DJI Neo 2 Bike Tracking Test – It Kept Up With Me The Entire Time!

Today I took the DJI Neo 2 down to the beach promenade to see how well the tracking feature handles real cycling. I rode up and down the whole stretch, changing speed, direction, and distance — and honestly the Neo 2 surprised me. It kept up perfectly the entire time with no hiccups, no drifting, and no tracking drops at all.

Going to hit start. Cycle. Follow. Start. Okay, that should be following now. You can see it behind me. All right, here we go. I don’t know how low it is. I probably should have checked that. And we’re off. Yeah, swallowing. So, uh, [Music] should probably see. Yeah. So, we’re going to pick up some speed now. Yeah. Pick up some speed. And it’s keeping up. You can hear it quite nicely, so you don’t have to worry too much. It is kind of flying at head height, so I need to be careful I’m not in the way of any pedestrians. This is insane. I don’t know if you can see it on camera, but if I move to the side, it actually does follow again. So, uh, let’s pick up some speed here. Let’s go for it. Okay, we are coming up to quite a lot of people here, so I might have to shout to them and tell them there’s a drone. Let them know there is a drone following my position. Just to be careful. Might have to shout. They are moving over. Actually, I should be fine. Still following. Okay, once we pass these people with the dogs, we’re going to go full speed. 3 2 1 full speed. [Music] Should be speeding up now. It’s struggling a little bit to keep up with me, but it’s doing okay. It’s gone off track a little bit. Going to stop. [Music] Yeah, it’s hovering in front of me now. My hand out. [Music] And there we go. How insane is that? So, the reason I came from that way up here is cuz the wind was blowing. So, now we’re going to do a test and we’re going to see how the drone reacts. Cycling back the other way. And let’s send it. So, it’s struggling a little bit more against the wind now, but it’s definitely still keeping up. It’s clear. So, we’re going to go back onto the prominard and just follow me with our full send against the wind. [Music] It’s keeping up. I’m lying going full speed [Music] against the wind as well. You can hear a faint buzzing. And it is a little bit deceiving because you don’t know if it’s trying to come round on you or not. There is big amounts of wind coming towards me as you can probably see on my hair and it’s keeping up really nicely. I’ve had to slow down a little bit cuz it’s hard to pedal against this wind. But overall, it’s doing fantastic. And it’s maintaining a nice distance. And I better just check the battery percentage just in case. So, I’m 59% and I can actually watch it on the app. They’re cycling behind me, flying behind me nicely. And if I go, that’s going to screen record so I can show you guys too. So, you actually see there on the app that is following nicely behind me. And uh if I move over to the right, then it kind of adjusts its position. So, I don’t have to worry too much. But again, it seems you can hear the motor struggling a lot more from the wind. The battery is probably going to be draining out a lot lot quicker than if you were just flying against the wind or flying in no wind. So, we are coming up now to a bit of an al cove, but seems that it’s still seems that it’s still really windy. Wow, big breeze there still still following nicely. Yeah, I got to say DJ, you are really pulling out the bag recently. We’ve got the Action Six on the way as well. We’ve just received the Neo2. I think it’s absolutely fantastic. And it followed me around nicely. And then we’re going to full speed it back. Full speed. I’m going to try and lose it. It’s slacking. It’s slacking. The drone slacking. I was going to hit a post then. Didn’t. It kept up. It’s going to flip through this narrow gap. Just don’t want to hit into them huts here. But now survived them. nicely. So, it’s got obstacle avoidance, which is really, really nice to have, especially when you’re a bit unsure about your uh you crashing into anything. What I’m going to do, actually shouldn’t go on sand, but I take the bike down here a sec and I’m going to cancel the track in. So, there’s a flight up and down the seafront with active cycle mode.
