The Route des vins d’Alsace is an incredible cycling route in the heart of French wine country. The route is very accessible, and can be done in stages; no need to gear up for a long bikepacking adventure, unless you want to of course. The entire route is very well marked with frequent signage, and it goes through a number of incredibly charming and beautiful French villages – so you’ll never have to go too long without a resupply!
This video doesn’t show the whole route – just some snippets from some sections. I had planned to do the entire route as a bikepacking journey, but due to some mechanical issues with my bike at the beginning of the trip, it wasn’t really possible. Instead, I did some bits and pieces and decdied to make the video to give just a little preview of how incresible cycling in this region can be!
