Husqvarna invited me to the 2025 Husqvarna Trek in Portugal. The deal was I had to test their 2025 701 Enduro … a bike I’ve never had any desire to ride.

Adam, how was your day? Really good. [Music] [Music] I’ve always wanted to visit Portugal and now thanks to Husqavana motorcycles that dream has become a reality. Day one of the 2025 Husqvana Trek. Um yeah, Husky invited me along. It’s a customer event. People just roll in with their customized Nordens like this expedition. Have a good day, dude. You too. Take care. And uh yeah, it’s a pretty big show. I’ve got a 701 in here somewhere. Had dinner with this guy last night. You You are actually the real deal, my friend. Nice bike. I got a motto of old gear. No idea. The Jouro fleet. New model 701. Oh, look. I guess that’s mine. This looks like uh all the rest of the Jouos. 701s all around. Don’t you just love the history of Europe? Beautiful. That guy obviously lives in Europe somewhere. What’s his name? He’s looks like a bit of a factory hero. Jandra. Jander. What’s the hold up? [Applause] Why is everyone freaking out? Let’s go team. Come on. Who’s this guy? Let’s see how this lad rides. He seems pretty legit. The check journalist. He looks the part. Wonder if he’s a rally guy. Looking forward to meeting these people at lunch. Wow, what a scene. Yeah, he’s good to go. He’s a clean rider. I like that the media guys are very conscious of their technique. They know they’re on camera and it’s good. You know, these are the guys keeping the dream alive, you know, like just telling the stories, presenting the machines to the masses. This is cool. It’s good to be in Portugal riding with, you know, dirt bike people. Wow. Far out. Some reasonably sketchy rocks. You got to watch the rear frigin tanks on these things. Wow. Yeah, it’s my number one gripe with this particular bike, these models, is the the petrol behind you, the rear tank. But, um, yeah, we’ll worry about that later. I’ll go into that business later. Let’s just enjoy the scenery, shall we? Nice engine, though. I will say that much. It seems there’s a lot of off-road freedom in Portugal. I’ve been here a bit earlier on a little family holiday and uh the people have been so nice. They’ve been amazing. And it’s one of those countries that, wow, you could quite easily live here. Just the vibe. [Music] The trick with that is don’t look too close in front of you. Look a bit further and you’ll balance so much better. Look a bit more further ahead than what you normally would. Cuz if you start staring at each individual rock, your your balance just goes w and you make it harder for yourself. Weaving small pieces of experience into conversation is a nice way to engage with people. But when it’s all said and done, I’m still the kid on the bike who started riding at 15. So I’ll never take for granted the world of motorcycleycling I’ve created for myself. [Music] Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] Yeah. Yeah. So, I saw your bike. I’m G Müller, like the soccer player. G Müller. Okay. So, I follow your channel and thank you so much for all your tips because I’m a re restart on the motorbike and I already have also a tener at home. Here you are, mate. You’re the real deal. Nice to meet you, sir. Nice to meet you. I’ll see you at the lunch. It’s nice when you get people so passionate about what I do has benefited their their motorcycleycling journey. It’s It’s pretty cool. Just take it easy, brother. Get through. Certainly a nice motor. It’s like a powerful KLR 650. It’s just got that smooth agriculturalness. This is the new expedition by the looks of it. Keep it together, son. Keep it together. Yeah, boy. pretty epic terrain. You know, I didn’t know what to expect with this event when Husky are dealing with such a a broad range of riders and, you know, rider abilities. But, um, this is a three chili breakout and it’s awesome that they’re factoring this stuff in. You know, it’s epic. Yeah. And I think some of the riders wouldn’t even know what to expect. Like, and they have everything in terms of are they going to challenge themselves? Like, some of this stuff’s pretty steep. We But look at this. Day one of the husky track. And this is fairly savage. It is, but it it’s not, but it kind of is, you know, Oh, some nasty kickers like just big sharp roly poly. rocks ready to back you clean off. Portugal, hey, had a lot of good olives. Olive oil, prashto, salami, good food and wine here. The land of good food and wine. Looks like we got the photographer coming up. beautiful Portugal. The mountains, the landscape, sensational. It’s a very comfortable machine to be blasting along these rocks. I’ll give it that. The suspension’s plush. That’s what it is. You just don’t want to get out of shape with the back end. That’s the only thing you got to worry about with this bike, keeping that tail in line. And it for for the best part it’s it’s pretty. But when that fuel starts swinging around behind you, it’s not a nice feeling. [Music] [Music] Heat up here. [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] I reckon we’ll be stopping for lunch in that village down there. We’re on track. Yep. Right hander. [Music] Wow. Now this village has just been formed among the rocks. What a fairy tale place. [Music] This is pig. Yeah. Bacon or something. I think it’s station’s closed. The boys and I have been a little happy on the 701 throttle and are doubting if we’ll make it to the next fuel station on reserve. Lucky Huskana has a little team support out the back. A splash of dash. 100 octane. It’s rice fuel. I read it. 100 octane. [Music] Heat [Music] up here. [Music] [Music] on the 701. Portugal’s awesome And if you slip that thing out or if it gets kicked by a rock and gets that big swap going, it is a dangerous situation to be on in a bike like this. The I I don’t like the BMW F800’s for the same reason. I don’t like any bike with the fuel at the back. [Music]

  1. It's an honor to see my country in one of your videos, and i really hope you enjoyed riding one of my favourite places. Thank you for the content you put out. Cheers from Portugal, mate

  2. Maybe akin to the old saying " doesn't matter what you're riding, as long as you're riding ".
I probably just made that up, but I'm gonna roll with it!

Portugal, the land of good food and wine… And trails!

  3. Love the episode and drone footage, have ridden in Spain a couple of times and love it, will one day get to Portugal to ride, mates a different day from Australia.

  4. Q. Can you really feel the weight at rear fuel tank.. does it really throw you off and is it dangerous ?..
I’ve never ridden a bike like this but from all accounts the 701 seems to be the best all rounder for someone like me who would avoid all bitumen road sections and look for fire trials and singles. What are your thoughts ?

  5. I've ridden for 30 years and currently own all styles of dirtbike including my ktm 690.
You can't even tell the tank is in the back. If anything once the tank is down a bit it's more in the centre.
    So much drama for nothing.

  6. Imagine a baffle in the rear tank, just a 3 by 3 grid of panels with holes. Stops slushing and surging. Not enough.. move up to a 4 by 4 grid of panels with holes in them.
Prolly got to cut your plastic rear tank in two.. just to get it in the plastic weld it back up..
    No big drama.. right

  7. I had a KTM 690 smc-r, without competition Id say its the funniest streetbike Ive owned, you could pull it up to a wheelie in 5 gear (no clutch) and just wheelie into the horizon…

  8. I was interested in hearing more about your thoughts on the bike in the end, did it convert you? I have always wanted a 701 but so many dislike them I don't know if I want one anymore…

  9. I have the ES700 (same thing but red) and I found dropping a tooth from the front sprocket made a huge difference – it seemed to get the powerband in much better places. I also lowered it but I guess that is rather personal 😂 But what I would say is for a bad rider which I am this bike really looks after me and lowering it realy seemd to make it less "tippy" or I gained confidence. A heavier bike would be a nightmare while yes a more focused bike would be easier maybe but I've never serviced a bike in my life and barely know how to adjust the chain – this bike seems to put up with a kack handed idiot. Fo me it nails what I am after.

  10. Incredible scenery and filming.

I find the 690 to be the worst bike I've ever ridden offroad. It's too raked out, frame is too rigid and the rear end acts like there is a small passenger onboard. It has flaws and handles nothing like a proper trail bike but that's ok. I knew that before I purchased one and now have two. They fill a niche. It has good range, excellent motor and longer legs than my smaller dual sports but without the heft of a multi-cylinder bike. I can get myself in trouble and still get out without help. I accept it's flaws.

  11. great video as usual what is the region that the event took place in? I am planning a trip to Portugalsoon and would like to visit that interesting town with all the big rocks in it.

  12. If its any consolation,I've never liked them either.Lots of storiees about them(and the 690 brother)breaking down, very expensive and still need money throwing at them. They are an "unusual"shape and dont feel like the traditional huskies/Ktms despite looking similar.
For about 15k you get a lot less than you should in my humble opinion.

  13. Sincere thank you Adam. After a 10 year hiatus from dirt bikes you inspired me to get back on 3 years ago. After a 9 year interlude from sports bikes you were the cause for getting me back onto the black top last week, albeit with a style of bike which I mostly looked at with disdain…a big ADV, the GS 1300 Trophy (I had to draw the line at the Rhino proper). Many, many thanks. Cheers.

  14. Adam your videos are inspiring.!! Can you tell us more about why you don't like this tank position? That sounds very interesting. I already understand the basics, but a detailed opinion from a professional would be great.!!

  15. Another great video mate! As a 701 rider of 3 years (with over 20k off road on it) I hear what you’re saying about the rear tank, it can step out a bit, especially with a full tank. But tbh I’m not pushing it nearly as much as you so probably don’t notice it as much 😂 All things being equal though, I still rate it as the best long distance, off road oriented, travel bike out there! Especially if you’re riding solo. In fact I don’t think the 701 really is for guys at your level, I think it’s more suited to average riders who are crunching the miles, rather than elite riders pushing it to the max.
