This is the decent by bicycle from Cime de la Bonette (2,860 m), down to Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée (1,142 m), carried out on 10 July, 2025. I ascended late in the day so that I would be descending in the dusk light which I hoped would add some drama to the video. This also meant that there was much less traffic than there would be earlier in the day.

Note that I intentionally descended the ‘Cime’ loop the wrong way (no entry signs and an arrow pointing against me at 0:53). This was done in order to capture the view down the west side of the mountain, something I would have otherwise missed in the video.

On the descent we pass the Col de la Bonette (2:47), Stèle du Général Jacquemot (10:36) the Camp des Fourches (12:21), the village of Bousiéyas (20:54), the abandoned village of Pra (25:18), the Cascade de Vens (30:03), finally arriving in Saint-Étienne-de-Tinée (40:38). The occasional whooping and whistling of marmots can be heard during the descent.

Audio was captured with microphones mounted on the rear forks near the hub.
