these are 10 things what you should not do in [Music] Malta welcome back to my YouTube channel guys it’s Alex here after making over 200 videos about Malta finally I’m doing a video of the top 10 things that you should not do in Malta now guys this video is going to be very helpful for people who are planning to visit Malta as tourists and at the same time extremely helpful for those people that are planning to move to Malta now some of these points that you’re going to see in this video are going to be quite similar to the countries where you are coming from things that you should not do but there are several of these points that you will hear in this video which are specific only to Malta considering Malta has its own tradition all culture and language as well and now without any further Ado let’s begin the very first thing that you should not do in Malta do not talk in Arabic or Italian language to the maltes people now you might be wondering why I’m saying this people before they come to Malta they check things about the island and they’re realizing that the actual language it’s quite similar to Arabic Italian and a little bit of French as well guys this language is completely different maltes have their own language and they’re very proud of it of course very proud of their culture and tradition as well now we are moving to the second part which is going to be quite complex but I want you to hear it in full do not park in the yellow lines or undesignated areas parking it’s quite difficult in Malta especially if you’re going to the prime locations and sometimes people are getting so frustrated if they cannot find parking for like 15 minutes and they’re leaving the car in certain undesignated areas guys here in Malta we have the authorities a company by the name Lessa which are circling around the island from Monday till Sunday from late in the in the morning till late in the evening and they’re checking pretty much all around the island if there are people that are either not following the regulations on the roads and most importantly parking you will definitely get a fine even if you park your car only like this much out of the white lines please be careful because these people they might be working on a commission so for them finding anyone that is illegally parked somewhere on the island is like finding a gold mine the more tickets they give the more money they make moving on the thing number three in Malta it’s I’m going to say it like this do not complain about the fireworks in Malta over the summertime now what do I mean about this Malta has its own tradition and culture where over the summertime they’re celebrating feasts every village every city in Malta has its own Feast the tradition is they’re making fireworks starting from 8 :00 in the morning up until 11:00 in the evening every certain area on the island has its own Feast let’s say zui for example the area where I live Zuri has imagine two feasts and each of these feasts has a whole week of a celebration it starts on Monday and at the end of the week it’s when the huge celebration is going on the tradition as I mentioned starts from 8:00 in the morning and the fireworks that I’m talking about sound something like this so Guys these fireworks it’s basically bombs during the day and the fireworks show at night on a Saturday evening where you can really see the beautiful lights that are coming from the fireworks now a lot of people in Malta are complaining that this is damaging the environment on the island that it’s not pleasant for the ears that it’s scaring the Stray Cats outside and dogs as well for some of you guys that you do not like this unfortunately this would not stop because this has been tradition in Malta that has been going on for the past decades and regardless of how much we are going to complain about it nope they’re still going on oh and the reason why I said do not complain about this especially online is because 100% you’re going to get a comment of go back to your country if you complain about this tradition in Malta now we are moving on to something which is extremely important for those adventurous tourists that are planning to come to Malta and those of you guys that are planning to move to Malta because of the nature hikes Etc guys there is a place called dingly Cliffs which is beautiful to go there for a visit and to watch the sunset but at the same time A lot of people are using the cliffs in Malta for climbing please be careful and don’t do climbing in Malta if you are not professional in it especially in those areas that are so risky we are moving on to the fifth point of this video which is also regarding safety in Malta for those tourists attractions and adventurous people and this is do not go into the sea during a windy weather guys the wind in Malta especially in the cooler months it’s so unpredictable the wind has such power at certain moments that it can literally take chairs and tables up in the air with this being said I completely understand some of you adventurous people how beautiful it is when you see the waves and you want to go for a surfboard in you want to swim in the sea and stuff like that do you know how many incidents they have been reported in Malta even of people standing beside the shoreline just watching the waves and taking photos of it unfortunately last month when we had only one windy day in Malta there was a reported incident that a woman unfortunately lost her life guys please be careful your life does not have a price tag of the best photo on your Instagram profile please be careful and stay away from the shoreline especially the rocky beaches if it’s a windy day in Malta moving on to the point number six guys do not expect that the drivers in Malta are going to follow the traffic rules I know it sounds funny but once you’re here in Malta and you rent a car the first thing that you’re going to do regret that you rented a car in Malta once you see how we are driving here on the Island it’s such a show I am on the roads every day Monday to Sunday different time of the day I can be on the own during the early hours in the morning in the afternoon in the evening Sunday Friday Monday whatever it is guys every day I am seeing things that I just say to myself Jesus where are the authorities to record all of this and give F to these people like it’s a circus even the pedestrians let me say that you you know I’ve been thinking about this quite a lot and I’ve been talking with many of my friends about drivers in Malta and pedestrians in Malta we all realized that everyone here on the roads thinks that they’re privileged like these these people they have priorities like everyone thinks when you’re on the road it’s only yourself there you have a privilege to do anything you like and you have a priority because you’re in a rush to get to the place where you’re heating to I’m getting so heated up when I’m talking about this but really h ly you have to be here on the roads to understand what a show it is now we are moving on to the part number seven which is going to be extremely funny for some of you guys that are watching my videos and this is do not overuse malse words or malse phrases now guys if you’re planning to move to Malta the first things the first words that you will hear are bonju Mela this is what you’re going to hear throughout your entire day in Malta especially if you’re surrounded with malse people and now we foreign people we absorb all of this because we are constantly hearing it and when we speak with malse people we try to impress them and tell them like Hey listen we learned some of your phrases we’ll learn some of your words let me start using them you’re speaking with a malse guy and there is nothing more annoying than a foreign guy talking to a malti guy in this way m m okay Eva yes yes yes me m m believe me there is nothing more annoying than this it is annoying even for malti people learning the whole language is one thing learning five words and overusing them it’s a completely different thing I know people that they’re using these words nonstop even when they’re with foreign people people they don’t need to be with malt people they’re just with foreign people and they’re overusing them even some malt they might find you offensive if you’re are overusing the word Mela I know that eh it’s not a word but it is a slang that we are using here in Malta especially the maltes people I’m getting hited up with this because I find it so annoying when someone is all the time me me m and it is a foreign guy even with malti sometimes they annoying with this now listen to to this because I have all the points in my phone number eight is do not go in pateville as a single man and you are under the influence of alcohol now you might be wondering why there are so many strip clubs in pateville and so many beautiful in Brackets ladies standing outside and they’re trying to seduce single men walking around to enter inside the clubs and they can and spend money do you know how many incidents are reported not only in Malta but globally about people being used and robbed when they enter into these strip clubs in Malta just Google it and you will find a lot of things French men was robbed in Malta Italian men was robbed in Malta guys please be careful because under the influence of alcohol and a lady passing by to you and seducing you and tell you to come inside and she’s all showing off you are going to end up in a trap you’re going to spend even the last single Euro that you have with you inside those clubs please be extremely careful now I’m going to get a lot of backlash about saying this but we don’t care we need to talk the reality Point number nine that I have prepared for you guys is do not expect a beach holiday in Malta Malta has a lot of history a lot of tradition culture and a lot lot of things that you can do when it comes to sightseeing but it is lacking of a beach holiday Vibe and let me explain to you why we do have sandy beaches which are all in the north part of Malta golden Bay adira Bay Paradise Bay each of these beach has only one hotel nearby we have Radison blue which is next to Golden Bay in adira Bay there is only one hotel at the moment which is a huge resort called DB SE bank and it’s walking distance to adira Bay but this is the only beach that you can find over here you still need to get a taxi to go all around the island Paradise Bay is my favorite beach in Malta unfortunately it’s the smallest Beach it’s a Sandy Beach but the water is so turquoise and beautiful there is only one hotel near by which is called Paradise Bay hotel now if you’re staying in this area you’re going to have only one beach next to you which is extremely popular and over the summertime finding a spot where you can put your towel on the beach it’s like winning a bingo believe me it’s so packed over the summertime that you will regret the decision to come to Malta as a beach holiday destination on the other hand if you would like to stay in the central areas such as Lima s Julians or valeta you’re lacking of sandy beaches or you have only one which is St George Bay which is the worst beach in Malta or you can go to the rocky beaches and now we are moving to the last point of this video which is also the most important point of the entire video Point number 10 which is do not book a holiday in Malta or a flight to Malta before you download my very own malse guide 1. Don't speak Arabic?! 😂 How stupid 😂 the Maltese language is actually Arabic developped from the Siculo-Arabic dialect, and the Maltese people acknowledge this 😅 it's obvious you know nothing about the language 😂😂

  2. Thank you for the video! We are coming to Malta in September and we are really exicted to see the traditional festa celebration in Zurrieq! If you have any tips or advice for tourists coming please share!

  3. I love it!! 😍 all the things said, of respecting the culture and its tradition is so well said… I think people should respect the place they visit before “thinking of touristic discoveries”. Let’s conserve traditions and populations beauty! Thank you, was useful to hear it from you, as also reflects what people think 🙂‍↕️🫶

  4. i was brought up in malta, the best years of my life. if i had £1,000,000 to spare i would buy nationality. the most civilised country i have ever been in. i tried leaning maltese but it was far too dificult for me

  5. Some of what you is true….but you are exaggerating about the driving/drivers ,because we are over populated most of the unruly drivers are not Maltese….About the ladies watching out for rich men(I don't know why you said single) you have those all over the world Thanks for advising the inoccent MEN and their wives I did not follow the rest of this video had to write this quickly …might catch up with the rest later You seem to enjoy doing this video Have a nice day …as you see I am being polite 😂😢😢😂😢

  6. Hi Alex I am a guy from Maui ,Hawaii USA Driving here is completely different then your country people do not hunk their horns here it’s considered to be in polite and if course there’s rude people everywhere but it’s very organized here
We only have fireworks on New Year’s Eve and 4th of July mostly all stores sell fireworks to the public but there are restrictions .Our beaches all have sand and many secluded beaches with few people so plenty of space
Honolulu is very busy with many tourists and crowded .Malta is a very progressive country and liberal attitudes similar to Hawaii but we really don’t have a night life like in Malta And Europe I would like to visit in the future I appreciate your videos and warm positive attitude and fun personality

  7. I am Maltese and live in Australia. The firework is part of tradition embedded in the Maltese culture. Why go to Malta if your not embracing the culture ?????????

  8. How obnoxious getting annoyed with someone trying to converse in your language. Everyone has to learn somewhere. Agree with the other points, especially the driving, hilarious. I say this as someone that is Maltese although no longer lives there as the EU has ruined it beyond recognition.

  9. As an English person it is so annoying to have foreign YouTubers refer to their audience as "guys" 🤣
I wonder if it's as annoying as those Maltese words for you?
