Tall Grass you know what that means we better do a tick check tonight ticks can carry and spread harmful diseases this is how we avoid and deal with tick bites we try to stay on trail and avoid walking through tall grass and vegetation there’s a bunch of ticks right here and when they touch something they stick to it for Extra Protection wear long sleeves and pants use bug spray and treat clothes with bug repellent ticks usually don’t spread disease to people until they’ve been attached for about 24 hours so we check our skin for ticks every night after we’ve been outside I’ve spent hundreds of nights on trail but I just recently got my first tick bite we didn’t have tweezers on hand so I carefully pulled it out with my fingers I was okay but it’s good to monitor your body for symptoms like this Bullseye rash which indicates Lyme disease if anything seems off get medical treatment as soon as possible

  1. I got my first tick bite about a month ago. I was working at this one house and I took a piss in the bushes and I’m pretty sure that’s when it attaches itself to my clothes. It was honestly a stroke of luck. I saw it because I took my shirt off and it was on my chest on a dark tattoo I have

  2. Lyme disease is no joke. There’s a music artist from the UK that got it from a tick. His name is Ren he does spoken poetry/rap and talks about his health struggles. Check him out.

  3. My cousin's and I got so many ticks all the time. My grandma would just make us a bath with bleach..my dad would set them on fire and flick them off

  4. Ticks transmit disease almost immediately, don't believe that 24 to 72 hour bullshit. The government wants as many chronically ill people as possible, that's why they allow tick borne illness to go unchecked but somehow had a Covid vaccine in 3 weeks. The government does however love the "long Covid" that was caused by the vaccine…

  5. doesn’t matter where I go whether it’s fishing, hiking, or mowing the lawn I’ve just accepted I’m a tick magnet regardless of prep 😂😂

  6. Dont just “check your skin” check your private areas as well. Ass hair, under or on your balls, penis, vaginal area etc. And if your with someone close don’t be afraid to ask for help giving these areas a look over.
Ive caught a few ticks on my balls/pubic hair and even my ass 😂.

  7. I've been bitten countless times by ticks.

I got Lyme disease once, but the crazy thing is I don't ever remember getting a tick on me. I had a rash on my stomach that just one day turned into a bullseye (after more than a week). I immediately went to the doctor. I was tested and given meds. After two months I was tested again and it was negative.

  8. I learned only recently you can (should) get antibiotica if the tick has been stuck for more than 24 hours. Unfortunately I have Lyme disease without any red mark or symptoms. Also I write down every tick in my agenda (,where it but me and if it was work or hobby). Because if you get seriously ill they might say you got the tick on your time off. Somehow it matters for finances at least in my country.

  9. Permethrin is a neurotoxin to cats. Do not bring your treated clothes inside your home. Personally I don't use it because I would rather have some risk to myself than accidentally cause my cats to die a horrible death from my own actions.

  10. This is good advice but please make sure to not squeeze the tick while taking it out because that makes it much more likely for them to empty their bowls content into you and spread diseases that way.

  11. i only got a tick once… and it decided to attach to my lower lash line. So, I got a tick in my eye. 😢 It was all fine, i got mom to get the tweezers and she pulled it out but it was a little traumatic to say the least

  12. Tick remover tools are super handy too. Cheap and get the job done! Helpful for pets too. Our dog is pretty squirrelly and the tool is quick and efficient for use with her.

  13. As far as I know and learned deer ticks are the number one cause for Lyme disease and are basically the only species that do carry it as far as other diseases I have no clue and what other ticks carry it

  14. I had a tick on me from a hike for a month or longer "I'm hairy". When I felt it in the shower I pulled it out. Couple months go by, my whole left thigh was numb for another two months and I felt the numbness and tingles spreading. Tested positive for Rocky mountain, took prescriptions for a while , I test negative now but have permanent nerve damage on my thigh now………..take them serious !
