  1. Ebikes that go 30-60mph+ and no real safety features yes agree 100% dangerous and get rid… my scooter that I got from Halfords for £249, is limited to 14mph, lights, disk brakes and several safety features I dont understand the problem with, no more dangerous than a peddle bike in my opinion as long as you use it considerably and follow the same rules you would as a cyclist.

  2. Why not sell them and get money to put back into hiring people to actually walk the streets rather than hassass people for online comments.

  3. These narrow minded politicians will keep the country broke. Instead of spending our tax money crushing the confiscated 'e' bikes, they should be sold by the container load in countries where they're legal and the profits reinvested in worthy UK causes.

  4. This isn’t fair, some people (like me) just use it to go to school, work etc, we should give e bike permits to certain people instead of destroying property which costs thousands, nice “democratic” country

  5. Governments: "we need to go green to save the environment!"

Also governments: "let’s make electric bikes and scooters that don’t cause harm to the environment illegal!"

It’s all about money. If you Can’t tax or pay anything towards it, they make it illegal.
