Earlier this year, I built up a (mostly) free Bianchi for my younger brother. It was stolen from his building after just a few months!

Enter this 1989 Univega Nuovo Sport, in what I call “It’s not a phase” metallic red splatter with clearance for 35mm tires. For under $200 out of pocket, the bike is running a 10s Ultegra mech with a bar end shifters. The older brother part of me ensured that there was a tucked away tail light and hand painted bell for safety’s sake.

IMO the coolest part of the bike is the crankset, vintage 165mm Sugino cranks with a homemade chain guard and a dremel-engraved 42t chainring in front of a 28t oval.
