If you are looking for the right supplements to take when it comes to building muscle and supporting your efforts in the gym, there is one, outside of protein, that you should be taking…

And that is… creatine.

Now, creatine comes in many different molecular forms, but in terms of their efficacy on your training, are unaffected by the type. The two most popular forms of creatine are creatine monohydrate and creatine hydrochloride, otherwise known as creatine HCL.

There is a small percentage of people out there (roughly 10-15% of all users) that will experience gut discomfort from taking creatine monohydrate. For those that do experience stomach issues from monohydrate will find that they do not have the same discomforts when taking the buffered form of creatine, creatine HCL.

Neither form of creatine is more effective than the other and both share the same safety profile, the only discerning factors being taste and effective dosing.

Creatine monohydrate and creatine HCL differ in their taste profile in the sense that monohydrate is tasteless and can be mixed into anything without affecting any flavors. However, creatine HCL is extremely sour, doesn’t taste good and requires it to be mixed with something citrusy or sour itself in order to mask its own sour flavor.

The effective dose of creatine monohydrate in the human body is 5 grams per day. However, creatine HCL’s effective daily dose is only 2-3 grams due to an increased efficiency of the human body to process it.

So, while it doesn’t matter what form of creatine you prefer, it does matter than you are supplementing it into your diet to support your efforts in the gym because it is more than likely that you are not getting adequate amounts of creatine through your diet alone.

hydroch chloride I find is the most universal in that the 10 to 15% of people that have gut issues from monohydrate won’t have those issues generally when they take the hydrochloride version of it’s just based on absorbability and the byproducts of the breakdown of monohydrate versus hydrochloride that tends to cause some gut distension and bloat if that’s you you’re not going to have those issues likely with hydrochloride the downside to hydrochloride is that it’s so sour if you were to take it like you would M Hydro you throw M hydrate to anything you can throw into a shake right you can throw into water anything it’s it doesn’t have a taste but if you put hydrochloride in it it’s going to taste horrible y so usually it gets masked in other citrusy type things so in our case we have our pre-workout we have creatine hydrochloride and that you don’t really taste it because it’s already got that really citrusy taste yeah the upside of hydrochloride is that you could also take a lower dose to reach the same benefits so 5 G per monohydrate about 2 to three gram would do the same thing with hydroch chloride I will say this though

  1. Hell yes it is going to last! All the game is missing is more coordination during missions to really make things amazing.

It's awesome to fly around in an attack heli on an organized server and have squads requesting CAS with smoke!

  2. I try all these supplements when first starting out , and the creatine was ok, but i decided not to waste money on it anymore. I went to homemade shakes oats, bananas eggs, meat, and am now buff from being very slim just hit them weights eat healthy stay hydrated 💪

  3. I’ve been a subscriber for a while now. Totally think you guys are amazing. J I just wanted to say that your mass and muscle transformation from when I started watching until now is incredible! 💪

  4. When I say this, it might not mean anything to anyone, but hydrochloride did nothing for me physically, and monohydrate did. Also, from what I research, monohydrate is the most studied form of creatine of them all, so it's the best option for new users unless it causes you issues.

  5. Hey Jeff. Would you be able to do a review about (Creatine with HMB). There is a lot of hype around this and not a lot of videos. Thank you for all that you do!

  6. One mono, my stomach was a mess. Haven't had one issue after the switch to HCl. It's a bit more expensive but worth it to not have constant gas + bloating.

  7. I personally have had a better experience with HCL, and so has my dad. Just do what works best for your individual self. PINEAPPLE JUICE is my mixing secret, i’ve found it taste best with pineapple juice.

  8. This was my first month taking MuscleBlaze Creatine Monohydrate. Yes, it definitely gives you the power to push through extra reps and feel stronger during workouts.

But I also started facing some worrying side effects — constant heart palpitations, feeling unusually hot throughout the day, tightness on the left side of my chest, and a sense of agitation or being hyper that just wouldn’t go away.

I know creatine is supposed to be safe and many people use it without issues, but in my case these symptoms only stopped once I quit taking it. Maybe it won’t happen to everyone, but I just want to share my honest experience so others know to listen to their body and not ignore unusual symptoms.

  9. Hcl by far is the best and I’m mad j didn’t start it decades ago. Night and day difference in effects and gut side effects. You can literally see it dissolve in water in seconds which seems to confirm the better absorption point. But man does it taste like puke… it literally has the taste of after you get sick when hungover and sometimes even triggers bad memories from the college days. Definitely try to mix it with something.

  10. Hey brother I just need you quick opinion on a good brand of creatine to buy. And what do you think about isopure? I was thinking about getting that. Or maybe you sell it. Please respond. Thanks

  11. good thing i don't feel any side effect with monohydrate. i use the unflavored one because i want the option to be able to mix it with any liquid. that being said, i gotta say it's not 100% correct that it has no taste. it has a faint bitterness to it, noticeable only if you mix it with just water or light-tasting liquid.

  12. How about creatine monohydrate (micronized) will it also make some people bloat? I am currently taking creatine monohydrate (regular) for about 3 months now so far no issue. But I'm thingking to try HCI or micronized version.
