paul on the first corner. And Daryl, well, he’ll be there to spoil it all. Let’s have a look as we go [Music] racing. And off to the first, Ben Paul Starks made a good one from the inside. Vinnie Ford there in white and uh he cuts down to the inside. Paul Stark just with the legs to get over Vinnie Ford there at the back of the field. Aaron Butcher is down, but it’s Paul Stark leaning out from Vinnie Ford where Daryl Riching’s trying to find the wide line. Please report Aaron Butcher is up and running again, but it’s Paul Stark who leads out. Vinnie Ford is doing the work to try and catch up. Carol Richings a little bit of drift at this stage, but Paul Stark there in the red helmet color. He’s sweeping around bends one and two, and he’s starting to put a little bit of distance between himself and Vinnie Ford. It was a great first turn from Vinnie Ford to try and find a way through to get in front of Paul Stark. But just down the back straight, Stark had enough oomph to get through. And uh when he’s out in front, he’s going to be a tricky man to pass in this sort of meeting. Let’s call them home. Red, white, blue, and we will have yellow eventually. And the battle of the big guns goes the way of the man on gate number one, Paul Stark. So, your official result in red, the winner, Paul Stark, three points, total of 12 points on his score chart. Second place was Vinnie Ford. Two points to Vinnie, total of 11. Third place went to Daryl Richings. One point there and total 10 so far. And Aaron Butcher fell and remounted. He finished for a total of three so far. So we see the riders go back to pits. Let’s have a look at the start of this one as they uh bring the big boys together in this eventful heat. And round they go to bend one with Paul Stark. He makes the gate. Vinnie Ford there looking to try and turn under Paul Stark. But Paul Stark has just got enough horsepower to get over in front of Vinnie Ford. Bing’s not really in the mix that time, it has to be said, but it was whether Stark could hold off the attentions of Vinnie Ford. And hard as Vinnie tried, Paul Stark had enough in the tank to get him home. So there we go. Heat 14 and Paul Stark continues his winning run. Four rides, four wins. tell you next on the program is heat number 15 and we can see the riders emerging out of pit lane there. Bengger out early on the track there no doubt hoping for better luck than he had last time out 769 on a big ticket for our winner. It’s £153. Thank you for that. If you’ve supported it, collect your prize from the pirate store. Let’s see who’s going in heat number 15. It looks like this. Riding on the inside gate and red gate is Nathan Hargrave. Gate number two is Ashton Vale. He’s in the blue helmet color. Riding on gate number three in white is Ben Trigger. And on gate number four in yellow is Jacob Clouting. There we are. That’s your full lineup for heat number 15. And uh got riders there up on the tower just uh having a look to uh chat about what’s been going on out there. Charlie Southwick on the right, Sam Hagen on the left there. And we got a set of riders here who uh would be eager for points. Uh none of the big scorers so far, but they all uh don’t want to let themselves down, so they’ll want a good return from their evening’s work. This is their fourth outing out of five, of course. Just waiting for Ben Trigger to come up to position. There he is. Stanley Marshall is happy. He moves away. Green lights on. Takes are released and away they go to the first bend. And it’s Nathan Hargrave with the biggest problem there because he’s flipped it on the starting line and I think he’s uh hurt himself. So the red lights come on and it’s going to be called back for a restart. The red disqualification light is already on. So uh that does sayara to Nathan Harbrave there. bit unfortunate, but uh the inevitable decision. We can see it on replay as they go off the gate. Up goes Nathan. Away goes the back wheel. And poor old Nathan gets dumped on his back. But uh good to see he’s up and being pushed back to the pits there with James Laker. I think that is uh another upand cominging young rider, good grass tracker as well pushing Nathan back towards pit lane. So no reason for uh a delay there as uh all the riders or the three remaining riders are uh okay to continue. So the 2 minutes has come straight back on and is now counting down with less than a minute and a half to go. Jacob clouting in yellow there with dad doing the pushing. Ashton Vale also underway. Copota Danny Ford on the center green there just uh surveying things. Bit of an unusual sort of format for a meeting here at Paul. Not usually an individual type meeting, but uh an opportunity given to the youngsters. Here’s Heat 15 restarted without Nathan Hargrave on gate number one. We will have Ashton Vale on gate number two in blue, Ben Trigger in white gate number three, and Jacob Clouting in yellow on gate number four. Just waiting for the boys to come back to the [Music] line and we’ll go again and try on a restart of heat [Music] 50. And it’s a good start from Ventri there gate number three. He makes a fast start, gets himself at the front. Jacob Clouting comes around from gate number four past Ashton Bale. Clouting’s into second place. So it’s Trigger leads Clouting leads Vale as they complete one lap head now on the second now. And Trigger who is in front on several occasions last week when Plymouth were here recording race wins for the Gladiators. Looks like he’s going to record himself a race win here tonight. Round he goes on the pits bend there. He’s well uh well steady as is Jacob Clouting in second place and Ashton Vale in blue is just trickling over the line now. It looks like he might have a mechanical issue and he may have to pull onto the center. But out the front, Ben Trigger. As maybe expected, he wins the race. And Gildo, white yellow. Just two finishes in heat number 15. Taking the victory in heat number 15 in the white armor color, Ben Trigger. There’s your official result. A win for Ben Trigger in white. Three points for Ben. He moves his total for the night up to six points. Second place in yellow was Jacob Clouting. He moves his total to three. Ashton Vale was a non-finisher. He has four so far. And Nathan Hargrave there, he was excluded for the uh incident at the start of the first running. He has no points in that race. One point overall tonight. We go to heat 16 next and that’s going to see the end of the block of races where everybody has had four outings. We’ll have a look at the scoreboard after that, but uh this time around I think we’ve got a potentially interesting race coming up with two riders who often excite the crowds. Ashton Veil just walking back in. Looks a little disconulate. Hope that’s not too expensive that problem there. [Music] Money is a big thing in Speedway and you have uh engine blowups and things like that, they can cost a lot of dough. So, let’s hope that it’s something relatively simple for him to put right and that we get to see him again in his final outing in heat number 19. So, you can see Ben Moley there just uh easing his way round towards the start. number two. He has that favored inside starting position. And with all the riders approaching tapes, let’s give you the official lineup for race 16, which has Ben Moley riding in red out of gate number one. Cooper Russian in blue out of gate number two, Sunonny Springer in white gate number three, and Charlie Southwick in yellow in gate number four. So there we are and uh the two exciting riders Moley and Russian drawn together on the inside start positions. See how they get on when they head off to the first bend. Will K’s back up on the gantry there talking to some of his uh youth compatriots. And great to see Neil Vatcher here, the uh Young Lions team manager and SCB administrator, keeping a weathered eye out on some of the riders, some of his proteges that uh he’s working so hard with over the course of the season. And uh the improvement in these riders year on year is uh evident to see. So we got the riders settling at the gate. Starting Marshall’s just uh indicated he’s happy and he walks away. Up go the tapes and out of the box is Ben Moley in red flying away from position number one. But on the first turner, well, it’s Cooper Rushton who’s trying to find a room up the inside of Ben Moley. Bourne swings it wide. Rushton’s down on the inside line looking for a pass on the inside. Now, this will be interesting to see what Cooper can do from down there. And I think he’s done him. He certainly has. Up the inside on bend number two. Cooper Russian moves to the front. Great piece of racing for the young man. Down at the back of the field, we mustn’t neglect the fact Charlie Southwick and Sunny Springer are doing battle. Local lad Southwick ahead of Sunny Springer at the moment. But up front, Russian in blue leads it out. Balling in second and into bend number one. We’ve got a tumble there with Sunny Springer and Charlie Southwick. They got very close. The red lights are on. Charlie Southwick is down but fortunately up again as you can see and the referee is going to make a decision here and it will be a disqualification for the rider in white. So that is Sunny Springer. He obviously referee obviously feels that Sunny Springer brought Charlie Southwick down. We may be able to see on replay shortly. But there we go. That looks like a bit of a heavy tumble, but fortunately Charlie is straight back up and uh there with Isa White supreo Barry Bishop just checking on Charlie Southwick. was awarded. So if you heard on the stadium announcement there that the heat is awarded and it’s awarded in favor of Cooper Russian. Three points to him and a total of 10 so far. Second place went to Ben Moley for two and there was one point there for Charlie Southwick. He’s got a total of four. Here’s your leaderboard. And uh it looks like this with Paul Stark on 12, Vinnie Ford on 11, Cooper Russian on 10, now with Daryl Richings. Then we move down to fifth place at the moment. Ben Mley on eight, tied with Mickey Simpson also on eight. Ben Trigger and Max James also have six points each. Ashton Vale on four. Charlie Southwick on four. Aaron Butcher on three, Jacob Clouting on three, Jamie Eington on three, Eli Meadows on three, Sunny Springer on three, and uh Nathan Hargreav has the one point so far from his evening’s work. Time to head back to pit corner and Beth, see what you got. All right, nearly there. We’ve got four more heats left to go. And there has been so much midc corner over here. I can see Keeping the vibes up. That’s what we like. I’m here with Kevin Smith. Now, coming into this meeting, obviously, it’s a very different thing down at Wimborn Road. We’re so used to seeing the Pirates. We’re used to seeing team riding. What’s the difference when it comes to these individual meetings? Of course, it is the National Development League as well. What sort of things change when we’re watching a meeting like this? Uh, sorry, he caught me completely unaware that. Yeah, I’m just thinking I’m not honestly really sure. Um, but I’ve been quite surprised by the poor boys tonight. I mean, I must admit that the ones that sort of struggle in a league match, how they’ve managed to go out there and perform wonders tonight. I mean, yeah, certainly riders that I weren’t expecting to go really well have gone exceptionally well. Um but yeah, no, it’s a preparing for a meeting is no different to any league match really. It’s just uh yeah, there’s just a lot of pride and a lot of uh testosterone out there tonight because they’re all young blood and they’re all trying to prove themselves and it’s um yeah, it’s um good to watch. So that’s all right. Definitely. And do you think you were talking about the pool boys there? Do you think that will help them a little bit with confidence coming into next week and further weeks onwards as well? Yes, 100%. Yeah. Yes, definitely. Yeah, it’s good to be against it. Riders of equal caliber and similar age groups anyway and to sort of judge where you’re at really and yes, hopefully it’s h benefits the pool team coming up in the long run. Awesome. And we’ve obviously we’ve got 16 riders out there. We’ve spoken about the pool boys. Are there any others that have surprised you tonight? Um well I was expecting Cooper Russian to go quite well really. He’s had a good start to the year. Um yeah I’m not I don’t follow the young scene awfully a lot actually but as I say that tonight there’s uh yeah there’s been certainly a couple that go well but um don’t know who else has really surprised me but it’s a shame that will k weren’t here to show us what is all about but uh but still no they’ve done all right so awesome. Well, I’ll let you go. Thank you so much for talking to us. I’ll just have a look. I think we’ve got a bit more time. And so, if they’re going to blow whistles at me, I am going to try and grab some of Nick Corner as well. So, I’m seeing half of them running away. Thank you very much. If you were the winner of the 50/50 draw, we’re coming in. I’m also going to Tony, how are you? How are you enjoying the meeting tonight? If you were the winner, recommend you get to store very quickly. Yeah. Have you got any any of the riders that have really surprised you coming into tonight? Not really. No. I mean, Cooper, we all know, is a very good rider. Vinnie Ford we all know about to be honest with you. Paul is the class rider on the field and should really win it. Yeah, definitely. And was that kind of your favorite? Was he someone you were rooting for tonight? Um, yeah, really. When you got a field, I mean really and truly you should win it, you know. I mean, he is a class ride on the field. Definitely. And we’re seeing a couple of past pirates, some that have guested for us as well in people like Ben Trigger. And of course, we’ve got Vinnie Ford coming in as well. Has it been nice to see them improve and how they’re going around the track now? Yeah, definitely. I mean, Vinnie’s come on quite a bit. He’s still [Music] bit inviter. Awesome. Well, I’ve just heard the two minutes is on and we have got four more heats to bring you. Who’s going to come out on top? I’ll throw it back to Rob to talk you through. Thanks, Beth. Doing a great job over there in the pits for us. and uh just mention our absent friend Scott Mitchell today, Scotty. Uh happy birthday for tomorrow. Uh I know it’s a big one for you and I hope you’re feeling better after the events of earlier in the week. Look forward to having you back in the box just as soon as Pirates TV are broadcasting again in a couple of weeks time. And uh for people looking in on the stream, uh I’ve got uh I’ve been prompted to say uh evening to Sarah Trigger and all the Trigger gang down in Plymouth who are looking after Ben and his exploits and also to Shan Simpson who’s looking in. Sean, I know you’re uh interested in the performance of Mickey. He’s doing a good job for us. So it’s great to have him down at Paul. Thanks to everybody who’s looking in up and down the country and in further a field, maybe even Saskatchewan. Is that right, Julie? I’m sure it is. Let’s go to heat number 17. Riding in red, Max James. He’s going to be coming up for his fifth ride. All the riders coming for their fifth rides and the final ride of the night. But he’s got a tough task against him because uh one of the uh favorites is in in the meeting as well in the race as well. Max James then red gate number one. Next door to him, gate number two, blue Vinnie Ford. 11 points so far. Gate number three, young Charlie Southwick. Scored in every ride from the local lad. So, good work from him. He’ll be in white. And on the outside race winner last time out is yellow helmet of Ben Trigger. So, there we go. That’s your lineup for heat number 17. We’re just waiting for Charlie Southwick. I think they’re unbending the bike that took a bit of a tumble last time out, but uh looks like he’s up and running and on his way to the tapes right now. [Music] So there’s Charlie last to the party. Let’s see how we go on when we go racing in heat 17. And out the takes in blue is going to be Vinnie Ford and Ben Trigger in too far behind him. Ben trying the outside run to see if he can get close to Vinnie, but Vinnie locks it down to the inside and he looks like he’s got things pretty much under control. Ben Trigger is still leaping away behind Vinnie Ford then looking for some traction to see if he can get on terms with the former pirate. Max James runs in third place there in the red helmet color and Charlie Southwick is out the back at the moment. So Vinnie Ford there in blue tugging it around the inside line. Somebody’s lost a chain guard as they’ve come over the start finish line. And Vinnie Ford there just easing it around Ben’s three and four. There’s the chain guard in the middle of the track as you can see. And I think that’s probably going to be stopped because of that piece of equipment on the line or it may have been because of the fall on bend number four. I didn’t quite see that, but we’ll have to uh see what happens. Uh well, the what has happened is this the white disqualification light has come on. So, I guess that must be as a result of a fall for Charlie Southwick. So, it’s Charlie Southwick being pushed away as you can see. Fortunately, as he comes by. No damage done. He looks to be okay. And uh I think he’s going to come back and collect his chain guard. Yes, he is. So, race 17 awarded then and awarded in the order that we were watching them. Ben Trigger, race winner. No, incorrect. Vinnie Ford, race winner. Three points, 14 to date. Ben Trigger, he picked up two points there and totals eight and Max James one point for a total of seven. So there’s Vinnie Ford. He’s uh just completed a a lap of honor if you like. Will his 14 points be enough to uh get him over the line in first place? He’s going to have to rely on Paul Stark’s opponents to lower his colors. And it’s on to heat number 18. And Paul Stark next around the world. And could be the race that decides things as far as the Harbor Master Trophy is concerned. Red helmet color on gate number one. Ben Moley on gate two then with an excellent score from his first four and a win here to seal the championship for this man Allstar on screen. Ben Moley fast trapper coming out of the pits there. He’s got gate number one I believe this time around and Paul Stark will be next door on gate number two. So all riders are just easing their way up to the starting gate. And we can bring you the lineup for this the 18th race of the evening which will see Ben Moley riding from gate number one. Next door to him is Paul Stark in the blue helmet color gate number two, Jamie Etheington in white on gate number three and Nathan Hargrave is your rider in yellow on gate number four. So important race then with the Harbor Masters title sitting on the line here [Music] really riders getting themselves [Music] together ready to go. Starting Marshall’s happy. He moves away. Green lights on. Tapes are up and Morty’s made the best trap there. Can he hold it without start getting through him? Well, starts pushing round, pushing round, pushing round. Ben Morty. Well, he’s just down just done a little bit of speed around the outside. But, uh, Paul Stark needed that to get to the front to keep his title. Hopes well and truly boiling. So, Stark leads Moley leads Etington with Nathan Hargra at the back. Stark drops to the inside line. Ben Moley safe in second. Jamie Eterington running in third at the moment. Little bit of a procession I’m afraid, but Paul Stark out front, he won’t be worrying two hoots about that because it’s exactly what he needs to pick up the crown. So over the line, we’re one to go. Paul Stark in action on screen. He leads it away down the back straight. Taking a little bit steady around the last two corners, but uh he’s home and hosed as they say. So Stark leads Mley leads Aington leads Harrave. Blue, red, white, yellow, blue, red, white, yellow is the final result of heat number 18. [Applause] And it secures the Harbor Masters title for the man on screen, Paul Stark. [Music] Then he comes across the line and uh a little bit of celebration from Paul. He’s usually quite a reserved man, but uh that’s good to see. Glad to see he won the uh won the affection of the meeting and the crowd. So 15 points for Paul Stark. There’s your leaderboard. Top of the shop. Second place at the moment is Vinnie Ford with 14. Daryl Richings is the next man currently in third place with a ride to come. He’s equal with Cooper Russian and they both have one ride to come. Ben Moley fifth on 10 points so far. So that’s where all the action is at the top of the leaderboard. [Music] We’re moving on to heat number 19. Now the pool manufacturer of metal. Two races to go in gate number one for Ashton. Looking at the man in the white helmet color coming round there looking for a roster in place with another win possibly. Daryl Richings of course 10 points so far is Daryl and gate number four Cooper Russian need a win. a couple of wins and has to secure third place. But his nearest rival Cooper Russian in yellow also sits on 10 points. So a win there for Russian could actually take him to the podium. So uh a lot riding on heat number 19 as the riders dig in. Looking at the gate, Aaron Vale, Ash, sorry, Ashton Veil rides out the red box. Heat number one. Next door, Mickey Simpson in blue. Then in white, Daryl Richings. And on gate number four, Cooper Russian. That’s your lineup for an important heat number 19. And just looking at the way Mickey Simpson was uh improving over the course of the meeting. Yeah, he might be a man who could uh cast a little bit of a spanner into the works here. Who knows? [Music] Got to say all the lads have uh given it 100%. We’ve seen a couple of tumbles, but everybody fortunately has been uh up on their feet raring to go and uh no serious harm done. So that’s good news. We hope that all the boys will have enjoyed their trip down to Paul this evening and have gained good experience from it. So here we go then. Heat 19 takes her up. Away they go to the first bend. It’s Daryl Richings who looks to have made the best of the starts there with Cooper Rushing trying the big run around the outside, but at the moment he hasn’t got there. So, what can the young man do against the more experienced Daryl Richards? Daryl Richards leads it out. Cooper Rushton there a little bit out of shape in the corner, but he’s still plugging on. Ashton Vale is the rider in red, third place ahead of Nikki Simpson at the moment. But there’s Daryl’s Daryl Richings there who’s dropped right to the inside curb there. And that obviously seems to be the favored position for most of these guys at the moment. It does open up the track on the outside for Cooper Rush to have a go, but although he’s fast, he doesn’t seem to be making any inroads into Riching’s lead. So, with half a lap to go for Daryl Richings, he’s going to uh stick to the inside line and they’ll come off the final bend and we can call them home. White, yellow, red, and blue. White, yellow, red, and blue. And that makes a clearcut podium here tonight with Daryl Richings in the race win there, securing third spot in the championship. So, let’s just give you the official result there. And it looked like this. And you can watch the ridersh heading off to the first bend in the replay. Three points to Daryl Richings, two points to Cooper Russian, one to Ashen Vale, no score for Nikki Simpson, and uh as you can see, Daryl Richings takes a lap of honor here at Paul Stadium tonight. And the leaderboard will come up for you, and it shows you that Paul Stark is the champion. Vinnie Ford runner up Daryl Richings in a bronze medal position just ahead of Cooper Russian in fourth place. Then we go down to Ben Moley on 10, Mickey Simpson on eight, Max James on eight, and Ben Trigger on seven. And I think the other riders are still with one rider to come, one ride to come to finish off for their qualifications. But we uh have the podium in place and we’ll congratulate all those boys a little bit later on. sponsored by on we go. Heat number 20. And this time round we’ve got Jacob Clouting riding in red. In blue gate number two for Eli Meadows. Well, we would have if Jacob hadn’t have hit a bit of a problem on the back straight. So, let’s hope that that’s not a terminal mechanical failure. And seems to be going again. Just see there looking across the center green that Jacob is actually underway which is good news. And we can see him again there on the graphic in gate number one. He’ll be taking up that inside starting position red helmet color. Next door on gate number two in blue is Eli Meadows. On gate number three in white is Aaron Butcher. And gate number four in yellow is Sunny Springer. So, uh, a race here with the riders at the lower end of the scoreboard for this evening. All looking to do their best and round off their evening in winning style. [Music] [Music] and Jacob Clouting just digging for the sweet spot there on the inside starting position. The other riders moving up into place. Starting Marshall’s happy. Away he goes. The green lights on. Tapes up and away they go to the first corner. And it looks like a good start from the rider in white, Aaron Butcher, pushing around the outside there. So Aaron’s having one of those nights, isn’t he? It’s a three or a zero. So out front, Aaron Butcher, Jacob Pouting in red in second place. Eli Meadows is in blue in third, and Sunny Springer looks like he’s punctured at the back of the field, and he’s now on the infield. So Aaron Butcher, a race winner earlier in the evening. He’s on his way, but Jacob Clouting hasn’t thrown the towel in yet. And Clouting is trying to find a way of catching up to Butcher who leading out steady around the car park bends. One lap to go. Aaron Butcher leads Jacob Clouting leads Eli Meadows as they come around Pits Bend. Checker flag is being readied for the rider in white and it brings it home. So it’s white, red, blue, Butcher, Clouting, and Meadows to round off the evening’s racing. Aaron Butcher. Here we are. Official result then is a win for Aaron Butcher in white. Took his total for the evening up to six points. Second place, Jacob Clouting. He goes to five for the evening. It was one for Eli Meadows, a total of four. and Sunny Springer. He retired from that race and a total of three on the evening for him. So there goes uh Aaron over the line. Mixed night for him. Wins and last places looking for some consistency. Here’s your final leaderboard on the meeting with Paul Stark the overall champion. Second place went to Vinnie Ford on 14 points. Third to Daryl Richings on 13. Cooper Russian finished on 12 points for fourth place. Fifth was Ben Moley on 10. Sixth equal Mickey Simpson and Max James on eight points. Then we come to Ben Trigger on seven. We have Aaron Butcher on six. Jacob Clouting and Ashton Vale finishing equal 10th on five points. Jamie Eington and Eli Meadows equal 12th on four points with Charlie Southwick. Sunny Springer 15th on three points and Nathan Hargrave the bottom of man bottom of the heat man but not for the W trying 16th place just one on the scoreboard. So do bear with us still. We will hand over to stadium announcer Nigel Lee for the presentation ceremony from from Neil Batcher. Give it up please for the man who finished third with 13 points. Daryl [Music] Richie onto the step he goes with a uh a little presentation here. Lovely job. In second place then scored 14 points. He was just a popularity here last year. He’s still got that popularity and that great big smile. It is Vinnie for presenting to Vinnie Ford on behalf of Fabrication Keith Richie. And making the presentation to the winner on behalf of tonight’s meeting sponsors, Wessex Marine, it’s David Adams. And stepping up onto the stop top step tonight, an even bigger smile. Congratulations to the inaugural Harvard Masters champion, Paul [Applause] Star. We’ll try and grab a word with each of these guys. Step around the back. Not to be in the way of the photographs. Good result. Um yeah, good to get on a bike, get some time on the bike, like I said, and come away with a result. Amazing to see the young talent around today as well, you know, some fantastic young riders coming through. Um yeah, and just good to be a part of it. So, yeah, come out on top. Awesome. And speaking of that young talent, were there any that you were starting to get a little bit worried about during the meeting? I Cooper Rushman really impressed me today. Um, very impressed with him. Actually, one of my heats I could hear something. I thought, who’s that? You know, I quickly I thought he’s not hanging about. So, yeah, I was impressed with that. Um, but yeah, it’s good good to be a part of it and just good to see what’s what the future is. Amazing. And of course, looking at the track, we were looking at a few different changes throughout the meeting. Did it end up being a track that you were enjoying to race on? You know, it’s it’s easy to get round when it’s like this. Um it’s prepared, you know, with more material on perhaps for for league meetings, but you know, it’s still a racable track. Paul is a raceable circuit and you get some good racing. So, yeah, I enjoyed it. Um tried a few things, few things worked for me. So, yeah, overall I’m happy and just Yeah, good good to be going home with a win. Amazing. And with that win, does that just help your confidence going into next week with the Pirates? Yeah, we’ve got a bus busy weekend ahead. Um, pick some engines at the weekend as well and hopefully they’ll they’ll do the trick for us away. We’ve got Glasgow on Friday and working since Saturday. So, a busy weekend ahead and this is perfect really just to sort of get back into it. I’m not doing enough meetings. Um, and this is, you know, hopefully helping me in the in the right direction. Amazing. So, keeping up with the winning ways this weekend and of course we’ll see you back here next week. Once again, congratulations. Thank you very much. Cheers, guys. Thank you. There we are then. That’s uh words from Paul Stark, the winner of our meeting here this evening. Uh good confidence booster for him. And that I think just about concludes our Pirates TV coverage of the meeting here at Wimbornne Road. Hope you’ve enjoyed what you’ve seen so far and uh that you’ve spotted the talent for the future of British Speedway having a buzz around Wimbornne Road. So, from myself, Rob Dyer, and all the crew here at Pirates TV, we uh thank you for being with us, and we close out by wishing you a very safe and happy evening. And we’ll see you next time on Pirates TV. He went inside, outside. He looked for the gap and he burst through it. I think he’s done it. What a finish. Unbelievable.
