welcome to Nottingham a city famous for the legend of Robin Hood but it has been named as one of the most underrated cities in the UK so we’ve come here today to find out [Music] why as you can see it isn’t the nicest of mornings at the moment but we’re hoping it’s going to brighten up later so we did just take refuge in a place called dispatch obviously we started our day with a coffee that would just be standard would’ be something wrong with us if we didn’t but we need to talk about the size of their Alman cants now when we first walked in there they were the first things we saw and that was the first thing we said about we was like those they were as big as your head and you’ve got a big head anyway we could have sat in there for quite some time it was very chill very good vibes staring out of the window watching the drizzle but we had to come out at some point and start exploring so also I don’t know how about my outfit he’s embracing summer I’m trying to it’s only Easter weekend at time of recording and it’s about 6 Celsius at the moment probably not the best choice that’s probably why it started [Music] raining well one of the things you had on your list that we couldn’t leave Nottingham without doing was coming to see the Robin Hood statue this is obviously the time of day to come and see it first thing in the morning there’s no one here I mean last time we came here not like I really remember it there was hundreds of people or crowded ground here trying to get a picture was impossible he’s surrounded by his merry men as well we’ve got pictures of all of them nobody in them I thought ma Maran was here as well but I can’t see her so she’s either run away or she’s been stolen by the Sheriff of Nottingham who knows something else we’ve never done is Nottingham Castle cuz it was actually closed for refurbishment last time we were here so we couldn’t do it it was no idea what we’re expecting from this because it’s not like a classic castle in the middle of a city I don’t know what’s inside I think there’s a museum and stuff I’ve seen no pictures don’t even know what it looks like yep so this is going to bech it is really bad but we don’t want to research too much cuz we know what to expect then but I’ve bought the tickets online 12 quid each not too bad and we’re hoping cuz it’s only just opened that it’s going to be the same as a Robin Hood statue and be really quiet fingers crossed [Music] oh my God look at this playground that is got to be the most ingenious use of an old castle moat I think I’ve ever seen however I’ve just seen a sign that says you got to be under 12 where’s the fun in that well I was slightly wrong it actually is a castle up on the hill you just can’t see it from street level but it’s not what you’d automatically think a British Castle would look like in a city with the history as old as Nottingham it’s nothing what I thought is going to be at all at all but we’ll see what’s inside and I think I said there’s a museum but I don’t know what the Museum’s are and it’s probably drier in there anyway yeah it’s like horrible fine rain so it’s like keep going in your faes we’ll be fine we’re not really sure where we’re going because nothing’s really signed as to where you need to go for particular things so we don’t even know we’re going the right way at the minute we’ve just kind of made our way for the big castle building hoping for the best really we’ve got no idea we’ll see we were right about getting here as soon as it opened though because there’s not that many other people around at the minute so hopefully we’ll be able to wander oh it’s windy up here windy W nice view of the city [Music] though we’re trying to find way in but the rain’s getting Heavy He’s Got His H up he’s running away he’s like no I’m going back around the other side the funny thing is got bloody umbrella on the bag you have it’s literally sticking out the back we will get in this castle at some point excuse me mate how do we get in you’re going down again do you reckon that’s right hey you’re going down again you reckon that’s right hot the know well we found our way inside it’s dry that’s thing but we’ve just been in the Rebellion Gallery it’s got the history of Nottingham Castle over like a thousand years in there and apparently it used to be built would like back in 1068 or something why does it look like the mannequin is like having a major P he like H he does look a bit smugg at himself doesn’t he maybe it’s because this looks like a cool place to hang out terrible jokes they’ve only just started oh I don’t know if that’s meant to be a wedding dress but that is creepy that’s very creepy what on Earth are they they look a bit like a clingers mean the clingers clingers the clingers the punk punk version he’s got a nose ring he’s got a very long nose ring oh if you read the signs it actually tells us they are bear jug oh bear jugs that’s cute I don’t think it is though because they’ve got chains in their noses so I think that’s like the Bears that they used to keep for entertainment like in the bear pits now if you’re expecting like a classic Castle to explore this really isn’t it this is more like a a gallery and a museum but it’s quite interesting like Notting Through The Years A lot of the industry and the crafts here there’s a giant pumpkin that we’ve just in that’s kind of cool standard pictures and statues of naked women with their bangers out the stare at you and then obviously there’s a bit about the lace industry here in Nottingham very famous for the lace industry they’re still a part of the city called lace Market I’m sure we’ll walk through it later Y and then loads of other creepy stuff that just kind of watches you as you move and definitely comes to life at night look at this been in their half hour Sun’s come out it’s cleared out what the hell completely different day let’s just hope it carries off yes not complaining anyway we’ve got one more bit to see and that is the Robin Hood experience the Robin Hood know the Robin Hood the Robin Hood bit also they do do a train they do do a train but I’m assuming that’s summer only I’m guessing so because the cab of the train is there and it don’t look like it’s running no never mind let’s go and see Robin Hood Robin Hood Robin Hood running through the forest The Glenn The Glenn Robin Hood Robin Hood and his merry hen that’s the one well done Robin Hood Adventures that’s what it’s called in medieval Nottingham I think we’re about to go back in time oh yeah I can’t stop singing the bloid song with the sound effects this is creepy what’s that but I know that light’s flickering as [Applause] well okay I know I haven’t but I feel like I’ve been in it before I don’t know maybe it just reminds me of cheson world’s Adventures when you go in the GFF I’m a little bit freaked out I’m waiting for somebody to jump out on me you need to get in that put your head in there I can’t why it’s padlocked oh and my head’s too fat well I could have just left you in there and carried on with my day rude smells a little bit like a farm in here what on Earth is that I have no idea you’re holding are you tough enough to I don’t know isn’t that the thing that you hold no I don’t know absolutely no idea I don’t know what I’m doing I’m just following what it says so basically he’s a peasant and he’s practicing to fight people and one of the staff members actually came and taught him how to do it and three goes he finally understood what the man was actually saying to him look at you getting into it take that oh no Take that I think you’re enjoying this a little bit too much I am I feel like I should just leave you here go for it it’s dry oh oh yes I am worthy you are worthy shall We Carry On Let’s I’m so glad that was Jason doing that because if that man would have said that to me it would be more than three times for me to actually understand what he was saying that’s actually quite funny there’s quite a few things you can actually do in there especially like the games and things you can of little games and stuff you can also dress up we didn’t do that we opt out yeah but if you’ve got kids or 38-year-old adults like me brilliant also if the if also if they interact stuff and that isn’t really your thing there’s like a big immersive bit in the middle that tells the story of Robin Hood over time it’s like a 360 thing and they all move from screen to screen it’s pretty cool I’m just got it the stocks was locked I was going to leave him there all [Music] day so we’ve just walked around to the other side of the castle past one of the cutest little pubs I think we’ve ever seen really cute claims to be the oldest Inn in England but I feel like there’s quite a few that claim to be be that yeah but more interestingly to us is the massive Cliff that sits behind Nottingham Castle and a place called mortimer’s hole interesting it’s like a cave you can do it on part of a cave tour in the castle but that’s an extra charge I think 5 if you want to find out more about it but it’s pretty impressive to come down here and just see it from a distance cuz you just wouldn’t think that was at the back of that castle when we was up the top you really would as soon as I walked around I was like oh and I was reading as well that Nottingham is famous for caves because apparently there’s more caves under this city than anywhere else in the UK because it’s all built on Sandstone which apparently is really easy to dig cool do you dig it I’ll dig it so we’ve just found another place that’s included in our tickets from the castle yeah this is a little bit of a bonus we just noticed these old Cottages called Brew House yard where we was next to that cliff and it was included so we thought we’d wander in and it takes you through like four different Cottage Cottage Cottage it takes you through four different Cottages that would have been lived in by textile workers and it goes like back through time starting in the 1900s back through the 1800s and the last one was the richest man in Nottingham how he used to live so it was quite interesting wandering through those but we’ve just come to the back bit and you get to walk through these caves the first one curiously smelt like chocolate lurs and we just made our way into this bit and it smells like a greasy spoon calf it’s really weird so I’m hoping once we get through the caves there’s going to be food that’s literally all you think about also I feel like we’re the only people in here because it is very quiet but very echoey and also that looks like a screaming face oh that looks like similar it’s that famous painting isn’t it what a nice little surprise and I’ll say this I preferred that to the car to the actual castle the caves were a real surprise at the back there I was not expecting that at all and we’d have completely missed this so if you’re going to come and do it don’t miss it because it’s what was in there 10 15 minutes but it’s a cool walk through it is but if you’re tall like me mind your head mind your head I feel like I’ve got cobwebs in my head there is cobwebs everywhere and there’s water dripping as well where we’ve had such a wet winter cuz it’s only Sandstone so it’s a little creepy right shall we head back more into the city center because I know you’ve already seen something today that had you go this city is definitely under this wasn’t part of the uh what’s the word plan for the day vocabulary no itinerary this wasn’t part of the itinerary but when we walk past it we don’t get these in our area so let’s [Music] go happy now kind of if they would have done my cold brew cold foam extra foam oh you’re just fussy I would be very happy but they don’t do that we didn’t get donuts here anyway because wait till you see where we’re now going going to this I think I might be all right with this one make sure you save me half that Cream Egg though what say goodness that is really good also got a bit of chocolate on your mush there we go save it for later oh my God those donuts were incredible we were just saying we think they’re probably the best donuts we’ve ever eaten absolute Game Changer we do now need to walk them off though because they were Hench they had like proper so they were like ring Donuts but they were had like filling of cream icing right through the middle luckily though for us Nottingham has many outdoor spaces and some really interesting looking outdoor spaces as well so we’re going to jump in the car drive to one of them now explore there drive to another one after that explore that and it’s all totally free I like free [Music] W this is pretty incredible isn’t it beautiful what an incredible Park I read some reviews online saying that this was a really nice place to come for a walk bloody understatement of the year or what this is like no other park I think I’ve ever been in in this country I feel like I’m abroad with that big building and like Clock Tower by the lake and everybody out there rowing and stuff it’s like I feel like I’m in Italy or something there like little Bridges going over the water I did say to Jason if we had the time getting a rowing boat that would be really fun it would be a fun thing to do yeah I think the weather’s come out better than we were expecting as well though so otherwise we might have factored that in I went to the car to get a coat you didn’t need that I didn’t need that but but the shades are coming out oh yeah that’s when you know it’s spring yep summer’s coming baby summer’s coming well wasn’t expecting to do some stepping stones was not expecting this this is beautiful also I know it sounds gross but the green looks really cool really cool you mean like all the Alie stuff all over the top there’s like a little waterfall behind this tree as well I can hear it I can’t really see it very well wait till you see it it’s so I feel like it’s in person it would look so much better with the Sun out it looks better as well oh% the sun’s come out but look you got the lake this side and then the little waterfall and all the green this side this is cool I love this park oh apparently don’t lean down not when you’re may I was about to say apparently so to the instagramers [Music] but now whenever we visit a city we always like to explore at least one of its parks or Open Spaces because like today you just never know what you’re going to find and we just love wandering around these places I’ve got to say Nottingham I think you’re winning so far you’re doing well I don’t think there’s a park I can think of in the UK that I like more than this one I thought the one we saw in Lincoln Lincoln the arum I thought that was one of the top ones but now I think this is this is way way I me I start with the Rocks the walk rocks the Stepping Stones the waterfalls the boting lake the cute building with the clock tower the Chinese dragons it’s brilliant I’m almost a little bit sad that we’re about to leave this park but good news for us we’re not stopping at just one of Nottingham’s Open Spaces today we’re going to a second one that’s going to be completely different but I’ve also got high hopes after this well we were just about to leave but we’ve just walked up here to get a better view of that building with the Clock Tower and what have we just seen two bunnies two little bunnies is playing in the spring flowers and it’s Easter oh oh yeah well this is interesting the bits are very small to put your feet in I’m trying not to oh god I’ve got white shoes on again shot Corin you’ve got your nice vans on oh well [Music] done well this is a little bit different than the last Park we were at this is wallon Hall and Deer Park there’s some Fair going on for Easter but we’re heading up this hill to wallon Hall itself because there’s a museum inside free to enter first I got out the car and I was like sounds like Disneyland out here turn around there’s that and then I walk around you and I go who because I didn’t know we were going in that that’s not what I was expecting yep and he’s excited because I told him we were going to see some dinosaurs today pretty where the dinosaurs where dinos I think there’s dinosaurs inside I hope I haven’t got that wrong wrong last but also while we’re on the way there don’t forget to keep your eye out because it’s not called wall wallon Halland Deer Park for no reason there are free roaming red and fellow deer in the ground okay keep your eyes peeled not leaving till we’ve seen them you know that right well we’ got reservation of dinner at half so that is a good sign there is poop there is dear poop they are here you hope that’s dear poop oh yeah beo that hill was steeper than it looked it was fine to begin with but all of a sudden it went from like that to like that well I hope it’s worth it and I haven’t got this wrong and there is actually dinosaurs in there now in that it’s a nice building the outside looks really nice so I’m holding [Music] hope well I was right it is definitely a natural history museum inside wallon Hall we didn’t actually see dinosaurs as such there is meant to be Titus the T-Rex inside but unfortunately that exhibition’s closed I think it might have been a temporary one so I’m not sure if that’s now going away but we did get to see lots of fossils and crystals and stuff and then there’s loads of Taxidermy animals in there we even saw a stuffed king penguin that was donated in 2018 by Birdland Park and Gardens which is in Borton on the water where we literally were 2 weeks ago so that’s a bit strange to see but I think one of the most impressive things and a reason definitely to go and visit it because it’s totally free is the building itself the inside is just as beautiful as the outside it is absolutely incredible the only thing that scares me in there is when you’re walking down the stairs they’re very creaky when there’s about 100 people walking down them oh I don’t know and there is some creepy faces on the ceilings as well which are a little bit weird I think though possibly the most scary Taxidermy animal in there isn’t the proboscis monkey It’s the weird human primate that was beside it I think that was a cheeky little everyone watching you everyone watching me never mind well we didn’t get to see Titus the T-Rex inside but you get to see this one outside it’ll do I swear we’re cursed this year everywhere we go there’s dinosaurs it’s there’s not dinosaurs there’s not dinosaurs there was dinosaurs just not the T-Rex we did see plaur bones and fossils and an Iguanodon thigh bone we did anyway we’ve come outside to explore the formal Gardens of the hall it’s really pretty around here and also you get some incredible views of the opposite side of the hall I’m still hoping we’re going to see some of those free roaming deer I’m kind of having a look around as we go around but um well I suppose technically we did see some deer they just weren’t free roaming they were um stuffed the only free roaming thing I’m seeing is humans I can see a deer there there is that a deer that’s te a it’s a stag stag it’s still it’s a male deer oh I don’t know I need that that sky behind you don’t look very good no just thinking should we get walk into the car I haven’t seen a deer yet well poing the stuffed ones you happy my day is made I genuinely thought we weren’t going to see them and then you were just like what’s that over there as you like looked through the trees in the distance I was like oh my God it’s a dear we’ve got to go over there and we’ve got here and there’s loads sky looks a bit mean though do it sky looks really mean I think we might have timed this right but um I’m happy now so should do dinner that’s very Posh wasn’t it you dinner darling do [Applause] dinner oh oh my God dinner was amazing it was incredible we love a hickory Smokehouse we’ve been to the one in Chester before so as soon as we found out there was one in Nottingham we knew we had to go and it did not disappoint that was delicious I was really craving something brisky brisket brisky brisky and I had what was it it was like a brisket roll like a sub like a sub but it had it had a gravy with it it was like a French dip style yeah and all these SAU is in it you basically just dip it in and you eat it it was so wet and amazing sounds awful what way to describe it it was so messy but it was so amazing I had ribs but I think I enjoyed mine a little too much because my buttons come off me trousers and um I’ve had to do the last bit with or no button that’s the sign we need to stop eating yummy stuff yeah that’s probably accurate anyway when it comes to Nottingham as a whole I think it definitely is an underrated City because we didn’t leave ourselves enough time to explore half of what was on our itinery today we’ve had an amazing day but there was so much more we could have done there and another city just down the road that took us by surprise as well is centry so if you want to see what we got up to there click the video here now and we’ll see you over there for another day of exploring we didn’t eat so much rubbish that day either what just say whatever for the end of the video peace that’s not the peace sign peace

Nottinghamshire is full of history
The grand building with the clock tower at Highfields Park is one of the University of Nottingham buildings. I was lucky enough to do my undergrad there 🙂
Give us a shout of you come back to Nottingham. Would be good to meet up with fellow YouTubers. We can show you more of Nottingham
Awesome video guys! Great to see Nottinghams better side for once. Next time you are in Nottingham, you should go to an ice Hockey game at the arena! Always a great night! Also the Hockley/lace market area has some awesome bars.
Nottingham has always been worth a visit, but the visitor experiences like the robin hood experience were so bad they were a comedy visit. Finally they have caught us up with decent facilities and experience. The caves have been improved too if that interests you
Glad to see access to the brewers yard happens again, seemed to be forever closed off and the park locked up too
Love you guys positivity. Plenty of videos on here about how Britain has gone to the dogs – you just need the right attitude!
Nottingham born and bred here, you NEED to come back. There's so so so so so much more to see. The galleries of justice, the pitcher and piano. The official cave tour under the city. The old salutation inn, Snenton Market. All of this is within the city boundary. Also there's a tunnel that was built too small for coaches, a medieval stairway currently being restored, and if you are interested a ghost tour of the city where you explore more caves. Realistically you need more than a day here to truly experience this wonderful city
I visited just yesterday, it's pretty 😊
The building at Highfields is called The Trent Building. It's part of the University Of Nottingham.
One of my favourite places to visit.
Nottingham is nothing like it was 20 years ago
Not as good as it used to be before the invasion post millennium.
I moved to Nottingham 4 years ago after straight up loving visiting over the years and I can safely say, you guys absolutely nailed it!
Doughnotts are the best in the country!
Welcome to my city
As someone who went to the University of Nottingham, it's an okay city, it's very student orientated, it's dead in the summer, but it's a nice little city, also that big white building with the clocktower is part of the university, it was the original main university building, I used to live opposite the park in my second year! Also, look up the gnomes of wallaton park
Yes but the beggars yk they are a bad thing about the city
Dreadful place – couldn’t get out quick enough – be careful of inner city gangs
Nottingham full.of shit.
Nottingham castle used to be free to get in, but now no one wants to pay to get in.
That is why it's empty. 😑
Thanks for visiting us here in Nottingham, come back soon!!
Nice, of course you only saw a little of it.
i've lived on the outskirts of nottingham and we also have beautiful scenery, very hilly.
Nottingham is really great place
My home town but it has really gone down hill in recent years thanks to the Labour council and an influx of people who don’t or can’t speak English. We avoid the place as best we can as we just do not feel at all safe, especially at night. Breaks my heart.
The castle was burnt down in 1842, it was bought by the Duke of Newcastle who built a ducal palace, that's what it is.
There used to be bear baiting in the market square.
great video!! enjoyed it.. Nottingham is cool
Live here…it’s a shit hole….
I loved your video, I am planning to move to Nottingham and was looking for videos.
