Scunthorpe United 2-1 Aldershot Town

Good first half, sloppy second half. If you’re a fan of Scunthorpe United that is. We went down to a goal slightly against the run of play. I feel the player meant the flick too to divert it out the way of Watson. Others I’ve spoken with don’t. Either way we went 1 down. Not for long though, a ball put into the box, Dewhurst getting to the ball only to knock it for Roberts to get his head on the ball. Full head of hair cushioned it in nicely 👏🏻👏🏻
Back in the game, which at times felt a little flat on the pitch and across the crowd at time. The second goal wasn’t long in waiting, once again the ball put into the box, hitting the bar and Westbrooke on hand to poke the ball home. Much to the relief of the home supporters. You can see why Aldershot have conceded a good few goals.

Second half it was all Aldershot. If it wasn’t for a fantastic save by Watson or a horrible miss by Thomas. I feel they’d have gone onto win the game if it wasn’t for that. They also had some penalty shouts. Way the ref was in the game, surprised they never got a least one. As ugly as that second half was from a Scunthorpe perspective, it’s those type of games you need to stick at it to get the result of you want to be seen as a contender. Next up in the league Rochdale away a week on Tuesday. 1st v 2nd I think we can be seen as contenders, how serious that game will put a big marker on proceedings.

Fair play to the travelling shots fans. I think Coleman will make a difference when he officially gets in the dug out and sets his requirements out.
