I am wheels on the ground in Italy and the plan for day one was to bike to the train station to plan out a big little trip with the bike.
But when I got to the train station to start planning I found out I can’t bring the bike on the high speed train if its not in a bike bag, the only bike bag I had is the one I fly the bike in so this plan got shot down fast.
I did not bike on that road way again

We are in Rome. I don’t have my helmet. We are going back for my helmet. This is a nice campground. Yeah, I’m staying at a campground. All right, let’s do this again. Wheels in the ground in Rome. This is my campground. Now I have my rain basket. And I might have a slow leak in my back tire. We’ll figure that out on the road. If it don’t have to change it, I’m not changing it. Chad, the campground is huge. It’s this green fence beside me here. has a swimming pool, two swimming pools, two hot tubs, small hot tubs, but still two hot tubs, a bucket that fills up with water, and then when it does, it splashes down on kids and it’s like four or five restaurants and a market, but the market was closed yesterday. Some of the restaurants, one of the restaurants was closed. like one of the little side trucks. Whoa. Uh, this used to all be lined with trees, but then they had to cut them down because he died. The bike might have a slow leak in the rear tire. I’ll worry about that on the road. Did I say that already? I had 13 and 12 hours of sleep because I was up for a day and a half. spent $110 on food because airport food’s ridiculous. A $30 sub at Subway, but I’m in Rome. Who cares? We’re on our way to the train station because Italy is good with bikes on trains, but I got to plan out some day trips. So, I got to see how leisurely it’s going to take me to leisurely bike to the train station. But it’s already 10:00. I slept in, but I’m up at this time anyways cuz it’s I get up at 2:30. [Music] This is not a very wide road. Oh, I was about to say it’s not a very fast road, but Oh, look. 70 km. That’s not a road I like to bike on, but whatever. Garmin. Garmin told me to take it. But it is really nice. So, what happened? Where did I go? I had a hernia after I came back from Edmonton. So, I thought it was best not to travel when you know you’re going to take a couple weeks off. Had an insanely reduced pay. So, I disappeared. I vanished. All right. My first turn. Roma. Oh, okay. The first place I almost got hit by a car. Turning off the place where I thought I was going to get hit by a car. [Music] Ah, my first hill climb in Italy. It’s not the Stavio, but it’ll do. Well, now I’m on this really nice cycling path, but of course people are walking in the cycling lane, but whatever. Who cares? I’m on it. Oh, my back tire is starting to go down a little. I’m 19 km into a 16 km bike ride. Fancy that. Is this a ram? It is a ram. It’s a cobblestone ram. And I Nope. Nope. Nope. Nope. Ah [ __ ] I messed that up. Well, let’s put it into the right gear. There we go. That’s not going to help. Okay, now I’m in the right gear, and this is going a lot better than what it did in the wrong gear. So, my Garmin wants me on the busy side. Like, look how busy that is. I don’t even know what that is. Whatever it is, there’s a long line up to get in. I think I have stumbled across the coliseum. All right, my garments take me. I like it. Oh, so now I got a bike in front of the coliseum. This is cool. Oh, I better stop for security. So, I’m at I’m at the train station. The bike is auto shifting like crazy. My friend end is really heavy. Coliseum’s cool. So, I might have to find It’s only auto shifting in the lower units, not the bigger units. Here’s the train station. I think this took me two hours to get to.
