What a day on the road!
Our vanlife adventure took us to the iconic Millau Viaduct in southern France — a true masterpiece of engineering. Only problem? We couldn’t actually find the viewing points! 😂 Jess had one mission: find breakfast. Her café directions led us straight into the middle of a charity event — the Millau 100k, with runners, walkers, and cyclists everywhere, roads closed off, and chaos all around. “Jess, where you taking us?!”
Eventually, after passing a McDonald’s we couldn’t reach (of course), we found an amazing spot and walked 1,200 metres up an 8% gradient to stand beneath this incredible structure.
Later, we drove over the viaduct — slightly underwhelming after that hike! with a high toll fee — before tackling a nerve-wracking single-track mountain road with sheer drops and no barriers.
Breathtaking views, tight squeezes, and one big sigh of relief when we made it to our overnight aire stop. Time for a shower and a laugh at the day’s chaos!

[Music] Looks like it, isn’t it? Yeah, I think it is. We are now 26 minutes away from the Malaw Bridge going around all of these roads. it because we’ve chose not to do the motorway. [Music] Oh, things are falling. Hello to you and welcome to my channel. Subscribers, old and new. If you have watched my vlogs, then you’ll know that currently myself and my niece Jess and the boys are on a road trip around Europe. We have traveled through some great scenery and currently on route to the Milo vioaduct which is one of the highest bridges. My vlogs aren’t just about the scenery. I want you to join in with some of the things that we get up to. Oh, look. There’s the sign for the Milo vioaduct just there. Look, if you look closely, once we find the vioaduct, we get an unexpected viewing point, which was fantastic. Well worth it. We’re in the middle of a thing. We might have to go back and we can’t go and Oh, what you done, Jess? Jess fancied a full-on cooked breakfast and directed us into the middle of the town. Unbeknown to us there was a charity event taking place. I think you’ve taken us right into the town. [Music] We need to get out of here. Um, we’re holding everybody up with them. Right. So, now we’re ended up down here. This is all to get Jess a cooked breakfast, which we’re not going to be able to go anywhere unless they move in front. Bloody hell. I ain’t got to go and do anything like that. It’s taking us down and it’s telling us to go right at the bottom. And this was to that original destination that we’d got. So I don’t know where whether we could get back up into the town at all to cuz this is taking me downhill. Wow. Look at that. It’s all like cascades down there of water. cuz big up as well. [Music] I want to go that way, mate. The mac up there. McDonald’s are there. Whatever. Anything for it. I’m lucky to have a mack. How do we get into an entrance into it? It’s not like, is it? That’s out, isn’t it? There is. Was that out? [Music] Oh, let’s just carry on a minute and just get to wherever we needed to get to. and stop and gather our thoughts. There they are. They’re all going into into there where we want to go, I think. They all running in our direction. Oh, [Music] it’s there. I’m just wondering how the hell we’re going to get on to it. Oh, you are kidding me. We’re here. This is the viewing point up here. So, there’s got to be somewhere we can stop in a minute. [Music] There’s the bridge. It’s whether there’s anywhere along this road to stop. Look. Shall we go? Where’s this ambulance going? Don’t know the ambulance. Charlie going straight on. Mute bar. Does that mean it’s stopped? Moot bar. Would that be rooted closed? We don’t know. All we want to do is see the bridge from down below and then we want to go over it. Maybe in their car park. Yeah, the road’s closed there. Look anyway, so we can’t go any closer. Yay. The charity event meant that we had an opportunity if we dared to walk up the bridge. The police were nowhere near. So excit. Do we or don’t we? Do we or don’t we? [Music] What on earth would be the worst that could happen? We’d just be turned around and sent back. But to be fair, I was constantly looking around me to see if any police officers came up there or any charity event organizers. As I took the dogs up there with me, everybody was looking, thinking that we were part of the charity event. So, we fitted in quite well. [Music] At this point, we had walked 1.2 kilometers all uphill. We only came out for a 5minute photo shoot. I just kept walking and walking and Jess had her sliders on and she kept losing her sliders. What an absolutely amazing piece of engineering. It was all Oh my gosh. Yeah. I just wanted to see more. [Music] [Music] Oh. I almost fell over cuz I was up a grass bank. [Music] So, here we are at the VIO D Malawo. We are heading back down to the van now to drive and go over it, which even though we’re under it now, and as you can see, I haven’t got my selfie stick. Uh, we are about an hour away to drive to go over it. So, it seems like it’s a day of driving again today. It’s quite impressive, actually. So, it’s going to be fantastic to go over So, from where we’ve parked, we have just walked up an 8% gradient for 1,200 m. So, we’re now heading back down this way. And it’s absolutely amazing views. And all these guys are doing um a thousand what is it? 100 100 kilometer walk or run or cycle. There’s quite a lot of them. This car park has got a complete solar roof. What a wonderful idea. Never seen any in the UK. If anybody can tell me where there is some, let me know. We had so many issues trying to get onto here because of the road closures. It was an absolute nightmare. But here we are. We’re on it now. Here we go. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Applause] [Music] That’s it. Is there somebody in there? And then we came to the tall, but we hadn’t passed under any gantries or through anything, so we hadn’t got a ticket. Oh, okay. They’re stuffing them there. Let’s go. The cost of this toll will be updated as soon as we hit 2,000 miles. Oh, wow. Look up there. It’s a big truck. See, this is scarier than going over that bridge, looking down. Oh my god, it is. Did you realize how far? No, I didn’t. Go high. Wow. Let’s put you back in the cradle. Tight turn in a minute as well. Bloody hell. Well, if you went off the edge there, you don’t want to be driving these in the dark. No. [Music] We are now on our way to an air for the night so we can get showered. Is this road scarier than the Milo vioaduct? Watch and see. Anything come the other way now? Yeah, cuz I’ve got to go on that side. Still got another four miles. The other mountain roads we’ve been down have been double lines. Jeez. Well, this is another interesting drive. Having just gone over the uh Milow pie dot, this is actually more scary. This is a tight one. [Music] down a bit more. Yeah. [Music] Didn’t realize you climbed so high. Watch. I bet there’s a straight road to get here. What is it? I need a straight road. [Music] [Music] [Music] or if it’s just sheer drops down there. Bent road back up again. [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] Wonder if these were once houses or Oh Where can we go? I don’t know. Hang on. I’m going to go. Let me just just Oh, golly. That was a holding a breath moment. He seemed to come around there quite fast. He did. I thought I can’t go over the edge anymore. Oh, I just want my camera to stop still. Bounce, bounce, bounce. Time to be breath now. Breathe. All of this for shower. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Thanks for watching. Once again, don’t forget to like, comment, share, and subscribe. Lots of love from me.
