I’m spending a couple of days in Bournemouth, so I decided to create a few new cycling routes while I’m here! 🚴‍♂️🌊

The first one is a short 60km ride through the New Forest, and honestly… this is one of the best places I’ve ever cycled. From smooth roads to wild New Forest ponies, stunning scenery, and quiet lanes, this route has everything you’d want in a perfect ride.

If you’re looking for cycling routes near Bournemouth, or you’ve been curious about what it’s like to cycle through the New Forest, this video will give you a taste of just how beautiful and peaceful it can be. This is definitely going to be one of my go-to routes whenever I’m down here!

[Music] Good morning, guys. So, as you can see, my background is a bit different today because I am not in London. I am actually in Bournemouth with Daphne and her family. So, since I’m here, I did bring my bike and I sort of made a 70 km route this here that goes around the new forest. It starts at Christ Church Station. So, just in case that you guys want to do this route, uh, just give me a comment and then I’ll give you the link to the route. Um, but yeah, so this is going to be fun. Um, it’s going to be sort of new territory. I’ve cycled here once before during the Garmin ride out, but not this particular route. This is basically a new route that I just made starting from Christ Church Station. And basically, this will also be Deafy’s longest ride in a while because she has not been on the bike because sort of work kind of got in the way and things like that. So, it’s just shy of 70 km and it should be a good ride. So, enjoy. Peace. All right, guys. Dafany is back in the vlog. So, yeah, we’re starting this route now. Uh, it’s a 68 km route. Uh, we’re going to go through the new forest, so it should be good. It’s a bit wet, though. Uh, but it should dry up soon. It’s not supposed to rain today, so should be a good weather. [Music] Also, if you don’t follow us on Instagram, there’s a little thing that Daffany got. She got a new bike. So, yeah, she’s a lot faster on this bike. First long ride on the new bike. Here is the new bike. She got to live live a veil. [Music] So, we’re just on the cycle lane on the dual carriageway. But yeah, you know how they say like it’s not the rider, it’s the bike. It’s somewhat true cuz Dan’s a lot faster on this bike. and she’s like she can basically push more with less energy. It’s quite nice. So, we’re about just under 6k in and I think we’re basically into the quiet roads now, which is great cuz it was so close to the starting point. Um, obviously if I’m going to share this route, I’m going to change the starting point to the station. So, you guys can try this out. It might it won’t be 5.8k from the station, I think. I’m not too sure. might be a bit longer, but yeah, empty roads now. [Music] Honestly, we’ve just started and I think I’m enjoying cycling here a lot more than London cuz the drivers are a lot nicer. So, Deaf is doing her first climb on the bike. How you feeling it compared to the old bike? Huh? The same. It’s the same. A climb is a climb. [Music] Look at that. Wild horses. Yeah. So, we’re about 13k and I think we’ve basically entered the new forest now, I think. Um, I think so. Anyway, and yeah, seeing a lot of wild horses now. So nice. And uh the roads are Oh, yeah. And uh the the roads are so nice. Oh, they’re not. Oh, definitely just corrected me. They’re not wild horses. Some more horses in front of me just minding their own business. Pretty cool. Hi, horses. [Music] Look at the horses on the left. That’s so cool. If you really want to ride with me, ride with me. Do it all night with me. I know you’re dreaming about it. [Music] time. Oh, keep on falling for me. [Music] But sun is so I’ve been waiting all night for this when you’re close to me. I am so filthy right now. I got to wash the bikes again when I get back. And the thing is that day you washing the bikes. Oh yeah, take your time with me. Don’t you worry. Won’t you set every side to see what you’re doing? I can feel it. [Music] The new forest is so nice. [Music] All right. So, I think that is it for the first bit of New Forest. And I think now we’re on the way to the coffee shop, the wood sicklery, or however you say it. I’m so butchering that name. I know. So apparently now we’re in Boulderwood, which I kind of remember because we went through here last time when we did the Gin the Gin ride. So this is where there was that hill and we were like, “Go on, Dany.” But yeah, now we’re in Boulderwood. [Music] So, the last time we did this climb, it was during G ride out, but Daffany seems to have forgotten it. Hopefully, when we get to the hard bit, she’ll remembers. [Music] Remember remembering the climb yet? No. Okay. She’s going to remember soon. That’s the climb done. I forgot how steep that climb was. I think it peaked at like 15. That was quite hard, especially since I haven’t done any climbing in a while. Honestly, the views here are amazing. If you haven’t cycled through the New Forest or this area, you need to. [Music] I am thoroughly enjoying this route. Like, I don’t know what to say. I’m just so speechless cuz it’s so nice. Maybe that is my way. Okay. [Music] [Music] We be back. [Applause] that I don’t worry I’ll be by your [Music] breathing. How’s your ride through the new forest? It’s great. New bike. It’s great. Pasta. I think the word is it’s more responsive. It would be. That’s That’s how I feel. What’ you get? Go cheese. And hot honey. Hot honey. Honey and walnut. Oh, nice. So, yeah, this cafe has a really nice uh they got some really good food here. So, if you’re around the area, this is this is a good spot to go to. [Music] Want to go home? Yes. So, that D’s look laughing at my bike cuz it’s filthy. Okay, let me just show you. The is blow hole is working really well. And then if you just look at his backo [Music] baby Picasso Oh, careful. So, yeah, we’re on the way back now. That cafe was really nice. I wanted to take shots inside, but there was a lot of people and I didn’t want to record it just in case they didn’t want to be in the shot. Um but yeah, heading back now. The sun’s gone out. Come out. Uh the roads are dry now. Uh it should be a good way back. I think we go through the New Forest again. I don’t know. We’ll see. So I don’t I’m not sure if we’re in the New Forest just yet, but the views still Oh, okay. So yeah, definitely just told me we are still in the New Forest. So yeah, we made it in now. So nice. I think we’ve always seen the new forest today. I think I don’t know. forest is really big. Yeah. So, according to Dafany, she actually said we’re still technically inside of New in New Forest cuz it’s really big. So, this is such a nice place to cycle around. So, if you’re born with, definitely check it out. They do have a nice uh road surface for road bikes. It’s not just for gravel. [Music] [Music] So nice. [Music] That is mad. [Music] That was kind of scary, guys. [Music] So, this route doesn’t it’s not meant to have a lot of crimes, but there’s a few that you kind of do, and they’re quite steep, like this one that’s approaching now. But the views are so nice. Yeah, there’s a deer. Look. Oh yeah, we’re seeing loads of animals today. So horses, deers, cows. It’s quite wild. [Music] We’re nearly back home now and honestly I’m enjoying cycling around here. The drivers are just so much more nicer. Like if they’re behind you, they stay way back and they only overtake when it’s really really clear and they give you enough distance. So nice. Oh, where you going? This is not food. [Music] All right, guys. So, that is it for Bournemouth. Um, Daffy’s making us dinner. What are we making? Jack and potato and salad. Jack and potatoes and salads. That’s our dinners cuz we’re carbing up again for tomorrow because we are going to do a quick ride again around Bournemouth. Uh, it is actually really nice around here. The new forest was great. Um, it was a bit wet in the morning and I had to really wash my bike uh when we got back, but it was not it was basically quite nice. Um, the coffee shop as well was really good. So, that’s going to be a usual spot I go to when I’m here. It’s called the Woods Cycler. I keep butchering that name. The Woodsy something I don’t know. I can’t pronounce that name for some reason. Cyclleri or something like that. I keep butchering it. But yeah, guys, that is it for today for the new forest route. And I’ll see you in the next one. Peace.

  1. New Forest was designated Nova Foresta in 1079 by William the Conqueror, never been there but it looks great, some very old places with a lot of history, good to see Daphne back again, like the Liv, still dreaming about my first carbon bike, will have to make use of the cycle to work scheme, cause i'm gonna need a 5K pinerello with carbon wheels, purely for commuting
