I’ve been guiding small cycling groups in Romania and Hungary for a few years now, and every autumn ride reminds me why I started this business in the first place.
Late autumn everything seems more quiet. The light is softer, the air is fresher and the forest splendours in so many different colours. My favourite bit has to be the gravel trail between Sighișoara and Viscri. 2 days of serene forest singletrack with leaves and gravel popping beneath our 50mm tyres. And let's not forget, the fresh batch of home made plum brandy is ready by now, which locals always insist you try.
Curious what everyone’s favorite late-season touring spots are, and why?
