things every cyclist should know but nobody tells you part one removing your rear wheel can be a right pain in the but there’s actually an easy way to do it and it took me way too long to learn it the first thing to do is to make sure that your front chain ring has been changed down to that small ring the one on the inside next you’re going to make sure that you’ve changed your gears all the way down to the smallest Cog and with both of these things done the chain should be nice and slack and this is what we need next remove your through axle or your quick release but just be careful here recently I shredded a through axle by using a cheap multi-tool once you’ve got the through axle or the quick release a you’re going to want to move the rear Mech all the way back this shouldn’t require a lot of force once you’ve got it as far back as it will go the wheel should just drop out nice and easily just make sure the chain doesn’t get tangled and then to put it back on again it’s just the same in Reverse there’s probably other ways of doing this so let me know if you’ve got a different way but I hope you find this useful and I will catch you in the next episode make sure you’re following

  1. Yep. That's how you do it. And you keep your chain nice and clean so you don't have to get grease all over your hand.
Keep it on the lowest cog and put it back on the lowest cog and it goes right in.

  2. Sorry, but what you need to remove the rear wheel for?🤔 In like 4 years of owning my bike I've never touched the rear wheel. Even the tire isn't bald yet

  3. Are closed axle holes on the frame common now? I’ve never seen that except on BMX bikes. Every bike I’ve ever had either had horizontal or vertical dropouts, so you don’t need to remove the axle (whether bolt-on or quick-release), just loosen it. Or, if there are lawyer lips on the dropout, loosen it a whole bunch.

  4. They need to add chain hangers back on the right seat stay like they used to. You put the chain on the hanger to get it out of the way and just drop the wheel and I think it would work just as well with the through axle system. Taking the back wheel off was just as easy as taking the front wheel off or nearly as.
