[Music] [Music] right in Newcastle Christie on the train you’ve got the ticket for the wrong day plug it today under Sun in the station now there should be arriving any minute [Music] maybe turns up stuff to set off without him it actually made it [Music] journey I’ve indicated oh one gesture around we are in the roman fort which is the official start point of route 72 here [Music] whoa no cyclin toyou just arrived just timing let’s get on it we somehow ended up on a boat this is my yacht that I use I only use it really for bike touring yeah it’s a fantastic way to do cycle toilet my legs aren’t tired now I’m not even moving really you’re out boats boats on – you know train or plane face the shoes very gently of all time [Music] hello all right by tour coast-to-coast let’s go this sculpture marks the start of agent war which goes all the way from the west coast to the east coast of England and it was used to keep out the scum which are the Scottish people I’m probably copper as my daddy’s sky comes from yard and air you sort of just gone along the river you know what I mean like sort of made me and woods okay yeah obviously I’ve known I’ve done it myself but from from sort of experienced people all right it sort of starts when physically see it can only mean that from the antidote from get a heaven heaven sorry it’s about twelve male fish obviously if you want to do there we go now go now yeah yeah this is the beginning of the wall Luke riding over the beginning of the wall [Music] the time bridge iconic symbol Newcastle [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] looking for a place to come and we’re just outside a new castle such a cool bridge just along what I think must be an old railway line we want to find a place to come really I’d love to camp on the river what it’s amazing so maybe if we can see a path down we can camp along the river somewhere there’s Luke over there I’ve had a great day’s ride the first day we found a lovely old spot to camp just hidden away from the river we really are getting the last of the gas in this stove about to run out Terry in a field no idea what is so tight the man from the field he says yes Marshall nice food probably ought to see we’re doing some evening washing up still dishwashing Chris has done the washing up all clean cleaned Walden juice Chris well if my girlfriend was here she’d do it but usually you say so would yeah we’re just gonna go back to that to our staff come which let’s see let’s do a test see how it’s stealthy is can you spot it I’ve no idea ouch any problem with walking in foot flops in the dark is you can’t see the nails I’ve been quite interested to see what my feet look like tomorrow morning on the first stop beautiful morning blue skies sunshine in desert there’s a river just behind the 10 which is where we are washing the dishes last night [Music] morning Chris thanks you’re washing the stream I don’t know yet so but it looks like a great day cycling 39 miles yesterday Chris [Music] [Applause] having a swim [Music] [Music] a rasp rebate [Music] some Roman remains [Music] [Music] [Music] Oh think we’re around the right here coming to the highest point yeah and Chris’s aim is to get here for snacks the c-word shake when was our last snack here that’s the general cycle door rule the snackage what that that yeah that means snack that means generally if you can do that I mean we have been going uphill we’re a little bit below we’re gonna be go be outside of the snack zone snack parameter which is a bit worrying I’ve got a nice downhill coming up and then we go into the highest point on 372 which is a Hadrian’s Wall and this is though speed you know as we’re going downhill to the nice lake behind us good camera work and Chris Chris Rock chris is not actually looking race girl in this moment and neither am i I’m just looking at the camera so this this could be a YouTube bloopers video hit the highest point [Music] he immediately this is the highest point on the 72 cycle route with the cement now and I’ll be honest it didn’t seem that big of a climb is that 48 miles from that place we came on the East Coast and we’ve gotten over 126 miles to go [Music] 25 [Applause] [Music] so you’re so focused on gang looks biked over 30 miles an hour which we did very one miles an hour with no pedaling either well done brief or three fall of 31 miles an hour nice from the highest point on the route 72 Hadrian’s Wall Roman Roman yeah well so we’re going so quickly forgot to turn off to see the for well the roman fort I’ll be honest it looks like it might have been rebuilt a little bit you see all the all the school kids just there on their school day out so you’re telling to be one we’re going back on ourselves exactly the poor boy we got the devil’s number on this distance Daniel thanks for Tamas where you were going posses getting going new cost and I was thinking were strange again the wrong way me too busy trying to get a top speed we took a wrong turning it’s a really busy we need to try got bikes down this twerk lovely country out [Applause] [Applause] we got Luke and quiche quiche goats cheese and red pepper feeding time the difference from that main road chris on quility the car so lorries the ambulances the Cochise and now back home route 72 I’ve seen it I’ve seen the side no cars farmer that farm is nice chap the guy fed the Sheep didn’t feed us big moment on the room 72 cycle tour we’ve now reached 72 miles time to find a campsite again a Kris yeah and now we got about an hour sunlight left [Music] Luke looking in the forest to see if there’s a potential place to camp what I don’t know what to do now because we’re here without one one four is then we can go right to here where the wall is and there’s this crags in stuff here [Music] [Music] where we arrived to Luke Hadrian’s Wall this is Stanley Hadrian’s war what great you is Chris on Hadrian’s Wall trying to find a place to come but it’s it’s a bit hard because as you can see that’s hadrian’s wall behind me so I spotted a base down here I think Chris have you had a look [Music] [Music] nice one welcome to another version of tent talk brought to you from Hadrian’s Wall with the rain pattering on the tent you can probably hear it let’s just go sign up for a minute so you can appreciate that rain it’s so nice when you’re in a tent and it’s raining outside and you can and you know you’re not you’re not wet great feeling now I’m joined by special guest today who loves Roman history and he is so excited to be camping next to Hadrian’s Wall let me introduce you to wild Chris hello you know I’m so excited to be sleeping right next to some Roman history it’s like it’s like right there and I’m actually really excited when it’s the morning because it’s a Saturday morning tomorrow I reckon that there’s gonna be a lot of early morning walkers I’m guessing because there’s like there’s like carpark area like just down the hill so they probably all come in their cars pletely have to get here again the cars and then walk up the hill early morning and up and we’re just in a very stealthy place green tent our bikes hidden just beyond the cliff I don’t think anyone’s gonna see it but we are reviewed so I’m very excited see if they can see us or not we’re on the we’re on the bad side Wow my the dark side of the wall this is where the enemy would have come from so tomorrow all the people will be on the good sites that they won’t dare come this side because we’ll see people on the dark side of an interesting fact a lot of people think that Hadrian’s Wall is the border between England and Scotland not true their border for Scotland’s actually a few miles north this is this is an irrelevant border now it’s just just history so technically even there were north of the wall was still in England yeah okay so that’s it that’s another episode of ten tones ten talks you Slobodan it’s wet outside that just sums up my motivation this morning this Christian I’m a nerd a little familiar I think the tent blends in pretty well it’s pretty stealthy and this is where we hid the bikes because we thought the bikes for a bit leanness this was vicious I did just what some workers who thought I was walking Hadrian’s Wall in my flip-flops they’re doing it for charity and they go doing the whole thing and as they just slip past the stump of the camp they’ll be stuck to you last night we know afraid not she’s not meant to the guy there just said yeah they don’t want people cycling Hadrian’s Wall we technically passed mics on the wall see we know we got away with it oh oh oh look look who’s emerge from the tent Chris the snorer [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so Luke yes what we found we found an oven boy we found an oven a roman oven or assuming it’s a Roman open yes it’s near a Roman water must be Roman with a toasty Baker that so how do we like it the Roman God said let there be fire on the chimney at the top we’ve got the fire going all potential toast potential toast or smoky mess let’s find that nice like it all like a pizza oven he the other toast is that’s hosting beautifully it just needs to be turned over I think I’m ready for the addition of the thick cut cheese here it is the Roman cheese on toast or look at it bubble bobbling away in the pan so excited so Chris the great reveal the Roman cheese on toast that it’s nice it’s on fire literally Oliver young Roman cheese on toast cheese Luke Cheers Wow Wow oh and I’m raised are genuinely amazed they got one of the big shoes yes they do pretend bull where you can test your strength really now your periods pan using the original cycle touring pack you know the soldiers had to carry their own equipment to the stability of the empire is safe for two more generations that the Romans called on the orders of emperor hadrian collide strong in the fall [Music] was to separate his empire from the barbarians beyond its borders as we fly east from Magna we climb up and down the nine necks of thermal and begin our journey along Hadrian’s Wall here along the peaks the war would have originally stood some six meters high one of long hands still campus in room four meters with a squeeze [Applause] [Applause] no it lands into my group six years ago and I stopped off at this cafe I liked it and I remembered it and so here I am back again Cheers a particular place today and we’re not sure where they we’re a little bit delayed how’d you know we’re probably meant to be about like 10 miles further across than we are yeah oh you’re going into walls yeah we’re meant to be a detours like Carlyle oh are you going that way you have anything will hit Carlisle today yeah we might but that really is my clean house Adrian’s war hahahaha Luger jump Asians walls [Music] there’s hardly a farmhouse around here that hasn’t got some pot you know oh yeah got some of the wall in and this is the 85 or 95 90 percent okay just recycle I’ve just brought it down the hill because the top of the hill Lou is that but this is mainly 95 percent Hagen’s Hall 90 percent 9 percent so so they had took somewhere where everybody was going hopefully and survived while the raiding party went through listen Robert the Bruce went through hearing and burn to the whole place twice and there’s some evidence of charred beams in in the roof of particulate and they think that was where Robert the Bruce burned it [Music] we’re asking loop camping camping news forests one of these forests here maybe this one is that comes out tonight we’re gonna camp in the woods with the river which is Chris is located I’ve not seen it yet so you’re gonna you’re gonna be as surprised as I am by this it’s a good spot [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] that is how you stealth captain so I just been working on the jingle potential which is now well that’s the jingle but we’ve had a good day stay look we woke up next to Hadrian’s Wall we caught doing a play of them yeah what’d you see the cheese lady the sound Hadrian’s Wall eating a feast when we rode down to what’s Garrity we went to amazing church actually the church was one of my favorite parts we’ve only gone three not a great little tour it’s perfect for a few days yeah to Chrissy’s favorite quote the tour is fortune favors the brave but everyone thinks you’ve got have a bed you’ve got have four walls you’ve got a Palos and – thing and B&B maybe don’t you do not look Luke and I camping in a forest it’s free alright we bought a tent beforehand before since then it’s free you free the rule is with wild camping as well there’s two main rules don’t be like too loud and brash you know like one way of helping that is have a green tent it kind of blends in the second one is always leave it the same if not tidier but then you found it so see in the morning [Music] this is where we come lost no hid in the forest is freeze it pinched down yeah yeah [Applause] okay [Music] we have found don’t hit the camera we try to return it they’re cool [Music] [Music] we’re in Carlisle with the home of the 549 sons erosions with my cat Chris excited 5.9 Sunday roast that was great for me being a veggie [Applause] heading towards the coast now can smell it I’ve heard a seagull the classic soundtrack of the sea [Music] fishermen about [Music] bonus on Solway where Hadrian commanded the wall to be built – is this the end of the war yeah yeah okay for nuke us [Music] [Applause] weeks to celebrate the end yeah yes where have you been so we finished the wall now and we didn’t know what we’re going now we just think well the 72 goes this way well I’ll just keep on riding but we’ve had a good trip three nights to do the wall and said don’t count down here because it flights uh-oh cows in the road whoa [Music] [Music] just community because the Cork’s vegetarians you go veg Ricky this Mayo was sponsored by bird Oswald great little cafe along the Hadrian’s Wall morning Luke not the seaside we thought we were hoping for this isn’t the coastal company one before some was a little bit scared I do have a new bike stand to convince is what you would call a stick [Music] beautiful British sunshine to the beach okay yeah your nose we are wearing like jet long sleeves hats it’s sunny but it’s chilly [Music] [Music] [Music] it’s personal if we go here we have a socially given to me by my parents for my birthday whoo yeah yeah it’s a new bell yeah it’s a really good Bell same though you’ve got Luke actually yeah I was willing to put this on on the first day but too honest I forgot about it and nope the Bell is completed now for the completion test [Music] [Music] [Music] we got heavy tuna mayonnaise tomorrow’s bird Oswald cheese and mayonnaise Chris where are we now we’re just leaving a little town aren’t we whoa just had just a late lunch at father company evening yes and once again were on the hunt for a fish and chips well this could be our last chance to get a fish and chip we haven’t wanted fish and chip this whole trip I know and we’re seeds have gone past more fish and chip shops and any other type of shop but every time we see if it’s a chip shop just yeah I think we’re going through a golf course now it the sign said come this way we have no idea we’re just confidence is what gets you through on a bike tour sometimes cycle the confidence y’all all right now we know it’s the right way yeah it confirmed I think about what you 72 Chris is it just keeps getting better Wow this is a coastal psychopath Oh third – looks like you’re having a wash all right hey the advantages of being bad for I can go give them a wash so we’re cycling on and we’re going to try and find somewhere else now the pressures on Chris because now he has to deliver as good a campsites as I’ve seen it’s always my fault well in this case you every case let’s go here’s our food are now on the other side of the rail that trains right there is our nemesis well we’re gonna get there well that way we came you’re gonna know that bridge really you can see the corner there the cliff like it really get apart there somewhere [Music] potential camps for I feel like we could even get around the corner try what we could have a loft we can always get back in time there’s a great place over there but kind of inaccessible snap stealth dead milk it was so fun distemper so fun because we’re right next the town of a fried things for public football and right next to a train line it was like someone started coming along movie stars we thought beyond the bush it’s like one trenches like crazy why are we all right now there is like people all embarrassed but we sets a train line there couldn’t be more public services where we are if they tried in this part of the country boy that if it takes finding must be very warm must be very sunny now way to forgive it the same and Luke said this our last night tonight and he said he wants to it is one touch toe tap that’s you’re determined to fulfill that dream if we T pretty try a page but it with other see look at the seahorse to see why have liked roundest in the night somebody diner factors it’s 5050 so we decided on good morning Oh mrs. hon oh oh I think he’s leased the beach just gonna check it out it’s a train line let’s go back and set its head down until a field nuclear plant yeah and text you download to the VG’s off towards the beach and then you follow the cycle bit lock the C scale this is Chris telephone box because there’s nuclear power what’s that Luke [Music] we’re now looking after the dogs that are guarding our bodies home she mommy’s home sometimes you can see the Isle of Man from him just because the house called Manx you and a Manx if you’re Manx you live on the Isle of Man you live in Manchester you make banks with an ecstasy [Music] [Music] do Chris final push to Ravens class Roman Baths I’m so upset looking a little bit emotional right now it’s all gonna be over in two miles anymore the next one please over ice like mr. no adventure again if you watch this to the end I hope you’ve enjoyed watching it just as much as Lupin myself Chris I’ve enjoyed putting it together [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] [Music] we did it we did it finished it boots only to complete my bike goodbye biking do your own adventure right yeah well time to go [Music] [Music] [Music]
