Welcome to football filling. Uh this season in the Premier League, two things are certain. Arsenal will keep a clean sheet and Erling Harland will score marauding one v1 goals. It’s as simple as that. And also we found out the real reason why Thomas Frank has fallen out with Jed Spence and Mickey Van Deven. Have a watch of this. Uh that’s an AI video. And if you’re an audio listener, um basically Thomas Frank just pulls the pants down of Jed Spence and kicks him in the mush basically. How cool is AI, by the way? Ridiculous. How cool is AI? You could show someone that and then be like, “What? That really happened?” Well, I showed you lot this morning and straight away some of you went, “Nah, that didn’t happen.” I was like, “Yeah, it’s miles off it. Miles off it.” Uh, lads, good weekend. Yeah. Yeah. Brilliant. Yeah. Toes, we went to the Rex game on Friday night, didn’t we? Yeah. Wicked, isn’t it? Oh, what a It’s always better when they come from behind, I find. I agree. Like just the atmosphere. We were sat next to the COV fans, weren’t we? We were. And that’s right next fans were brilliant. Weren’t they? It was a good win though. Weren’t a big for more? Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. He’s a big youth, isn’t he? God, he is a big you. Yeah. Um, right. Premier League. Uh, who should we start with? Should we go with Man City? Cuz we never started with Man City. Let’s start with Can Can he be stopped then? Can this There’s only one man can stop him. Yeah. And you’ve hit him. There’s only one man can stop him. Well, let me ask you a real what feels like a simple question. Why don’t people go tight on him? Why did they give him so much space? Ventosa, how how or why is he allowed to run through and do one ves like this? Brenford center half tried to go tight on him. Showed you exactly what happened, you know. What’s his name? Van uh Van Hecker. No. Um Vanderberg. Vanderberg went absolutely bullied and we were saying don’t go tight to him. And then on yesterday the game was, wasn’t it? Um Sessi goes looking for trouble. The ball the ball goes into Bernardo Silva and he’s trying to anticipate to go and nick the ball and then the ball gets put in behind. You’ve got no chance with with Are you saying you basically you’ve got to just try and sit off him a little bit? Don’t let him touch you. Don’t let him feel you. Just sort of sit off a little bit and try and give yourself a bit of space. Almost wait for him to have that like bad touch and then you can kind of try and get your body in and maybe nick a free kick or or whatever. But the way they defended against him yesterday was like was criminal. They just left so much space in behind. I feel like now with Man City, the way that they’re kind of they’re playing, they’ve adapted to letting other teams have the ball. So they’re kind of like they know that there’s a space in behind for Harland because last year everything was getting kind of like locked up, wasn’t it? And he wasn’t really showing himself and people were questioning him whereas now all the space is in behind and he’s just they’re the big challenges this season I think aren’t they? Yeah, I think the the the games it’s evolving all the time but teams like still fancy they can do City. So City used to have to really try and break a low or really deep block. now the game like he’d got half a field to run into, but teams fancy trying to nick it high on a press and and have an effort on their goal, but City look like the closest challengers. Um I still think without him they’d be such a different team. Is it is it one I think one goal is the next score like top scorer own goals is better. So they’ve scored 30 he scored 13 in 10 Premier League goals and then the next would that be a worry for you or is it just like no we’ve got him. Let’s look I think they’ve so fortunate they’ve got him. I mean, look, any other team in that league, I think he would still score a phenomenal amount of goals. Maybe not your team, Wolves, but any other team, any other team, he would score a phenomenal amount of goals. So, they are lucky. Obviously, they’ve broke the bank to get him when they signed him. And he is phenomenal, but they are playing and other teams are playing into their hands a little bit because if you give him half a field to run into, he’s a different animal. This episode is presented by Shaw. We all know footy fans are a passionate bunch, but the fans in South America are on another level, so the pressure the players are under in major tournaments must be huge. Plus, I’ve played out there, and it’s hot. It’s all about staying cool and calm, and I’d say Shaw’s non-stop protection range of antipersperants is a great place to start. It has 72-hour non-stop sweat and odor protection that will keep you fresh and dry on and off the pitch. Shop now at boots. Sure. It won’t let you down. Prime Harland, prime Tierry Omry. Who are you picking? Omry. Why? Why? Just it everything. Everything. Like he he would win. Look at the Real Madrid goal, for example, with a burnabout. He will pick the ball up in his own half, take on the rest of the team, and score a goal. Like he he had that in him. Don’t get me wrong, Harland’s more dominant in the air. He’s he’s stronger, but Henry was just so elegant. And he just he could he had more finishes. I I I prefer Omry as a player. Yeah. He would more pleasing on the eye aesthetically. But I I think on output I’d have to say Harland for one game. What though? For one game. No, for one season for No, one game. One game I’m going every day of the week. Depends what who what your team is. If you’re Wolves, who’d you want? Holland. If you’re Arsenal, who’d you want? I’m ready. Harland definitely. That’s the bottom and top teams. I think for one game I’m having Harland. I think for one game I know over the course of a season Harland would score more than Tierry Henry, but in a team where Thierry Henry works, they would be a better machine. Don’t forget, right, Henry had a season where he assisted 20 times. Yeah. Like Harland hasn’t got that in him as well. Like as a game winner, Harland is your game winner, but he’ll score you 40 goals a season. Yeah, that’s that’s better than 20 assist. When he goes through when he goes through just go, you just get goal. You just know. Could have got his hat yesterday. Should have got his as well. I’d have got an assist for Hey, that was the best bit I thought of the whole afternoon when he did his interview. Let’s talk about Pep’s subbed you off again. He said, “Look, don’t worry about that. I’ll speak with Pep, but what about all these fantasy managers?” Failed again. It’s true, mate. I did you were you watching it and I think they said the stat was something like he’s been subbed off 12 times when he’s on a hattick or or something ridiculous like that. It’s I like I don’t mind that though to be fair like because sometimes strikers when they’re on that second goal they can get a bit greedy then they can get a bit greedy and do what’s best for them to try and get that hatrick whereas you need somebody playing from the from the get-go the same way all the way through. So if the chance comes and you need to square it to somebody, square it to them. But when you’re on that two goals, you’re gonna snap. But most people don’t have a chance to get a hat-tick every week like he does. Yeah, that’s true. Do you reckon Do you reckon um do you reckon City will like they found their found finding their rhythm now? They’re a little bit inconsistent because I think in fairness, I like it though. I enjoy watching this City now where they are because like what I said teams now they’re they’re willing to give it a go and so it’s not just a boring sort of just watch Man City try and break this team down. It’s an actual game and even before the Bournemouth game, you know how Bournemouth playing, they’ll give it a go and I like Bournemouth because of that and I value for Bournemouth. They had chances in the game as well. Um, but yeah, I just think they’re a little bit inconsistent whereas Arsenal are just almost like boringly good. You know what? I I think Arsenal this season they’ve they’re clearly a very very good football team, but I think they’ve struck it well this season in that all of the other teams are a bit inconsistent. Bit inconsistent. Well, it falls into their hands, doesn’t it? like you’re watching the game on Sunday or yesterday. So like they get one nil up city and then obviously I always think they are quite vulnerable at set plays. I don’t know why I think that they would still have set piece coaches and all these things but I think that Pep puts more emphasis on other facets of the game. Um so when you get a corner against I always think you could have a chance against them but like the big man in goal you’d want a foul if you’re either the goalie or the goalie coach or set piece coach. cannot believe I cannot believe after going to V that this goal still. No way. I I disagree with you. Oh my. I disagree with you. Explain your point. So if you’re a defender, right, and I know goalkeepers need their arms and they’re allowed to use their arms. That’s a big part of the game having two arms. It’s quite handy, isn’t it? Quite handy. But you know if if you’re if you’re a defender and you you’re like Gabrielle, just use Gabrielle as example center. People just go around there, grab him, pull him away. What’s the difference between that? Because they’re letting go. The goalie needs their arms. I know, but he had his arm and he and he let himself down with his punch. No, no, no. He let himself Do you know why he let himself down with a punch? Actually, because as he’s about to take off to go for it, when you get that little yank there. Yeah. As soon as you’re about to take off, if somebody gives you a little pull like that, everything’s offkilter. It’s like when it’s like when you go for a header though, as a center half, as you’re going for a header, you get a little nudge. Yeah. But you you’re accounting for it. You’re going for that as a goalie when you’re pushing off and you’re going with your arms. Yeah. Somebody moves you even that much there. That’s the difference between getting that full contact on it and then only brushing it like Donna Ramadan. And you can easily see like the V video is so clear. The pictures I it’s so clear. You you don’t you can always argue that at this physicality he’s got he could be stronger and all that. And I’m probably not going to disagree with that. But if I cut it back to the actual still image of it and actually when I saw it live and I seen him on him I thought you’re going to give a foul away because it has to be a foul. Yeah. It has to it has to be about simple. I just think the overp protection of keepers is probably not two [ __ ] hands. If you’ve only got one, you’re never going to stick the gloves on. Honestly, you got no You cannot touch a goalie’s arms or hands. You can’t. It’s just You’re backing up the wrong track. Well, I’ve got two v one here. But no, I just think this there’s a time when he let go. He’s he’s let go. So, it’s it’s enough time to And I understand your taken off there, though. He was already just about to take off, right? And what it does as well is when he pulls him a little bit, the the the who was it the Tyler? Adam. No, Adam scored it. Who was it that was holding him? Was it Brooks? Brooks Brooks. When he when he actually got hold of his arm, Donn Rum is just about to take off. And what it makes Donn Rum do is actually take off a bit sooner than what he wanted to because he’s thinking, “Oh god, I’ve got to just try and get something on this.” So, can he not flap his hand at that then? Instead of trying to punch it, can he not adapt quickly and just flap his hand away and push it away? He could have done. He could, but it is like he still makes a mess of it. Look, let let’s be honest. But because he knows he’s tied in here, he’s preset in his mind. And that’s where he’s let himself down because he’s tight here. He’s made the decision. I’ve only got my right hand free and I’m punching. What he could have done at that point is help change open the hand up. That whole element of the game is only happening because of what Brooks did to him. And uh I they don’t only score because of that though because the keeper still has a chance to change his mind. Yes, he did. He still did have a chance. But I just think when you see normally the still VR image of that it’s like when you see that there’s a tackle this weekend and I thought it could have been a red card when you bentanker was on re and I thought like when you see a still of that I think that’s the same and you see it and you think it has to be a possible one. Should we go into Tottenham quickly? Should we go into Tottenham Chelsea? Because I I think I agree with you what I think that’s in this day and age it’s a it’s a red card that it’s a bit of a naughty one. He’s missed the ball completely. Rhys James has won the ball and he’s fully gone into I don’t there’s no like listen if that tackle’s on me I’m fuming because you could break my leg there but there’s no force in it. He’s genuinely tried to play the ball. So it’s one of them orange cards. The thing is if you try and play the ball but you get it massively wrong. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s still a red card. If it gives a red, you’re not arguing it, are you? No, you’re not arguing. I wouldn’t argue whatsoever. That’s the point, isn’t it? You will not argue that if it’s a red card. Like the game’s really quick now in it. I mean we just talked about Ireland about City. the game’s so quick the way they play and you are going to miss time tackles. So you don’t want to see like ninev9 matches but in an instance like that I was surprised he didn’t get a red card I have to be honest. What do you think about Spurs then Fuzzy cuz it’s like still early days under Thomas Frank should should they kind of be worried because they could have got absolutely battered. They they should have got absolutely battered. I looked on um live score as you know xG and again I’m I’m not a massive fan of it but I understand it at least the xG in this game Spurs were 0.04 04 was it? The numbers were and Chelsea were 2.96. That just tells you everything you need to know. But I think Spurs at home have got a massive problem. Absolutely massive problem. They’re set up better to play away from home where teams are going to come out a little bit more. But at home they’re really struggling. I was listening to talk sport all morning and you had so many Spurs fans ringing in basically saying that the reason why why we are where we are is because we haven’t got enough good players. It’s as simple as that. We’re filled with okay player. We spent a lot of money on players in the summer that just aren’t good enough. Even looking at Odar um Matias Tel 30 odd million for Matias Jav Simmons honestly Javi Simmons 67 million quid my mates a Spurs season holder he was like he was like he’s nowhere near that kind of money but even Matias T 30 million quid end of last season he was on loan I was thinking there’s no way they’re going to make this permanent I thought the same there is no way on this earth they can make this permanent and 30 million quid you can get a proper player for 30 million quid but we’d all agree on here that we think Thomas Frank’s a really good manager so if if you keep talking about Spurs and where the problems lie. Then is it the recruitment process? Are they not giving Thomas Frank at this point the tools that gives him a chance? Because I believe like what he’s done at Brenford and the way he’s worked and Luke and I were talking before like is he getting a say in the recruitment process. It’s a different that’s a big thing. It’s a different job at Spurs to having a job at Brenford or Bournemouth. You’ll be so in on right at Bournemouth. You look at the way he’s done recruitment. You know for a fact he’s had a massive say on all of these players, right? If he went and got the Spurs job, for example, Yeah. he’s not he’s not being allowed the same opportunities. He can’t manage in the same way because he can’t bring his players in. Therefore, he’s not as effective at his job. And I feel the same as that. What I feel like Thomas Frank is having his arms put behind his back a little bit and going there. No, these are the players that you’ve got to work with. He’s relying on he’s relying on someone else to be good at their job, isn’t he? But also, he’s good at his job. He’s very good at He is very good. But at Brenford, you can get a lot more wrong than you can at Spurs. So like you can sign a few players there risks to sell on whereas at Tottenham you can get it. You’re almost after the end product. Do you think you’ll get it right toes? I I think it depends what right is for Tottenham. That’s what I was going to ask you. What is right for Tottenham? Let’s be honest. Well, winning a trophy top four this season. Top four. Do we think top four is them getting it right? Last season Spurs finished 17th. Yeah. They are now currently fifth in the Premier League. Right. And I’m listening to the Spurs fans calling this morning saying this is a disgrace. This is they were winning or losing 4-3 last year, weren’t they? So, it was exciting last year. 4-3 either way. That was too conservative this year. But this is the this is how this is where football is nowadays. You can’t Arsenal top. They got their best players fit now as well. Whereas, let’s be honest at an he didn’t have a more fit for most of the season. You’re sitting top top four. I I genuinely believe if Spurs finish top six, it’s a good season and have and have a reasonable cup run, that’s where Spurs are. But it goes to show like performances are everything though, right? if you’re playing really good football but not quite you can go yeah you know what though we’re playing good football but I think the Spurs fans especially at home are watching it and thinking yeah this ain’t great this this ain’t great and when you’re especially against Chelsea as well and the fact that these Chelsea fans are going to be three-point lane this and just getting into them all the time it joked about it at the start that is a bit of an issue I think this Jed Spence and the Van I think that is a bit so on match of the day um on Saturday night you had um Ashley Williams and you had Alan Sherer and Alan Shar has said, um, I don’t think it’s much of a problem. And then Ashley Williams actually fully agreed with him. What do you think? Totally disagree. Yeah, I think there is an issue there. Not Not even the fact that they haven’t gone over and clapped the fans. Like, let’s be honest, they should all go around and clap the fans. But when your manager’s going up to you telling you to go and do it or even trying to acknowledge you and then Jed Spence’s body language with his arms or I think he flails an arm up or whatever. And and I’m thinking they’re not only ignored him, they’ve not only then not walked around the pitch and clapped, they’re also gesturing away. headed you straight into Is it that big? Is it that big a deal? Right. My question would be to that without trying to heart back to yesterday year, right? If two players did that to Ferguson, to Klopp, to Dich, let’s say it would I think it’s a big problem. Massive problem. Massive. Totally respect. Pure respect. It’s pure lack of respect. What they’re doing is lack of respect to the manager, to the team, and to the fans. The fans see that and they think you little pricks. I promise you they do. They see that and they think you little pricks. We we have worked all week for this. We’re looking forward to this massive derby, right? And this is how you perform for one, but then two walk off. But this is a tester for Thomas Frank because we spoke about this WT last season uh when he came in. This is a tester for him because we said about the how will he be with the egos? Is he is he too nice? Because I think he played it down in the press. You know what it does though? It shows that there’s no real leaders in that team then, right? If you’ve got a real leader in that team, the the big captain, he goes over and he goes, “Whoa, whoa, no, no chance. We are all kind of meant to be one of them.” You don’t even need the manager to be able to do that. You need your captain going, “No, we’re doing this. All right. This is a given.” Even if the fans have booed you through the game. Yeah. You put your shoulders back and you go, “Thanks everybody. We’ll get better next week.” You see, that’s a cultural difference from being at Brenford when he was the leader, Thomas Frank. And it would have been ingrained in all the new players that come, we whatever the result at home or away really, we’re going around the it’s not away you go around the stadium, but at home we’re going around the stadium and we’re clapping them. It does not matter what’s happened. But you get to Spurs and it’s the bigger egos, the characters, whether they’ve won or lost. And it’s not a great look. I I have to say that. And I think more than anything I think it affects how Thomas then deals with that group of He’s kind of Didn’t he play it down a little bit in his press? Of course he got to Has he? Yeah, he has to has to. Yeah, you can’t. You can’t to try and keep a bit of harmony in the I would love to have seen him go, “No, I’m not having that. I’m fuming.” There’s a difference between telling your players that that’s wrong and then telling the world that’s wrong. That’s just completely I would have thought in the dressing room. Sorry. I would have thought in the dressing room that he would have been absolutely raging at how they’d played the result and everything else. But the first words that would have come out of of his lips were you two that is a Can you imagine him doing that? I think he has to do as manager. Is he got to I I think he has to do at that point and say look I’ll take some responsibility for the tactics or whatever. I’ve picked the team, but this is what we do here and we’re going to try and create a culture and an atmosphere around the team that we’re all together. I was quite surprised on match of the day when they played it down. I can’t lie. I couldn’t believe it. I really couldn’t. I thought Ashley has to disagree with them here. Having been in changing rooms and seeing that happen and I’ve seen it happen a few times and honestly it’s like the rumoring starts and you get into the changing rooms, you go, do you see the way they reacted with the manager there? Do you see the way they just walked past him? What it does is it makes everybody just think, “God, does this has this manager got this team then? Is he is he in control of this?” There’s like a lack of togetherness, isn’t there? A couple weeks ago, right, I saw a Tottenham member of staff and I said to him, “Oh, are you guys just out of interest?” I didn’t want to know any figures what said, “Are you guys on the win bonus?” And he said, “No, no, we’re not. We don’t get any win bonus.” I thought, well, for me, if you want everyone together, I don’t know about you, cuz you’ve been on the staff, you don’t just have like just your first team staff on the win bonus. You have your kit men, you have everyone analysis, everyone on the win bonus because it kind of brings it togetherness and this is a lack of togetherness in my eyes. All of it if you’ve got no one coming, you know, cuz the kit man for example or member of staff or whatever, they’re not going to put their arm around them and say things to them. They’re going to be like, you know, stuff you Yeah, it’s not good. It’s not good for Spurs. Um, right. Where should we go? Should we go for a bit of Arsenal? Liverpool. Liverpool. Liverpool. Let’s go Liverpool. Yeah, I actually quite enjoyed this game to be fair. It was It was It’s Emy’s had a stinker. Emy’s had a stinker. I totally agree. Um it you know what it did though? It made me kind of realize now that Liverpool just aren’t what Liverpool were because this game especially in the first half was so it could have swung either way. Morgan Rogers absolutely pummeled the post but they had chances and Villa were happy attacking um not really worrying too much about sort of having Liverpool kind of counter. It was a really open game and I’m thinking if this was last season you know Liverpool are on the front foot and they’re steamrollering and they’re not in that place at the minute. You’re not playing out the way that Villa played out against Liverpool. No chance. Are you mate? Gosh, no. They were they were uncharacteristically sloppy, weren’t they, Villa? Yeah, look, it’s the timing of it as well, isn’t it? They’ve done so well in the first half and it actually were a more open game than I anticipated because I thought Emry would have just like tried to suck him in a little bit, which is probably where the goal comes from. But it’s the timing of the goal that kills you. It’s so poor from Emmy on the pass cuz he’s normally Well, look, he was still in control. He’s just misplaced the pass, hasn’t he? And the one time first half. Yeah. Yeah. And the one player you don’t want to put it to is Salarin. Can we say what a finish by the way? Unbelievable finish on his right foot. That finish is phenomenal to it looks like. And even the commentator said, “Oh, it’s an easy finish.” No way. There’s no way this an easy finish that he’s had on him under the pressure. First time ball like there’s a defender in the way. The goalie is scrambling to get back in. I thought Emmy thought because it’s seen it. It’s him and he’s on his right foot. He’s gone for the jump for the pass inside. He thought the defender was going to stop this. He said, “If he tries a clever pass, I’m going to save the day here.” But yeah, it would have the defender could have done a bit more. Maybe tried a bit more. Yeah, I agree. But I just think he’s took everybody’s surprise with the quick early finish. But fantastic finish. But again, if from Emmy will be gutted. He’d be absolutely gutted. But it’s just moments, isn’t it, lads? Moments like that, it just goes to show they can really twist games. That was Salah’s 250th goal for Liverpool. How many seasons? Um, do we know? Don’t know. I’m going for nine. 9 8 9 10 Yeah, I think he’s gone. Question question for you. We can’t I I don’t always like going back to the Hansen’s, the ones that were like before our time or whatever. Is he the greatest Liverpool player of the modern era since the Premier League, let’s say. So, who’s he competing with? Gerard Gerard, obviously that’s that’s the main Gerard Suarez. Torres, people would disagree with Torres. You know what? I guarantee you it’s really bias, right? I reckon if you’d have asked the question last season when he’s flying they’d say he’s he’s up there in the top two probably. But he’s won more than Gerard for that club. Oh, definitely. Yeah. I’d have to say he is probably the best. Yeah. I think there is love Gerard loved him. There is that bias of cuz he’s currently playing maybe he doesn’t get as fondly looked at as a Gerard. But there you can say that for like Jordan Henderson. Jordan Henderson as Liverpool captain won more as Liverpool captain than what Steven Gerard did. Yeah, good, good point. Yeah. And and by by the way, we did a podcast with um Alex Ox Chamberlain, didn’t we? Last week, and there’s a chat in there about Jordan Henderson. Oh my. It’s out this Thursday. Out this Thursday. This Thursday on the FOcast. Oh my god. Unbelievable. It was unbelievable. Ox Jameson’s the boy, by the way, but how we spoke about Jordan Jordan Henderson. Um it’s a really good question. I think you’ve got to put Moal I can’t I wouldn’t like to go and say yes, he is, but I I think he’s definitely in the top two. Him and Gerard. Him and Gerard. Yeah. It’s unquestionable, isn’t it? But Gerard used to win games. Yeah. Used to grab a game by the scruff of the neck, didn’t he? Oh, he did. Yeah. Them finals, that semiinal. The moments, most moments, moments. Just didn’t do it long enough. They’ve all had the moments. But that might Good question. The way Liverpool got through that game, it might just kickstart them a little bit. It’ll give them some confidence because the two goals really come out of nothing. Is it is that that problem at the minute? Confidence. What? it look. Yeah. Look, we’re all human beings in we and they have a great team and ultimately a great manager and all these things around them, but confidence when it’s low, it’s low and you need something to get you over the line. They wouldn’t have been going into that game looking forward to playing Villa at home. No, no, 100%. So all they would have and it’s strange in football because you want to love the 90 minutes or 100 minutes but before that game kicked off I’m telling you they would have been imagining just walking off how he however they’d got over the line three points because that’s what they needed. So they got a little gimme to get them on the way. The other question I wanted to ask you is is around Graven Burch. So, he’s obviously highly rated, but I was thinking yesterday, I was thinking, is he is he spoken about highly enough? No, he hasn’t done it long enough just yet. No, no, no, but I’m talking about impact in a team. People are going about Rodri and Man City. Fantastic. Yeah, he’s brilliant. And he’s and he will in another in another year or two, I reckon we’ll be talking about him like that. We will be talking about him as one of the best in the world in that position. Brilliant. Absolutely. But I think just for now, obviously fantastic last season, but then this season sort of little bit of a drop off, but that mirrors the team’s kind of drop off as well, doesn’t it? But he’s right up there, mate. He is. He’s got he’s a threat in every department. He can do everything. Well, they they needed that. They’ve got City next weekend. I mean, Arsenal will just be rubbing their hands with them. Real Madrid in the Champions League as well. So, Arsenal are thinking just keep going, boys. And you two share the spoils next. Should we talk about Arsenal then? Yeah, get on. Well, we’ve got a bit to talk about today to be fair cuz um Wolves sack the manager. Um they are stinking. Um there’s not much to talk about, mate. That’s it. You’ve summarized it. Man United. Um Drew Tubal. Um the guy with the long hair United strand guy is going to have to wait another couple. He might have to wait another year or two really to be honest. He’s having a nice talking of nice air. Um Victor Jockerz 2-0 Arsenal. It was kind of just run-of-the-mill, weren’t it really? It was just brilliant. Yeah. Yeah. I one question I got out of this, so I was talking to my mates in a group chat was I believe Rice can get in any midfield in the world. Oh, I like that question. What do you think? Um, I don’t watch enough European football. No, I mean, look, it’s a hard one to question. On the surface of it, you’d say sure. I mean, he’s got everything. Could Declan Rice get into any team in the world? In the world. I’m saying yes. Even if you look at like at the moment Chelsea, Liverpool, their midfields definitely cities at the moment. But if you’re looking at Chelsea’s midfield, they got Enzo, Kaiso, and this weekend they play Bruce James. Yeah. He so he plays Liverpool Liverpool definitely Gra got grabbers has been ridiculous this season by the way Graham Burch Shobers and Mallister he plays ahead of Gran Burch you just you’re asking if he’s good enough yet Declan Rice is there he’s been doing it for four or five years yeah it’s a good it’s a good point it’s no slight on Gran Burch but I think probably just for everything he offers we we don’t even account set pieces here by the way like set pieces Dean Rice what he’s become the man on the board he’s become the absolute man like he’s adding assists he’s adding goals now as There was a clip in this game, right? So Declan Rice takes the corner, they get counterattacked in the 90th minute, I think it is, and he sprints back to his goal. Whereas for the goal when Arsenal scored on the counterattack, Carl Walker takes a long throw, which I love. He takes a long throw and just jogs back. Just join the difference between obviously Carl Walker would have had to do that city, but Declan Rice is doing that in the 90s. I like it. Get in the comments. Get in the comments, you lot, please, because um I’m not sure. I think you might be right. Do you know I I always thought of Declan Rice is is he was almost had the the restraints on the shackles on a little bit when he was asked to play deep and and that was it. But now I I’ve I’ve thought for the last couple of seasons if he can just start upping that goal tally a bit that conversation’s but he’s doing the defending as well. He’s adding that into it. How good was he? People are going to argue about Real Madrid last year. He was unbelievable against Real Madrid. Their midfield PSG I know they lost but he was unbelievable against PSG as well. and their midfield was frightening last year. So interesting to see what Thomas Tel does with him, you know, in terms of the shape of England because if he can do what he’s doing now with Arsenal, you know, it’s almost a nightmare for him though cuz Jude Bellingham’s back on form. Jude Bellingham’s back. Bellingham can do everything that Rice can do, right? But he doesn’t whereas Rice does it. Does that make sense? Yeah, I know what you mean. Yeah. Why doesn’t he do it? Why doesn’t Bellingham do what Declan Rice does if he can do it? Yeah. Mentality, isn’t it? He just he just switches off sometimes. Yeah. Just it just maybe I don’t know. I don’t know the guy, but maybe it’s just a fact that he wants to go and do the nice things rather than the ugly the ugly gritty things that don’t really get noticed so much. Well, they look like they’re the real deal this year, don’t they? And I think Rice has epitomized what Arsenal are. I mean, they’ve got so many leaders in that. We spoke at the start of this season about Liverpool’s leaders. I think Arsenal have got a real group of of leaders in that team and he’s driving it on. And look, the holy grail for them is to win the Premier League, isn’t it? You know, they’ve waited so so long. And the Med, I wouldn’t say easy work of it, but they got 2-0 up and we’re in real control of the game. And because they’ve got such a defensive structure, it’s going to be very, very difficult to beat them. I was listening to the radio the day and someone was saying, “Ah, you I don’t like all this um, you know, set piece FC and it’s like a throwback to the 80s.” And I was like, “No, I’m not having that.” I did. It’s about winning football games. And you look at their two goals. Yes, you’ve got a a set play, but the other one was unbelievable footballing goal. How many goals have Arsenal conceded this season? Two. Three or something? I’m guessing two. I would say four. Three. Oh, Dreer in the Was that So, Harland, and one other Oh, that’ll be a good one. Who’s the other one? Who’s the final one? Can’t think that Harland one. Yeah. And um Newcastle. Newcastle. Wait there. Who’s it? Who’s the header? Volto. Volto. Yeah. In the six hour box. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Voli. Yeah. It’s good. It’s good. Well done. Clean sheets. That record that record on its own will tell you they’re going to have an unbelievable chance. An unbelievable. But the thing is, people moan about set pieces stuff. Everyone can do it. Yeah. You’re entitled to do it as a coach, as a team. You You’re in control. You can be better at set pieces. You’re just choosing not to. I spoke to a goalie uh yesterday actually who’s a very very big championship team who would expect to get up this year and they will touch on an element of set plays every day in train. Mhm. Whereas it used to just be a Friday thing. Do you know why I think set plays have become a massive thing now and everybody’s kind of switched on to it? Because I think the every team now is so fit. Every player is so fit. Athletes big. They’re all athletes. It is so hard. Do you remember when Michael Owen said, and it was it was a brilliant statement. He said, “It’s so much harder to score a goal.” Yeah. Than Yeah. being able to stop a goal. Being able to stop a goal is an awful lot easier than actually being able to score a goal. Plus, everybody is so much quicker and bigger and stronger and organized now, right? So, you need to rely on the set pieces. You have to rely on them because outplaying teams and out work, everybody gets back in now. Everybody defends. So you your best chance of scoring I think they’ve gone up now set pieces this season it’s like 28%. 28% of goals are scored from set pieces now up from 20% last season and even that was up from the season before. So it’s just unbelievable touching on set pieces. Didn’t Palace admit as well they played Jefferson Lurma purely because he got the long throw and they scored directly from it as well. You could come out of retirement mate mate. You could need a long throw goalkeeper coach. Yeah I got a new hip now. So you’re all right. But it’s interesting because I watch a lot of football now. I go to two or three games a week and there’s a lot of teams even practice set plays. Not the attacking routines for sure, but they practice the defensive structure in the warm-up of a match. Yeah, that never used to be a thing. Never used to be a thing. And they’re not embarrassed to give it away so the opposition can watch it. They believe in their structures and doing the actions. It’s incredible. Now, um before we go to Man United Wolves, mate, um two points from 10 games. Uh they are now f well they were always favorites but one to five they are to get relegated 14 genuinely there’s there’s there’s not an awful lot to say other than you watch it and you just I said exactly the same last week that the lack of quality in the team is so obvious to see and you look at like Strand Lson for example he’s on crumbs that nothing’s going to and that’s something miraculous happens in January forest have had more managers than BS have got points. Have to take this. Tom, don’t don’t bite on that one, mate. You No, mate. I I I I don’t know. Like again, my lad was kicking off at going mad at the weekend. We’re watching the goals rattling in and you’re like, there’s just nothing. Hey, I I got a speeding fine the other day. I got more points this season than how bad it is. So, so do you think there’s any chance they’re staying up? Nah, don’t ski. No. Do you know I I honestly right now I I don’t. No, but who would want that job? Look, we all want Carrick, weren’t they? We’d all want to be a Premier League manager. You take O’Neal over Carrick, wouldn’t you? Take O’Neal. I’m not sure it’s gone south. No, Gary, I’m not sure I would. You take him as well. I don’t know cuz he’s been there and done it. And um so he just signed a new three-year deal early in the season. Yeah. Apparently, they’ve got it in the contract where they they’ll only have to pay him a year’s money. Um so that basically tells us all we need to know. The reason why he signed this new contract was that the club wanted to probably get this clause in there. They’d have bumped his money up a bit, but said, “Listen, if we do give you the chop, then you’re only going to get in one year’s money.” And it probably suits everybody in that world. I don’t I don’t know who who would go in. I I genuinely don’t know. Yeah, it’s tough with that team and like the the different nationalities you’ve got to pull together. What do they need? What sort of manager they need? They need a a Sha Dish, which is obviously not available because a manager with energy and ideas. whatever manager would probably play a formation and a team that suits their style, but I don’t even know what their style like Stron you talked about him and he seems like he’s a good player, but apparently got his head turned in the summer and he’s been on a bit of a st all season that you don’t need players like that. The difference is the difference is when you talk about players like someone like Shawn D going into Forest and it’s about shoring them up and everything else. It’s not about shoring Wolves up. It’s about going and winning football games and scoring goals and that changes the the profile of manager that you look to and bear in mind as well Fulham were Fulham were fourth bottom going into this game. Walter bottom Fen were fourth bottom and F are a good team. We know that anyway that that’s no but that that one my thought the fourth bottom surprises me and and they probably shouldn’t be cuz I think he’s a great manager and they’ve got a good team but they’re fourth bottom and you go down like that with a whimper and it’s very very difficult to catch the teams above you from now. Lovely um lovely finish from Harry Wilson. Oh, w so Marco Silva like touch on Marco Silva like what what does he do cuz like Fulham are going to finish every year now somewhere between ninth and 15th aren’t they? Yeah. Yes. They’re a good Premier League team. They’re a good solid Premier League team. So does does he need to move to progress his career? Is there a I’m just looking I’m looking here at some like at the Premier League table. I’m just trying to think what sort of team Marco Silva could like go to and mate it’s hard. He’s been where where he’s been Everton. He’s been at Everton Hallford. Yes. He’s been at them places. So he he jump ship. Didn’t need to go to Everton. Didn’t work out. But now he’s found a home at Fulham. It’s almost like you know just just stick with it unless turn. They are they are a good team. Like we said last week that the level of managers in the league is so high now is that where does he he’s a sort of guy that if ever like Unai Emory left Villa like Villa would be a good little fit for him wouldn’t it? You can see that as a bit of a progression but I can’t see you Emory wanting to jump ship anywhere and even Villa trying to let go of him. So you got two other managers that are up and is he up in the summer Marcus? I think he isn’t you got him and Glasnner. They all all three of them up. That’s three good managers. A yes. It is. Next up, United. One year since Amarim took charge at United. What’s your summary so far? Um, a lot of very good recent improvement, but still, um, I still think they’re a top eight team in the Premier League. I don’t think they’ll finish any higher than top eight. It will be around there, won’t we? That would be based on last year. That would be a good That’s a massive progression, but still man, isn’t it? I I would only put it down like my school report that they every time I got one must do better and stop harassing the girls. Can we have a moment Can we have a moment of like sorrow and sad reflection for that United Strong guy though cuz his air is an absolute gig he’s got with Patty Pal. Yeah, of course. Yeah, he’s buzzing. I reckon for him Yeah. Man United draw in this game. He’s gone, get in there, you beauty. I still get to make money on the internet for another year at least because it’s going to be probably another year until they win five in a row. It’s a big ass to win five in a row at the best of times, isn’t it? But for Man United, um but like fair play to Forest, they needed to get something from this game as well. One nil down, bringing it back to 2-1. Um the goal United scored as well, by the way. Didn’t even go out for a corner. It did not as as Forest, right, just get over it. It’s it’s the the corner’s been given. Get over it. He last week as well. I know they I know, but that’s that’s just the way it is. It’s not it’s not personal, you know, they they’ve had a corner given against them. You got to deal with the corner. You didn’t deal with you like after the game because Dai came out like it must be really frustrating. I think I think what he means is right when the ball doesn’t go out for a when it when it goes in that moment in that moment, right, you’ve got to and it’s really hard because emotions run high and you get you get really annoyed with it, but you have to just switch back on. You have to forget it. Stop wasting all this emotional energy on being annoyed. Yeah. And focus on what’s in on hand. Because the the way that the ball just drops to Casemir is criminal. Right there in the middle. You can’t have a free header from five yards out with nobody challenging you, can you? If a player makes a mistake in a game, what do you have to do? Just get on with it. Get over with literally a decision that’s been made against you. You’re going to get loads in a game. Get over it. I think D should be absolutely spewing at the two goals they give away. They look really vulnerable at set plays. So if you if you’re going to be not so good at them, don’t get up like you said about the ball going out. Let’s refocus cuz it’s a free header. And I think I don’t know who it is on the edge of the box when Dio puts the volley in, but like I used to have one guy there. Get up tighter, be brave like it’s a massive three points if they can get it. So I think Daiishi will reflect on the setup and the bravery of some of his personnel, but it’s a step in the right direction for Forest for sure. Um, United probably on what I saw were a better team and should have probably won the game. They they were very unlucky. Still was good character for Manu to come back at the Grand Hull. Um, when it rolls down is harsh if it’s given. Yeah, not really. But not for me. But but I I just think But you don’t know, do you? That’s what I mean. It could be like any other any other in another day in another game. It could be down. It could be. Yeah. So why again we we talk about V and all that, but somebody decided it wasn’t, but on another day somebody could decide it would be. Are we talking less about V this year though, do you think? No. This week. This week. Maybe this week. Yeah, this week. Maybe this week. But we talked about it here because if if V is going to be implemented like they want it to, then you can’t get decisions wrong like the ball not Yeah. Yeah, but this is the issue, isn’t it? Cuz like someone’s saying 70 yards, the lino’s on the other side and he’s going, “Is it out? Is it?” And you go, “The techn is there.” But we can’t bring it in for that. The game’s going to go on for four hours. How many times does the ball do that in a game down the touch line? The linesman always just airs on the side of caution and goes, “Yeah, throw in.” Like, you know, as well that ball’s like is more than that in. And but you’re going to start going back to you’re going to start doing that as well. Now, Vieago, now it was a throw. That was my biggest pet as a member of a coaching staff when the ball goes out in front of the technical area and it really don’t matter to be perfectly honest and the both benches had gone [ __ ] crazy at the fourth official and the ref for a throw in. You know what I mean? Do you know what it is though? It’s it’s basically it’s theatrics. Yeah. It’s to try and get like it’s isn’t it? It’s to try and get that. It’s trying to get another one wrong for our team. You got another one wrong for our team. Ow. Maybe give us one in a future on the grassroots mate. Happened yesterday with the lads football game. Oh my god. All I know was being called a cheat and also that actually happened the other day of my little boys under eights game. Honestly, unbelievable. The ball the ball’s like just going out of play and like you think the they haven’t got linesman and like you’re just thinking just just get on with it. Let the ball be in play please. Like let them have let him play. You weren’t kicking off. Oh no. But there’s there was a situation as well like one of our one of our dads the ball went out of play and we were winning and I was actually still on my crutches at the time and one of our boys went to get it and they went no no no don’t get the ball from him. I’m thinking it’s under eight time wasting. Come on give him the ball too much football. Oh seriously under eight just get the ball back in play. And then we had another situation in the summer where a granddad had the ball next to him and he didn’t kick the ball. He just left the ball next to him. It was a final of a tournament. I think come on let them play. Let the kids play. Unreal. Right. Um, let’s keep it moving you lot. We’ve got a few more to go and then obviously the quiz. It’s going to be a good quiz today, lads. It’s going to be a good quiz today. Got a full ass, haven’t we? Who else have we got? Well bet for England. Well bet for England, mate. I know we said it a few weeks ago that he’s probably too old and he won’t get selected and he’s probably too old and he won’t get selected, but if he keeps scoring week in week out, the question has to be asked. Would you select him? All right, then Harry Kane starting up top. Who’s covering for Harry Kane? Who’s who who’s next on the list? Who’s two and three? Who’s two and three on the list behind Harry Kane? I can’t think honestly. It has to be Wellbeck, don’t it? We spoke about spoke about Wilson Wilson before or obviously Watkins is a shoe in Watkins and then I think where we’d been before. We were talking about Wilson or Wellbeck type. Well, in the last year when we were at the Euros and stuff, we’ve had Watkins, Tony, and Salanki were the three, weren’t they? Really, that that have been in the conversation for the last year or two. Oh. None of it was scoring. I’d have him. Well, he’s a great lad and you know that it would be good, right, that the manager did it and picked him because it then shows that if you are playing well and you’re in form and you’re scoring goals and you’re doing what you need to do in the Premier League, then you’ve got a chance to get Well, I think he will because I think he will cuz unlike Southgate, Tukul doesn’t really give a [ __ ] about the next cycle. He’s here to win the World Cup. So, so you would think that he will go, do you know what? I will take the best players that are playing. I’d love to see. It’s the whole package with Wellbeck, isn’t it? He’s such a good guy as well. I mean, he’s having his second best se best season ever. Yeah. As a as a player in the in the Premier League. He presses. How many guys? I think he’s honest. Six for the season. Danny Well, best start ever, isn’t it? Boy, but but he’s showing some real energy with and without the ball. I mean, you spoke about the rice and the running and all this stuff. I think there was a clip that I saw of the Brighton stuff where he were back in his own box and but I think they’re managing him really well in the week and knowing what he has to do and it’s all full on Jamie Jamie’s trying to pull up Ivan St. Ivan, Tony, Jamie, what’s it got? 28 and 37. Come on, Jay. In fairness, that’s some goalc scoring record. Oh, come on. That is unreal. By the way, you can’t you can’t knock that. Jamie scoring 30 and 37. Nah, mate. It’s a good It’s not a bad. So, the squad’s getting named this week then. So, Wellbeck or Tony, what we’re saying, I’d pick Wbeck only because he’s doing in the Premier League and it’s a better league. But, but Oh, that’s that’s surprising that J. I’m glad you brought that up. Where are Where are his team in the league? Big Ivan’s team. They’re about mid table, aren’t they? So, who’s he play for? Allah. The only benefit he has going into a tournament, Tony, is the penalties. Yeah, true that. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Good, good shot. And And you would be bringing him on later, wouldn’t you? With me penalties in mind. That’s a good shot. Either way, we want You’re thinking like a coach or what? We want to see Wellinia. We do, don’t we? Well, yeah. Well, right. Who else have we got? Um Yeah. So, it was a good win for um Brighton. Um there you just again with Brighton, I just don’t ever fully know what I’m going to get. I’d hate to if I was like doing accumulators and stuff like that, I’d steer well clear of Brighton. Well clear. Read read my little note at the top there. Top right. There no striker better than Jean Phillip Mateta. Yes. Six goals in 10 Premier League games. Same as Danny Wellbeck. By the way, I’ll tell you what though, that was a header. I know like you talk about a set piece coach, but it’s a two contact finish. I always think that deep free kick, but like that’s your dream as a set piece coach to nod it back and have somebody like Meta running on times his run to perfection and put his head. Seriously, the only way he can score that goal is by looping it up and he knows exactly how hard to head it and where to head it. And as soon as the goal he sees him head that, he thinks, “Oh, for most of the time the ball’s got like loads of pace on it, so it’s just a bit of a glance, a tiny glance.” Oh, he’s had to do all sorts with it. Yeah. Well, they they dubbed it the set piece game and they were right, but most would have thought it would have gone. How about a celebration? See a celebration every I wouldn’t go and do that. Six six in 10 for Mateta this season. He’s 27 years old. He’s been capped for France. So, does he We said last week, is he great or is he great for Palace? And you were like, he’s perfect for them. So, does he stay, extend the contract, more money? Yes. right? Become a Palace legend or what? When’s his contract up? I don’t know. I think either way, right, I think he he he’s perfect for Crystal Palace and we did even a few months ago we did. Could he sign for one of the big six? Yeah. Could he sign for a big team? And we went through the teams and it would have been no no European club. He could he could do. This is the conundrum though, isn’t it? If Glasnner leaves exactly, he’s going to probably wait for see what happens because Glasn’s getting the best out. What do you reckon the maximum Palace would pay a player would be? Oh, they’ll be able to pay him 150. Really? Yeah. Palace could pay that. Most Premier League teams could pay that now. They I reckon Zaha when he were there were on 150 easy, you reckon? Yes. Easy. So, if he was, let’s say, on between 130 and 150 Mata and give him a four-year deal. 150. Thank you very much. I’d worry a little bit about giving players like that because it’s he’s not a flash in the pan for sure. He’s done it. What do you mean players like that? I would worry about giving strikers who are can be streaky, giving them big deals. I would always worry about this. I do because you see the fall off sometimes. I’m a big because he’s never had the contract. Never had you got to keep him hungry, Tom. You got to keep him hungry. You do. And I I’m not a big fan of giving the them the big contract because you see it so many times that it softens you. And I don’t know if he is like that. I don’t know the guy. Yeah. If if you know the guy and you know what he’s built on and what he’s about, then you know whether it’s a safe bet or not. But I’ve just seen it so many times where soon as they get that money. Well, I tell you what, Palace wouldn’t want to lose him cuz if they lose him and Gay in the summer, that’s a big droplet and the manager. Yeah. Completely tear that team. You want to talk about what about what about their fixture list? Have you seen that? No. Palace. Palace. Palace in December. I think it’s from the 22nd of November to the 21st December are playing 10 games in 29 days. After complaining about the date for quarterfinal, bonkers. Oh, four games in 10 days have gone. Yeah, but 10 games in 29 days. It’s ridiculous. You look at it as two days between near Christmas, two days between a game, two days between a game, three days between a game. It’s it’s absolutely But that’s the kind of thing that will eventually catch up with them. But it would catch up with Before we before we move on from Palace quickly, um did you see that they announced that there’s only going to be one Boxing Day game this year? Yeah. Yeah, I saw that. Late late game, Luke. Fuming fuming. This is my first Boxing Day off and I don’t even get to watch football on Boxing Day. It’s an absolute shining. I’ll be in the pub. Don’t worry. M. It’s a load of bollocks is what it is. It is a load of bollocks. Is it? I I knew they actually I knew they’d do something like this. Yeah. It’s not a good game if you’re a Newcastle fan. I knew they’d do something like this. Or is it? Oh, look at that. It’s ridiculous. What we want is we want a full fixture list on Boxing Day. We want to have our leftover. So, what normally happens, is it? Yeah. We want to have our leftover Christmas dinner. Get on the red wine and have a knackka. Even if it’s seven games. Yeah. Give me seven games on Boxing Day. Give me three on the day after that. Yeah. So, we’ve got other games to watch. Put one at 12, one at 4, and one at 8. Yeah. So, you’ve got football all day. All day. I want to be watching football games all day long. But they’ve done one pathetic. Furious. And what is the reasoning? What is the reasoning? Hey, what is it? Money and TV. Money and TV. Bloody greed. Unbelievable. It’s a traditional tradition what we have to look at. Probably won’t even remember the game. It’s a night game. Probably would have had that many drinks. I’m sleep by then. 8:00. I’m I’m snoozing, mate. I’ve had too many chocolate and squeak mint balls and everything. W’s had too much tea in just getting in. Just getting back. When are we doing the [ __ ] show? Have you seen how spread out the pictures are? When are we going to do the football? We’ve got what have we got? Eight considerate of Sorry, eight on the 27th. So, I think the 28th we’ll do uh one on the 28th, won’t we? But then that’s the Sunday. We got to come in on a Sunday. We don’t work Sundays. Days don’t matter on Christmas Day, right? You don’t know what day it is. Exactly. Yeah. First Christmas off then. I know. Fuming. I’m actually fuming. I feel for you, mate. I feel for you. Right. Come on. Let’s go. Um, how many more games we got? Is that it? No, it’s just West Ham. Oh, that’s it. It’s just West Ham. Newcastle. Um, you watched it. We watched it. What did you say about Newcastle? Uh I thought they were very very poor. Um incredible that obviously Bowen at the post after two minutes and they went down the other end. But from that moment on you’re thinking West Ham are really vulnerable now. Come on, let’s go and if I’m Newcastle, let’s go and win the game. Um I thought they were really really poor. I was disappointed actually with Pope for the first goal. I think for his physicality, you just got to catch it. It’s actually a good punch. I wouldn’t I wouldn’t be technically wrong. Dip right at the end. I mean it did give the shot. You mean the shot? Sorry. A, catch the cross. Cross to start with. Yeah. But B, the shot. I do agree with you, Tom. It dips. But if you go and you cross your hand, so you’ve only got one surface. Massive surface. Be as big as you can here. And then we can have a little bit of movement either way. We did. How about the second one? Is the keeper thinking about the fact that he should have caught it when he’s got to make the save. Is he still thinking about it? Maybe. Maybe it’s in his head that he’s kind of like having to recover a little bit, get back in the shots coming in. But I I agree with what we’ll be so disappointed. We spoke to him on the podcast, didn’t we, about it about the the new Puma balls and even he said like they they do move a little bit more. They’re a bit they they’ll dip and they’ll schwaz a little bit more and you can see it does it dips like you said Tom just before it gets to him. But as a goalie, you know they’re going to do that. You do you know the ball’s going so you have to over overcompensate. You have to dive past it. You have to make sure you’ve got like what said big old surface and it it really it’ll be so disappointing but it’s it’s a mistake and everybody makes mistakes. Simple as that. Simple as that. But I agree though, Newcastle were miles away. Well, he tried he made three changes at Halime, didn’t he? He just tried to change it and get some momentum, the energy. But no, they were very very poor and it were obviously slightly concerning if Newcastle, but for Nuno, it’s his first win. Big win for you see when third goal go in how much he celebrated. The go the goalie coach nearly killed it with jumping. I tell you what though, if you’re a West Ham fan, you just pray that Jared Bowen doesn’t get injured without absolutely every day. embodies everything that the fan wants to see in a player. Agree. I totally agree. Um, and what is the bottom three looking like at the minute? Do you know what that does? Do you know what it does, right? It makes Burnley lead them teams that are down there go, “Ah, for God’s sake, we don’t need you. Start winning.” All right. Surprisingly, Everton 15th at the minute. That is gaming. Yeah. But you know what? They’ve had some tough They’ve had some tough fixtures, right? They have. They’ve had some tough fixtures. But all the news around Everton is they’ve had a good start to the season. Jackie Greish flying, but you know what I mean? They’re they’re 15th as it stands. Let me ask you one more before we go to the quiz might get shouted at here. Eddie how has he taken them as far as he can? I feel like this time last year we said the same thing and then what happened was they went and kicked on. Yeah, I think they got some really good players and I think he’s a good manager. So I would think that they they have got some more legs in them if I’m honest with you. Do you think do you think he could be the guy to establish them as a top four team and challenge for cups every year? Do you think he’s got that in the locker to have that consistency? He’s had a tough he had a tough summer before the start of this season which listen never going to be easy is it? You know better than anyone as recruitment and stuff but it it wasn’t it nothing went right in the summer did it but again signed the big man. Everyone’s saying he’s the best sign of the summer. didn’t have a great game yesterday. First half. No, he didn’t. Did he? So, yes, it’s tough. Yeah, it’s a good question. I think because I don’t know the answer to it. I don’t No, no. Because he won the cup last year, he’s going to get a lot of time, and I think he deserves time. He’s He’s transformed him already, hasn’t he? But the next bit is that real consistency to play in Europe, try and win trophies, and get top four. Yeah. And I’m not suggesting he shouldn’t. I just think it’s an interesting That midfield’s lost a bit of energy, though. Yeah. Normally they run all over the team. They have to they have to it’ be interesting to see how many minutes they’ve played cuz they do play a lot. I know came in last game and they signed both of them. They’ve both not been available for much of the season, have they? But Anthony Gordon looks good. He looks sharp. He looks really sharp. I like Jacob Murphy. I like seeing Jacob Murphy back and he just gives you everything he’s got. But I think I think sometimes you they’ve got a good manager. Just stick with your good manager. Do you know what I mean? Just stick with a good manager. Simple as that. Forest. Yeah, I know. I imagine that. Right. Um, quiz time, boys. We’re ready. Jamie, you ready? Let’s go, mate. Come on, Jiminy. [Music] Right, we’re back. Football filling quiz. Are you all ready for today? Ready, Jim. Are you ready? I’m always ready. Scores on the door. Tom, you’re on five. Wo, you’re on three. Salah wouldn't be able to captain that Liverpool 05 team from 3-0 down to come back and win against that Milan team. GERARD NO.1 LIVERPOOL PL player ever
Lads flip flops like mad last week Declan isn't world class. Lads what are ya's smoking in the green room before you record these 😂😂
Really a ace watch loved the quiz yesssiiii the boys
Rice doesn’t get near Chelsea’s midfield, he isn’t better than Palmer, Caicedo, or Enzo
Tom says how cool is AI. It’s destroying everything tom
Tom used to absolute smash the quiz every week until they realised he had access to the answers. He's been shit ever since. Funny that 😏
Edit: I posted this before today's quiz. He did alright today 😅
It was weak and amateurish of Donnarumma to have his arms down for one to be grabbed, a corner coming in, if as the goalie you have your arms up set how you should on a corner then no one is pulling it
On this weeks "FlipFlopFill-in" Arsenal now have world class players, just for a week or 2 until we change our minds again.
25:54 this shout is wrong.. on a normal Chelsea midfield that has Palmer, Caicedo and Enzo he probably doesn't get in. Could debate vs Enzo but he's also their captain.
And what about Madrid? He doesn't go over Tchuameni, camavinga and Bellingham. Or Valverde if he's in there
A.i is scary and completely shite
“Any team in the world”, only lists premier league teams. He doesn’t get on at Barcelona ahead of Pedri and De Jong, doesn’t play for PSG over Vitinha, Neves. I’d argue he doesn’t play over Gravenberch either because he isn’t a 6. The glazing of English players is mental.
All spurs best players fit Jesus Christ
Good stuff as always lads!! Loved the discussion about England and its current striker situation, keep up the great stuff 🫶🏼
Spence is the definition of mid. I cant believe England fans rate him. Even spurs fans want udogie starting
not a single word about how great chelsea were at spurs? nothing about caicedo’s performance, but you’ll big up declan rice for his?? what happened to this channel
City are 1 injury (to Haaland) away from their challenge for the title falling away. He is that good.
Djed spence and Van de ven reminds me a bit of ozil & mertesacker. Ozil walked off with bad attitude didn't clap, mertesacker went mental at him at the end of the game screaming at him about his conduct. 17:11
I don't agree that the quality of players are the main reason for Spurs' attacking deficiencies. Look at the bucket loads of open play goals Ange scored the last 2 seasons. Frank should be getting more out of these attacking players than he currently is.
When Bayindir was impeded by Arsenal defenders and conceded, you lot said he needs to be stronger, but when it happens to City the tone changes. The Manutd bias is too loud.
The defenders who seem to have faired decent against Haaland have seemed to be the shorter, quicker players that arent out muscled. I was curious about this, Martinez has faced him 3 times, the first coming just a couple months after Martinez joined United and Haaland lit them up for a hat trick. The other 2 times they faced one another Haaland did very little no goals or assists, stats down across the board. It feels like a lot of defenders are just genuinely intimidated facing him as well, you can see some players lack confidence facing top talent like Haaland.
