In September of 2025 I was part of the media team covering the Alps Divide Ultra Cycling event. A 1000km off-road ultra bike packing event from Menton on the Mediterranean coast of France to Thonon-Les-Bains on the shores of Lac Leman. Uh so it I’m 58 uh from Paris, France. Uh it has been Yeah, you don’t look 58. You look a bit younger than that. I’m number 58. It’s my It’s my name now. Uh yeah, it’s been quite the tough day. Yeah, I’ve been like really exhausted in the climb. try to like stay at my endurance speed, but I get so slow that I just stop for a nap of an hour and a half. Yeah. And now the plan is to eat first. Yeah. And then push it through the night and I notice the weather forecast are planning for heavy rain from 4:00 a.m. to 7 a.m. Right. Okay. So, is this this is why you’re pushing through the night to avoid the rain? I hope I will be sleeping between 4:00 a.m. and 7 a.m. I hope I will stop at 2. Something like this. Sensible sensible decision. Uh and you know obviously today’s been hard. Uh what’s been the highlight of today? Highlight uh on the path like 400 meter above. It was majestic because there were some rain with the sun going down. So, there were like this huge rain going down with the clouds and the colors. Fantastic. It was amazing. Fantastic. Well, look, I know I know you’ve got to go and get some food uh so you can fuel up your your ride through the night. Have a well, have a good night ride tonight. Hopefully the rain stays away until you are safely in bed and tucked away and uh enjoy the rest of your race. Thanks.
