Hello and welcome to another video, a short video hopefully. So, Aka, who you’ve seen on the channel before when I went around the Dales, is a member of Huddersfield Star Wheelers and he’s hosting a hill climb event today. And he’s wrote me into coming, my first one. Saying bricking, it’ be an understatement. So, for those of you that don’t know what a hill climb is, I suspect that most of you do, but it’s basically going up a hill as hard as you can and making your bike as possibly as you as light as you possibly can. So, I’ve got the Mone with me today. Uh, with a few things taken off. I’ve taken my light off. I’ve put some of these budget lights on and um yeah, Scott’s here somewhere. Aki’s here taking part. Uh, Yorkshire Wheeler’s here and there’s a few others as well. So, let’s get over there, get signed on, and yeah, let’s go and hurt myself on a hill. Oh, Ross, where do we get signed on? I’ve just signed on now. Where is it? back down there where all the cars were. All right. So much for going signing on. Yeah, bumped into a warm up. Uh yeah, now I’m just going to go and do some gentle stuff now and I’ll go and get signed on. Roll back down, sign on and then we’ll do some rolling bits and uh yeah, calm my legs down. But what a day is definitely butch the weather today. Look at it. Every time I’ve been up here, it’s been rainy and misty and crap. It’s a bluebird. Well, I’ve got me uh number on and I’m with number 55 in his brand new arrow suit. So, I’ll leave a link to Scott’s video which will have probably been out for ages. No, I’m going to try and get this out this weekend. If I do it, I’m doing well. And then midweek there’s going to be a full uh overlay power data video. So, keep your eyes out for that. I’m hoping for sub 8 previous records 8 38 or something. It’ll have popped up here now what my previous record was. Uh but that was on the back end of doing 132 mile well 48 hours before with Aki around the Dales. I think may have already mentioned that. And um yeah 2 days later we come and had a dig fully loaded. I was I think I were nine pound heavier. Actually, I put a few pounds on the last few days. So, probably about 5 lb heavier. Um, and I’ve took bottles, tool bag, my radar light, my front light. I bought some cheap Alford’s ones there. Yeah, only a couple of rides left for this bad boy of winter now. Yeah. And then it’s uh it’s going to be full winter bike and there’ll be the odd ride on this when the weather permits. But for the most part, it’s going to be uh put away till the Cheshure Cat in March. I think if I do use it, I’ll put uh my clip on my guards. Anyway, right. Got to go. See you can play that game. Hello. Hi. Why am I not getting one? Chop every big rig. It’s got to look good at the start. 28. Yeah. Three, two, one, go. Jesus. Too many. Heat. Heat. [Music] Go. [Music] [Music] Here we go. Try. [Music] 5 [Music] Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Oh, hell. Make sure my belly is in, not out. That was horrible. Horrible. I don’t know what the time is. I don’t know where the power is. All right, it’s wrong. This thing said I was at 120. Oh my god. Let’s go and uh compose myself and I’ll be back. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Push, push, push, push, push. Push, push, push, push. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Go, go, go. Catch it. Catch it. Go, go, go, go, go. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go, go. Keep pushing. Keep pushing. Keep pushing. [Applause] Keep going. Go go go go go go. Keep going. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Come on. Keep going. Keep going. Keep going. Come on. [Music] [Applause] Go go go go go go. Heat. Heat. [Music] Well, I didn’t record too much of the uh the prize giving out. Um but yeah, really good, really good event. Now, in terms of my time, um I did 6:31.9. It be popping up here now. 631.9 and according to chat GPT because I can’t look at the segment on um on on Straa because it’s deemed it as a it’s deemed it as a thought I was on an ebike. I weren’t I weren’t on an ebike. I average 4 average 431 watts. I averaged at 4.2 watts a kilo which let me tell you I’m well happy with. like well up there. I’ve been chatting to Jack GPT all week coming up with the game plan. Didn’t follow it. I did a little bit set off at like 700 watts and then once we got over the steeper part then I just like kept it high wattage and then that last bit I absolutely destroyed myself like proper buried myself. My heart rate I was having to use my watch because my flipping chest strap batteries run out and I didn’t check put a fresh battery in. And I was considering doing it as well, but I don’t know why, but I didn’t. But it just goes to show that with the right focus training, and if you’re on a mission to lose weight, with the right focus training, you can you can keep hold of that high power. Um, yeah, I’m it’s all a bit of a blur at the minute. I’m hungry. I’m cold. And yeah, I don’t know what to think, but yeah, I’m over the moon with me time. Like more than happy. I wanted to I think I finished 43rd. I was one place behind Scott. There was like less than one second between us both which makes me super happy. Really, really does make me happy because Scott is a very, very, very strong rider. He’s a really super strong rider. Um, and he’s a real good strong hill climber as well. And to be one second behind Scott, that’s like I’m happy with that. I’m really happy that will I do another hill climb again? Who knows? Possibly. Won’t be this year cuz it’s ends in two weeks. But yeah, that could be the focus next summer is to get hill climb ready and go and um go and smash myself up some more climbs. But anyway, I’m going to end this video here. Thanks for watching. Uh I hope you have enjoyed it. If you have enjoyed it, please do consider pressing that subscribe button. Super close to hitting the 2,000 subs. Um, and yeah, I’m going to leave it there and I will see you in the next video. I hope you’ve enjoyed this one. Take care, guys, and I will see you in the next video. Bye.

1 second, Is that all a skin suit gives you 😂
'I'm going already' 😂 Good effort lad, I did my one and only hill climb 2 years ago up the Brickworks near Macc. Some fast guys out that day, sadly I wasn't one of them!
You did awesome mate, so proud of you! I may like the hills, but not that short (at the moment!). Long ones – yeah!
That's a huge improvement 👏 💪 well done Russ
good ride
Really well done Russ, takes a lot of ⚽️⚽️ to pin a number and compete. Now get yourself on some flatter TT’s and show people how the power works 💪
