Bought a 2021 stumpy comp alloy a month ago and been working on it since. FINALLY am all done with the upgrades/fixing/maintence I needed done. All I did with the shocks are set them to my weight, but I could use a volume spacer set for the rear shock as I’m a bigger guy (6’4” 250 with gear) . It’s a rhythm 34 and a float dps. Reading up a lot in here and r/mountainbiking, most people seem to only do the lower fork service and air can service, and don’t send them for service just do it themselves or replace. Out of curiosity I asked my local bike shop on what it would cost for a full service on both…$480, meanwhile on jenson I can get a fox 34 performance and float X for $500, no brainer to do and upgrade instead of servicing no? My other question is on servicing the air can and lower fork, are these two respective kits all I need if I decide to do it? Nothing wrong with my suspension it seems to work well-though I’ve never had an MTB with full suspension or even a front fork. Not sure if I’ll even bother to do the service on these, might just ride them til they’re dead (which I can’t imagine is far away) then upgrade to the performance 34 and float x. Photos attached, thanks in advance!
