Bye-bye, Czech Republic. It’s been a pleasure. Hello, Germany. [Music] Woohoo! Nobody check. [Music] Time to move on from Poland to Germany, back to the Czech Republic. It’s been a nice hotel room, but now let’s get the hell out of here. Let’s go. And there she is, still in one piece. Okay, so the clock tower should just set it’s 9:00. Perfect. Let’s drop off the key card and then hit the road again. Back on the bike. So I think it’s a little bit more downhill to Musk and after that I don’t know it’s climbing and descending and climbing and descending again. I guess in total till the finish it was about 1,300 m of climbing in 130 km. So today I think I’ll do about 100. But uh let’s see how much of the climbing is today. [Applause] So, from what it looks like, we’re leaving the the real mountains like behind us and go more into indeed rolling hill country. It looks really uh friendly this countryside. Temperature at the moment, I think 18 19° with the sun out. The highest temperature today expected is uh 25°. So should be okay. That’s quite a nice city center of Mirk. So, some climbing uh has begun. It’s a good grade at the moment for uh warming up the legs. Not too steep. So, green, then one yellow section, then green again. Currently still in the green and already gasping. Come on. So, not sure if you can hear the wind in the trees, but the wind is uh pretty strong today. But uh yeah, I’m in luck. Yeah, the wind seems to come from the east, and in general, I’m going in a westerly direction today. So, mostly tailwind for me. Le man look Nikki. Hey, And this is the town of Lena. Lishna. Freshly painted. This climb number 12 out of 28. Yeah. So far, uh, the riding in, uh, in Poland this morning was is is really great. The service is really good of these roads and, uh, and also, yeah, it’s really quiet. Uh, not a lot of cars. One and a half hours into the ride now. Um, I’ve written, uh, 30 km with an average of 21, which for me uh, while cycle touring is, yeah, a little bit above average, I think. Hello. Yeah, that looks really nice. Although the ground part seems to be habited. Just another nice descent. Oh, looking for a place to have a very short stop to check where we now actually are. compared to the to the border with uh with Germany. So it looks like another six seven km and we’re we are already at the border with Germany. Then I already have ridden 50 km today. Uh that goes really smoothly so far. Yeah. Thinking about where I should end my trip today. Is it already at the place where my car is and spend the night over there? because driving home after this ride all the way to the Netherlands, yeah, it’s not a very wise idea, I think, after uh to ride for 8 hours at least after a day of cycling. But I could already uh yeah, spend the night near my uh my car and then uh yeah, just have a really early start. So, I’ll be home uh by Wednesday uh evening. And also this evening is the match of Germany, no sir, Austria against the Netherlands at 6:00. Not sure whether I’m fully able to see it because I also need to eat probably. But uh let’s see how do looks pretty German here already. So on one of the bigger roads now, but it does have a nice wide shoulder, so that is perfect. And really smooth So I seem to get closer to the border now. [Applause] And we took the wrong turn. Let’s move back. Let’s go this way. Rado Mirich. This is the border town. Where’s the border? Is it actually a river? I think this is the former border building. Yes, this is the border. And I see a sign for Bundes Republic Dors. Here we are. Even ah one of these nice old DDR poles. Nice. Even fresh zax. So I think I just wanted to show off my journey. I’m sorry for that. It’s always handy when you uh speak the language again and read all the signs and all the descriptions of products in the supermarket. Hagen via such a lovely thing. as well as smooth asphalt. Yeeha! Very big farms then. That’s all. So bench starts. I think we ring about 65 km already and it’s 10 12. So let’s see if we can score some lunch over here. Nice little town so far. No stores. I don’t think I reached the church yet. So the city town center. No, it should be over there. Yep. No bakery. So, taking a little bit of a detour because some road construction. This means this 9% time. Oh, shades. That’s much better. Oh yeah, I couldn’t really find a suitable place to buy lunch. The bakery didn’t look uh promising to me. On to the next option then. I’m not sure whether that’s already in the Czech Republic or not. Yes, new battery in the GoPro. Let’s go again. Toots Bamboo. Bamboo ankles. Yes. So, I found a bakery and this really nice calming spot for uh to have lunch. I ordered the two sandwiches, one with ham, one with cheese, and she came with this really big package. Feels kind of heavy. So, I think they’re pretty big sandwiches. Not that hungry because of the because it’s so warm, but uh I need to eat. I need some fuel. Okay, let’s first eat and then look the at the stats. How do Yes, it really looks good. Lick it. So, I decided indeed to ride all the way to Bat Shao. So, to Bat Sherno, what is it? Bat Sh. Yeah, sorry. Bat Shandau. So, I decided to cycle all the way to Bat Shando. Um so the place where my car is uh and where yeah I started my tour I think it’s about 58 km left and about 600 m of climbing and it is now 1:30. Yeah, still a tailwind. It’s not too hot so uh I’ll go for it. Just booked a I just booked an apartment in Bachundo. So first let’s get to the Czech border. I think that’s about 15 km left and then uh ride through the Czech Republic once more. I spent my last uh check crowns then onto Germany to Bachando again. This was a very nice place to have uh lunch and to sit and relax for a while. But now it’s back on the bike and let’s climb how really big houses here. Cool. I don’t see [Applause] [Applause] You’re at the border. That was quickly. But yeah, Chesca Republica, Yurikov. Let’s take a picture. [Music] So from Germany, no from Poland to Germany to Chesca Republica. Later on back to Germany. Back in the forest. A big check flag over there. Not sure whether it’s a monument or just the highest point because my climb is over. Okay. And we’re entering the town of Schluv right now. I could use a cold drink. So, let’s look for that. And also a place to spend my final crowns. I’ve already been there. I just need a cold Coke. Where can I find it? 18 crowns for a cold Coke, which is about uh 7075 cents. Not bad. Let’s climb. Okay, so this road’s not so much fun. Really busy with big lries or trucks as well. And uh they’re going pretty fast and no shoulder. So, let’s hope uh this uh is over pretty quickly. Let’s go on this downhill. So, I just spent my final 165 cr exactly in the village here that I’m just riding out of. Just bought boost because I don’t didn’t know what else what to uh what to buy. But uh yeah, it’s to take back home. What a yeah, incredibly nice day of cycling. Uh today it is a tiny bit on the warm side on the climbs on the tougher climbs where there’s no shade, but yeah, still it’s uh it’s not uh that you’re overheating or something. Yeah, the only disadvantage was a few stretches of road where it was really busy with big trucks and they’re going really fast. But right now it’s it’s better again on this country lane. So, let’s check the stats. So far today, 110 km ridden with an average of 20.3 and yeah, I think it’s about uh 22 more kilometers. I’ve climbed uh 1,049 m today already. So, it’s just another 300 to go, I think. Okay, on to Germany. out. All right. So, some of the last villages uh of the Czech Republic. I’m now passing through. A lot of little villages. quite picturesque uh in general. I think we’re getting close to the border. Ah, yes. I see the sign. First leave Czech Republic. Bye-bye, Czech Republic. It’s been a pleasure. Hello, Germany. Oh, you are So we’re in the town of Sepnitz. Pretty big town. Also uh quite touristy and nice looking Septitz and we’re going up there. Ah B Shandanda was on the sign 13 km. That’s where I need to go. So, I think this is the final big climb and it’s in the sun, so uh that makes it a bit harder, but still doing fine. Where’s my graph? Oh, 51 m in 1 kilometer. So, that’s 5%. Not bad. And it also means that soon we will be seeing the Elbow River again in our descent. Yes, we reached the top. So, downhill towards the river Elba. Here we go. There’s the Zakuis again. Oh, that was quite a nice descent. So, I booked myself kind of an apartment, small apartment, another hotel room in uh in Bat Shando, which means I also need to go to the supermarket for a short stop to get dinner, breakfast, and also some uh food for on the road. Uh tomorrow, it should have a fridge, so everything uh should stay nice and cool. Let’s see how quick we get into the apartment. So, I believe you need to call somebody and then get an access key. Let’s see. This looks nice. And the big reward for completing the full circle, Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, Germany, Czech Republic, Germany is this really nice descent into Batando. I completed the full circle. Woohoo! And you’re in B. Let’s check if there’s a message from the uh apartment owner. So, no message yet. So, let’s check what’s information is at the door. Come here. [Music] Two. Two. And the Dutch are not very good. [Music] Good morning from the bike. Yeah, I just just need to ride the final 2 3 km. It’s actually over there on the other side of the alba to uh to the place where my car is. Spend the night uh as you know in uh over here uh in an apartment. So final ride and then uh yeah a final car ride back home of about 750 km. So that will be the challenge for today. [Music] A little bit wider uh than the last time I saw the alba or the lava. night [Music] and there is there is B Chandel. [Music]
