now if you live in Milton Kings you may have spotted some cycling Santas today hundreds of local people dawned the festive attire and took their bikes to the city center to call on the council to provide more cycle Lanes Hannah Kings reports more than 220 Santas and not a sleigh in sight these far the Christmases opted for bicycles instead today taking part in Milton kean’s annual cycling Santas of event cycling is such a great exercise for everybody um so doing more cycling raising awareness for that around Milton Kings is brilliant it’s not normal to dress up as Santa in racing I saw I just was in my glass and so I went home and told my dad all about give people you know a smile and promote more active lifesty in the city the route took the riders in red through the center of Milton Kings they cycled on roads because the Town’s Redway cycle Lane system doesn’t extend this far something Those Behind today’s event want to see change the main thing is that we want to have fun but not just fun we also want to give the um the council a true idea of how many people would like better cycling infrastructure in the city center itself so create a Redway with our Center suits Milton Keane city council says it has already improved some City Center Redway and that it will keep listening to feedback from local people joining in today the mayor wants to encourage enage more residents to start cycling get fit get healthy increase our air quality reduce carbon emissions and better better living standards for our children tucking into some well-deserved mince pies after crossing the Finish Line what did our Santas think of the ride it’s a a brilliant like a a sense of community and then people come together you bring the joy to the audience to the people to the public on the way as well as a bit of Christmas cheer they’re hoping their message about cycling was also success F delivered Hannah Kings ITV News
