Day 2 Europe Cycling Tour 2022 – Cycling Through France | Clairfontaine to Surtainville

It’s day 2 of our Europe cycling tour through France, and we’re still trying to get into the swing of things. It took us a bit longer than usual to pack up our camp on a freezing cold morning, but a few hills soon warmed us up.

we’re mike and joe and we’re planning to travel 3000 kilometers around europe on our 20 year old bikes we have a vague plan of what we’re doing we’re going to take one day at a time so come along for the ride [Music] good morning i’ve made a mess in my tent it’s like our bags just exploded over the tent time to get up and put it all away we’re just going to continue heading our way down the atlantic coast and just see where we end up [Music] it’s going to be a quiet day today i’m not feeling 100 [Music] so we’re five seconds out of the little town we stayed at last night but now we’re walking our bikes [Music] this nice little town heading down there now hoping to get a coffee [Music] stopping off a little place called port dilette just going to have a look around something maybe something to eat maybe a drink [Music] [Applause] [Music] so it looks like there looks like there might be a nuclear power station out there and i know there’s another one coming up around here don’t think they want you to go in there it’s a razor wire let the nuclear power station [Music] check out the big wide beaches [Music] that’s the first chateau we’ve come across chateau de roselle [Music] it’s fortified to stop the marauding english coming over from jersey which is just over the water there the other thing to consider when cycling through france too is to make sure you don’t end up in a town between twelve and two cause everything shuts apart from restaurants you can get a meal but all the um shops and bakeries grocery shops oh let’s just stop to see where we’re gonna go now maybe down to le ranch camping there so just stop to check out the ranch camping and have a little bit of a break but it’s 23 euros to camp which is a lot of money just to put up a tent so we’re going to continue on i think there’s a municipal campground but further on which is a like a council camp and they’re usually a bit cheaper [Music] this place a little bit cheaper it’s about 12 euros and it’s right by the beach there’s actually nobody here but we’ve just chosen the spot and hoping it’s gonna be okay and we don’t have to move there’s all these signs saying about nuclear risk and what to do it’s like uh thought about nuclear risk but then the power station is just down there mike used to work in a power station nuclear power station that you might see he’s not going to tell anybody so you don’t know that so we’ve got this is our tent here and we’ve got this new thing up just to keep the sun off all the rain bites just sitting over there with our laundry drying on them it’s mike’s underpants not mine so we haven’t seen a shop since we got here or since we landed in sherburg so we’ve got no food to cook we saw there’s a pizza place near here and we just spotted it and this is it it’s a 24-hour pizza place it’s like a pizza vending machine can you believe it so mike’s going to see if we can work it put you in the arrow at the screen i can’t imagine anything more hideous than pizza out of a machine but we really don’t have any choice 11 70 euros is what it’s costing us mine’s getting a bit stressed because we don’t know what pete you got a choice of pizzas so it’s taking three minutes for our pizza to be made and heat it up that’s going to be a bit of a shredding grab kind of thing [Music] it’s like see if mike white’s at first hmm is it okay it’s kind of tepid [Music] it’s actually not too bad it’s only kind of heated up to tepid it’s a bit sad really that we’re in france a place that’s renowned for its food and we’re eating pizza from a vending machine [Music] thanks for watching if you’ve enjoyed this episode please consider subscribing to help us grow our channel we’re trying to get to 1 000 subscribers [Music]
