Viva il Giro! The grande partenza of the 106th Giro d’Italia is in Abruzzo, kicking off with a 19.6km individual time trial. Starting in Fossacesia Marina, the route heads north up the coast towards before an uphill run-in to the line in Ortona. This is the first opportunity for the TT specialists to put time into their rivals in the battle for the maglia rosa.

Imo, Evenepoels TT performance nowadays is quite well into alltime best TT level, what a Tony Martin or Cancellara only could do in their prime. And evenepoel could climb with the best. He is a mini version of Jan Ulrich, but 100% committed, zero distractions and super motivated.

Evenepoel winning isn't surprising, but the way he does it, is! He destroys the competition, 43 seconds on Roglic, even 22 on Ganna. It's like you have Evenepoel, and then 20/30 seconds behind the rest fighting for a second place.
