[Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Good morning. We’re going biking today with what looks like several hundred other people. Absolute chaos. Absolute chaos. It’s a Santa Cruz. It’s a very, very, very fancy and very expensive bicycle. My first ever mountain bike race. I raced against a guy that um owns that company. His name is Cedric Garcia. Didn’t just race against him. There was many other people there. But it was my first ever race and he only beat me by like 20 minutes. Bit of an update. We’re about I don’t know 2 km in. We’re all absolutely covered in mud. What a day. You want to be [Music] Yeah. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] There’s no come in. I go go. [Laughter] See, you It wouldn’t be a it wouldn’t be a bike ride unless you stop off at the first of two rest stops that provide you with cured meats, cheese, and well, there’s no wine at this one, but there should be wine at the next one. There’s also a selection of cakes and pastries. So, I’m going to get hooked into that and then get back on the trails. [Music] So, one of the guys, Jean Barard, his uh his front cog sheared off the motor. So, if you don’t know what that is, I’ll show you there now. this thing here, this this front cog sheared here. So, it’s completely useless. But luckily, the uh the club that’s organizing this event is called Cruise Oxygen, and they have you get like a phone number at the start before you set off, and they’ll come and get you if you have like a huge mechanical issue, which he had. So, he’s gone back to the start. We might see him when we get there. I think this is about the halfway point. So, we’re all going to fill up on now. Looks like pastries and maybe a glass of wine. Worst. Ow. [Applause] Ouch. They’re back on the brake. Brian. Oh. Got back here on 1% battery that landed on fumes. So I did. But what a great great morning. 44k we did. And I feel every one of those kilometers now. I had one crash. Well, it was more of a city crash. I was trying to overtake someone. Bike went over on the side. I slid into a bit of a tree. No dramas. Banged me knee, but I had my knee pads on, so that’s okay. Right. I’m going to see if I can go get a cup of coffee in there. That one today, you could walk it, run it, or cycle it. And then when you’re cycling it, you could either go on an ebike like we all did or a normal bike like lots of other people did. But it was a great event. And it was €7 if you’re in a club and €9 if you’re not part of a club. So, if you do come over, you know, on holidays and you have mountain bikes with you, you can even rent mountain bikes. There’s loads of events like that you can go to. And it’s great because you get to see like a good area, a good a good part of the countryside. Like, I’ve been to Amaz, but I’ve I had no idea there was that many bike routes around the place. And what I do is I turn on like a map thing on my phone and it records the route. So when I get home, I’ve, you know, I have another route that I can put in my library of places to go biking. So it’s well worth your time to do. And it’s good crack cuz I get out with my mates and have a good time. Right now I’m going to go home, have a shower, and collapse on the couch. Found another bramble patch. And that’s no use cuz if they get established, they just spread all over the field. And then there’s just a whole issue I have to deal with after that. So, I’m thinking kill that one. Kill that one. Kill the one behind me. Should be good to go. Right. Stmer time. [Music] Oh, this place is turning into a little bit of a disaster zone. Yeah. Okay. Right. Section by section, Brian. Section by section. [Music] That’s a bit better. I can see the floor. Right. Quick workshop update. That thing I’m still waiting for a half shaft for it to go in there. Uh, it’s on back order, but the one I need is 600 millimeters long. And the one everyone seems to have in stock is like 559 millimeters. So, I have to hold off on that for a couple of more weeks. Hopefully, not too long. That thing’s absolutely disgusting. And it needs a good wash and a good clean. It’s just got like I don’t know, weeks of road dust on it and it’s hideous. And then Pascal and me have a bit of work to do this morning. One more is good. Can see the floor. This side of the workshop is pretty much organized. Need to get rid of most of the sort of bags of cement and things under there because I think they’re gone off by now. And that’s about it for the moment. Right. Tackle that side in a minute. H. We spit some of these. They’re fairly dry. They might be okay. I don’t know. Try some. Yes. [Music] This is all stuff from last year. Is it last year? Yeah, last year. But when it came, it came in 50s, which is about that long. And um that’s no good cuz they ended up spending ages chopping and cutting it all to fit in the stove. So, I kind of blitzed it this year and just cut what was left in half and that’ll fit in all the stoves. And the great thing is because it’s been here a year and and this sort of I don’t know shed is quite dry, all the wood’s bone dry now, so it burns really well. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Right. Car clean. Pascal cleaner. So, all set for tomorrow because tomorrow I’m going to kiss a puppy and help Adan. So, thank you very much for watching today’s vlog. I do hope you enjoyed it. Got to get my work stuff together now and get ready for the morning.

  1. I can’t get enough of your videos with the MTB content Brian. That dripping mud reminded me of my e-MTB ride on Sunday, and I was mainly riding gravel! After all the recent rain, I decided against riding our woodland trails. I was not in the mood for the slop.

  2. Your opening shots had me remembering my first and hopefully not last balloon ride, I replayed a few times just for the feel goods. Then as you got on the bike, I eyed the stationary bike gathering dust in the corner so joined you for a ride. Felt myself leaning into the bends, restarted your ride at one stage, even asked if you were alright when you crashed,😂. Thanks to you for getting my butt moving for twenty minutes, could you post more cycling videos please 🙏. I’ll bring the wine next time.

  3. AS ALWAYS AN EXHILIRATING VENTURE.. THE TRAILS ESPECIALLY ARE THE MOST WONDERFUL.. YOU'RE LIVING THE LIFE I ADORE .. TAKE GOOD CARE .. SOON SOON .. REST WELL G'NITE.. B .. XOXO 🩶🖤🤎💦

  4. Saw a car that looked like Pascal on my way in to work this morning. Caught myself looking to see if you were driving. Which is ridiculous, I work in Burbank California 🤪

  5. Geeze ,Mountain trail biking must be a guy thing. The idea of biking on a rainy, muddy trail in the cold,& getting splashed with mud is abhorrent this old lady.

  6. Hi Brian, which app do you use on your phone to record the MTB route you have taken. I have been looking for something like that for a while now. Any help would be greater appreciated.
    Thanks Peter

  7. So glad I didn’t take you up on the offer of a crossbar ride. I knew you weren’t to be trusted Speed. merchant!!. The others thought it was good craic but they are younger than me😳🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂😂😉🫶🫶👌👏👏👏
    !!!

  8. I need to say something, so please think before you reply.
Cycling is great fun, healthy exercise and sociable, but…Walking is too.
Tracks and footpaths through PUBLIC woodlands and rural areas are destroyed into dangerous, impassable quagmires for walkers with dogs and children by off-road cycling.
Designated cycling routes that are NOT public footpaths are best, which is what the routes used in this video look like.

  9. Your video shots are really improving in leaps and bounds Brian … I remember when you did your first blog … it was a whole new world ! Now you are mastering aerial drone shots like a pro, especially that aerial shot and then sweeping down into the forest and the track 👌👌👏👏
Also the one alongside Pascal, getting a brilliant road shot … excellent !! Have a good rest ready for the morrow😁puppy !!!

  10. Hats off to whoever is responsible for keeping those forest paths clear of fallen branches. Love to hear the birds sing but they excel at spreading brambles, so it’s a trade off.

  11. Bike ride looks fun!! Fall made me say ouch outloud while watching. I hurt my knee last year and still recuperating a year later so definitely looked like an ouchie! I wish I could get the ambition to organize. I've got so much to do and only really had some time off the last couple of weeks. I wanted down time but time to get going again! Thoroughly enjoy your videos!🤩 Careful with riding!

  12. What a cool event and gorgeous woods. Fabulous! Sorry you had a crash. I used to do ultra running where they had stops with snacks and hydration but wine and wonderful baked goods…not a thing. So France does these things with style. 👍

  13. There's something about "50 ish" ………
Brian do you want a chateau? NO
Brian do you dream of a project that will
    take 20 years to do?
    NO, NO, And NO!!!!!
Brian would you like a coffee and a good meal?
    Yes, Yes and yes!!!
    See 50 ish 😊
