Say goodbye to the white and pink non-electric bikes as red ebikes are taking over. Glasco’s cycle high scheme is going fully electric as Voy Technology UK Limited will be the new operator replacing next bike by tier promises a minimum of thousand brand new ebikes across 100 locations to replace the existing 130 non-electric bikes and 209 ebikes across 113 stations. This came after the contract for the bike hire scheme was put up for tender and was awarded to Swedish firm boy who can run the scheme for up to five years. As well as being fully electric, the new bikes will come with a few other changes. Users have the option of two types of ebikes depending on the trip duration and rider preferences with caps at safe speeds for urban and rural use. And rather than having to park in fixed docking stations, hybrid docking will allow users to park within designated on street zones. The cycle higher scheme has proved popular since launching in 2014 as it’s racked up 3 million highs and over 280,000 registered users. What do you think of the changes?
